    I understand your point Burke Backer, I am a little sensitive when it comes to Burke too. But as rose said, she was talking about Burke not IW. Having read many EP interviews I have always been struck by how dignified, respectful and down to earth she is and would be extremely surprised if she said bad stuff about any one of her colleagues. And her refusal to talk about her Mum's death makes me respect her even more. An all round classy lady.

    You're right, Rose. the interview could have been months before the publication actually went to press. I read it as Isiaiah Washington's Dr. Burke as if they aree one and the same. I guess I am just a little hypersensitive to the whole thing.

    Just to mention that Ellen did not say that about Isaiah--she said it about IW's character Dr Burke. It wasn't good timing though for a joke like that, but who knows when this interview was actually done.

    Ellen Pompeo seems like a very classy, down-to-earth celebrity. She deserves the recognition that Grey's has given her!

    I didn't know that about her mom either. She does have a lot from her real life to draw on for her role as Meredith Grey. As a person who knows what it is like to have the media beat you up, I am surprised she even joked about getting on Isaiah Washington's bad side. She should know better because the ones who dislike him won't get the joke and the ones who love him won't appreciate it. What a pretty picture of Ellen. I like her hair that way.

    Ellen is just amazing! She seems so down to earth and just nice. I didn't know, that about her mom. Terrible. She really knows the feeling Merideth has with her mom..
