how can addison fuckign leave the show...they just got started with the storyline with addison and karev and now theyre taking her away...for a spinoff? that is the most stupidest thing ive ever heard..just when the shows at its peak theyre taking off one of their leading female characters...wow. this is so fucked up

except for the csis, which have different cast members anyway, i HATE spinoffs! i think both greys anatomy and the spinoff will be weaker for this decision do do away with addison

NO WAYYYY!!! Why would they do something so stupid? she is my fav. character by far! I wont be watching greys anatomy any more (may be the heat of the moment talking through my lips...)
I love Addison thats why I wouldnt watch her spin off they are usually terrible.

well i am not sure that this will pick up either but i hope that it does.But you know actually if you go back to the previous entries on the main page for this site it has an article with ellen pompeo saying that one of the interns will be leaving the cast but it wont be meredith.Do you think it could be alex to go on to the new show?Seems like it could. That would be good too if the show makes it.

Another one that made me chuckle... last week, someone was criticizing the fact that Derek was able to jump in the water and find Meredith (presumably) so fast since she had already sunk down to the bottom of the Puget Sound. The person said, "well, apparently Shepherd has some incredible McSonar..."

This doesn't seem right. I don't care how hard it is to fir storylines for all of the characters in, if they were planning on taking Addie out of the show, then why did they start her relationship with Alex? If they kill Mer and get rid of Addie, the show honestly cannot survive. Bad move.

definitely don't know how i feel about this one. I think they are screwing around a little too hard core with the show right now. personally i think they are just going to lose viewers... i mean come on.. if they do, which i don't' think they will but still, kill off mer, and then they get rid of Addison (the best one :)) then what? lets face it, it will be crap. And plus its WAY too soon to be thinking about spin offs. I mean seriously, the show is at an all time high, why crap it up now and lose all that? Everyone being together on the show is what makes it what it is. And getting rid of Kate and anyone else is not going to go over well. I'm super happy for her but NO. just NO. bad move.

I totally agree with Addex, pam, and shades_of_grey. If it ain't broke, don't fix it...SO TRUE! This is so random and out of the blue! It just doesn't make sense! I love Addison on GA and I know for sure I wouldn't watch it without her. Plus, I think Addison plays an important role in the development of some of the other characters, whether it's minor or major. Honestly, this is so frustrating to me. I mean, I love KW and sure, she does deserve her own show. But, why now when she's doing so well on Grey's Anatomy? I seriously hope Shonda isn't actually planning on doing this!

Addison would have made the perfect next-chief-of-surgery. ...No family, is objective, and has the time to devote to the job.

I think it will be great. I'd LOVE to have two hours of Shonda a week. I say we give them all their own show and just have each actor make visits.

Hmmmm...Shonda has really shocked me on this one. But needless to say that everytime that Shonda has shocked me she has never disappointed me! So, I will stand behind her on this one. It may be something great and be just as good as Grey's Anatomy or it could be horrible....we just have to wait and see. If it is terrible...I trust Shonda to bring my girl and also what the name of my first born daughter, Addison back to Seattle Grace!

Calm down people. Lol. It doesnt mean that Grey's Anatomy is ending..it means it will just be another show..with addison as the main "focus". She'll probably still be on grey's sometimes 2.
I don't know how i feel about it though. I like Addison. I love her character...not to mention her gorgeous hair. I'm just going to miss having her around...but then again..it's not as funny anymore...
It was freakin hilarious in like season 2 when she would randomly appear like...when mer and der were having a "discussion" or sharing "the look". It just made things really interesting.

I knew that as soons as her divorce from Derek became final and her friendship with Mer progress... they weren't going to keep her on after seson three. In fact I had read on spoilerfix.com that kate and eric dane were suppose to be gone by January 2007 but then Shonda had came up with some storylines for them and decided to keep them until the end of this season.
Anyhoo, I am sad that she won't be apart of the cast next season but I doubt they are going to kill of her character or anything. She'll just leave Seattle Grace pregant or because she'll find her calling somewhere else. But as long as she can drop in every so often into Seattle Grace then it's not like were losing her completely we just won't be able to see her every thrusday.

The Writer's Blog has amost 5000 hits and comments the majority of which were very unhappy about Meredith dying. This number of protests is unprecedented and the producers of GA is well aware that they cannot let Meredith or Derek go because of their huge fanbase. I am not so sure whether or not Addision can carry her own show unless they can team her up with another starpower. Having said, I wish her and Shonda much success and I will absolutely give it a try, but I will never give up Grey's Anatomy with the lovable five interns at its helm. They are the originals and they were the reason we got hooked together with Bailey, Burke, and the Chief, and of course, the one and the only Derek Sheperd.

Addison is a good character for a spin-off. And just because she gets her own show does not necessarily mean she is dead to Grey's Anatomy. She's gorgeous and fun and dynamic, but she would probably be two or three times as much on her own show, given the chance. And just because they are putting together a pilot does not mean it will be picked up. She could very well remain on Grey's if they do not permanently write her out. She could just miss out on chief of surgery and decide to find a new hospital. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity and will probably only go into effect if it is a really sturdy venture.

I can only hope for the best. I love GA and Addison is by far my favorite character. I just think back to seeing the original ads for GA and I wasn't all that interested. My husband thought it looked good and that's why we started watching. Now, of course, wouldn't miss an episode. I have to believe with Shonda behind it, Kate Walsh's new show will be great.
