Bad move, I like Addison right where she is. Don't break up a winning cast, they don't come along too often!

i think this is a smart move. addison's primary role was to go between mer and der. now that this issue has been resolved, there's not much for her on the show. but because we all still love her, a spin-off isn't a bad idea. keeping her in grey's will force shonda and the writers to come up with storylines that viewers will potentially find lame.

Personally, I have come to adore Addie and think she adds much to Grey's as a main character. However, a spinoff doesn't mean she changes, just her surroundings and the people she'll play off of...we'll get to see her in a whole new way. And maybe get to know more about her history...plus she WON'T be as defined by male characters (Derek's ex-wife, Mark's ex-lover, Alex's maybe-soon-to-be-lover). Hopefully this works, but if it doesn't get picked up, Addie will more than likely remain at Grey's (spinoff does NOT equal death as some seem to think!).
anyway, GOOD LUCK to Kate Walsh and I hope everything turns out amazing (however it turns out)!! :-)

-death, maybe ellis grey?
-this episode is called some kind of miracle (probably meredith surving)
-second death? maybe addison, who teams up with denny for the spin off, merediths afterlife WAS at a hospital just like SGH ???
either way it shoudl be amazing

things will never be the same without Addison...all these people who love Meredith..pls..she is a slut who can't get over her mommy issues..it's not her mom's fault that she sleeps with anything that moves.
Addison brings depth to the show and she is funny...the chemistry between Alex and her is great...i don't really know what the big deal is about Derek & Meredith..They are annoying couple...I am so over them
This shows works not because of Meredith & McDreamy but the rest of the characters. George & Callie (yes a bit annoying)but they both get each other.Burke & Cristina have this wonderful, flawed, funny relationship..Izzie is crazy..she can't mind her own business when it comes to George but her heart in the right place...Alex is a good guy who really doesn't know how to be a good guy...Bailey..Bailey is THE QUEEN....Mark is a jerk but how much of a

from a purely logical standpoint, Grey's hasn't even gone through a whole year in tv time. Addison will have been there for six,seven, eight..? months and then she just jumps ship and moves somewhere else? No right minded professional would do that. Second, she is head of Obstetrics and has the top neo-nat unit in the country according to the show. What possible job would make her give that up... Shonda has some explaining to do

okay okay ... i dont really get everything ^^ (cos i'm german and my english is ...well ...not good enough) but wow - kate is leaving the show and gets her own show or what? i mean shes one of my faves! In this show or episode or whatever this thing with kate is , will they show it in germany too???
oh man, it sucks ^^ shonda is a really good writer but if meredith (maybe) dies, and kate leaves the show too ...it wouldnt be the same GA ^^
and i've got another question: how many seasons will they produce (GA) ?
In germany we're on the 2nd season ... well anyway...

Nooo!!! Addison is the best character from Grey's! She can't go! What about her relation with Alex? and mark? I think she's not done with SGH, it will be so boring without her... i love Kate so i wish her the best luck with the spinoff, i hope it works, but if not she should return to Grey's. Good luck Kate!

I love kate walsh. don't get me wrong. but i have mixed emotions with the potential GA spin-off. i mean, what about addex??? just when i was beginning to like them. and plus, SGH will not be the same without addie. she just brings a certain "something" to the show. i know i'll definitely watch kate's solo show but c'mon! it's just so difficult to accept a somewhat "break up" in the show. i love and hate it at the same time. but i will always love everyone in grey's. this sucks but you guys still rock. =)

Ok, the thing about all this stuff that has been happening recently is.....Shonda is messing around too much with a good thing. Maybe she is just testing her writing limits and trying to get Addison a show that can make her character expand more but I think that especially with the recent episodes with Meredith's death (if she has died, we'll find out soon) she's just messing it around too much. Grey's Anatomy as it is at the moment is an immensely successful show and yet Shonda and is trying to move stuff around, forcing storylines that ultimately seem a little pointless. Yes, its exciting and tense I have to admit the whole Meredith will she won't she kick it thing, but I think that the whole thing is just entirely pointless because I'm pretty certain Shonda isn't going to kill the main character - Grey's has formed around Meredith and without it, its not really anything. She knows that she will lose a large part of the fan base if she kills Meredith so I think she's just put this st

It will star Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, the sexy neonatal surgeon played by Kate Walsh, the paper said. It's always the same some people are never satisfied with what they have. Shonda and ABC just want to make more money and like I have said so many times before they are manipulating us. They are definitely pushing their luck because if they kill Meredith tonight a lot of people will stop watching and if they take Addison away glamour will leave the show. For the last 2 weeks I have not watched my GA DVD's and the last 2 episodes I only watched once or twice. Is this not a sign of growing frustration??

This is really lame. The series hasn't ended yet so why take her out before she's even had a chance that she can prove herself a powerful character without the men in her life. But, at least this is just a test. If people don't like it, then it wont air.
And no, this is not the same show as Jeffrey dean Morgan's.

This really sucks!! I just recently got my sister hooked and have her now in the middle of season 2 and she hates Addison. After ever show I keep asking her if she still hates her and she replies, "yes because she is in the way of Derek and Meredith." I keep telling her to, "just wait, you will love her." Right now Addison and Alex are my favorite characters and I will be very sad to see her go. I have 2 small children and struggle to find time to watch my current shows, much less add a new one. I will definitely need to try though because she is an amazing woman and I don't believe she has fewer ways to keep busy...why not sneak into the closet with Alex...I know that could be entertaining!! Although I like Meredith and her little quirks she is not one of my favorites. Her scene with Derek at the end of season 2 was great but now that they are together they are somewhat boring. They are best with conflict but Addison is just great all around and Kate Walsh definitely earns cr

i love Addison..she is my favorite..Kate Walsh plays her perfectly....i love this show and i am probably the only one who HATES meredith...I hope they do kill her off but we all know that is not happening.....This is all becoming bizarre...why is it when a show becomes really good someone has to do something stupid to ruin it...really how many spinoffs have really worked recently?

I think this is a great idea!! And I am excited that we could get an additional hour a week of Shondra's brilliance. When they brought Kate Walsh on to the show she was only supposed to be around for a few episode, but we all loved her so they kept her around. The cast is getting too crowded, so if we have to lose a character at least we still get to follow them on another show. I can't handle any more characters dying!
P.S. This narrows teh race for Chief!
