First off, WOW !! Great episode, very intense. Meredith and the girl, I beleive is a dream girl, I think it represents Meredith and she's not really there. Falling off the pier was ominous, that she needs to be saved and Derek will find her, although she may suffer from hypothermia and be in a coma...not dead but her body shut-down. Poor Izzie, she has to slay a huge fear by helping the accident car man, but noticed that gasoline was dripping out of the vehicle, so what happens next???Alex was awesome, truly a compassionate hero, by all means, and Addison is really liking the qualities he has shown. Callie was really of the wall, talking to George about working and can't be his wife right now, they are working out the finer points.Burktina are allready so much like a married couple, and boy, having to tell your best-friend the big news first was a huge deal, I agree that Mer needed to be told , but Cristina was so cute when she was trying to tell her. Really a well written show.E

That would be too easy, Belgian. George just lost his father. Killing off Meridith's mom would just be redundant. That said, I suppose it is within the realm of possibility. Either way, I am stil on the edge of my seat for the next couple of weeks. I just hope they don't go with the "it was all just a dream" route.

My prediction for the next two episodes looks something like this...
Meredith does Die.
Derek does rescue her, and eventually brings her back to life - but not consciousness.
Meredith remains in a coma - here we see some things from comatose Meredith's point of view - her friends telling her things that she hears but cannot respond to - perhaps some brush with the afterlife where her spirit meets Denny's spirit (that would explain Jeffrey Dean Morgan's return)
Meredith will have a lot of things to tell people when she regains consciousness.
Now if the show is insisting on killing someone off for good, Meredith might just run into Izzy and Denny during her brush with the afterlife.
Sounds crazy, but if I am right, I am opening a psychic hotline. ;-)

The first time I saw the episdoe I wasn't too crazy about it. Other than the scene with Burke and Cristina first arriving at the hospital together happy about their engagement, I didn't like much of it. But then I watched it again tonight and there was quite a bit that I enjoyed. Cristina peering around the locker at Meredith was pretty funny. The elevator scene with Addison, Derek, Mark, Burke, and the Chief was cute. It's kind of fun to see the guys bonding a little bit. I really liked that Derek confided in Burke. They both could use a male friend. Both of their girlfriends have some issues that they clearly don't get. That was a really nice scene. I understood why Burke confided in Derek about the engagement, but the whole time I was thinking, man are you going to be in trouble.
I loved Alex tonight. He was heroic rescuing the pregnant girl and his concern for her throughout was very touching. The first time I watched it I didn't get that the bare mattress and open

C and Bonnie M--yes Addison was referring to Meredith as the perfect 12 year old--a jab at Derek for having a relationship with someone much younger than he is (on the show--in real life they are fairly close in age).
I don't think Meredith's patient died, she saved his life by sewing up the gash on his leg. He was apparently delirious with pain and did not deliberately knock her into the water.

I am usually a Burke Fan. But I have to say, in this episode, I am not very happy about what Burke did. What he did was out of line and out of character and unprofessional. The Chief assigned Dr Yang to scrub in on the pregnant Jane Doe. You can't pull her off the case just because you are upset of the fact that your fiance did not tell her best friend she is engaged. This is an abuse of power, isn't it???

I know that I've posted a few comments already. But, I have to tell you about the episode last night. I was on the edge of my seat. Yes, Derek has to rescue her out the water, or McSteamy, would be OK too!!! I know if that was me. I'd take either one. WOW. What happened too Izzie, do you think she was having kindof a flash back to Denny? Also, the man Izzie was helping, don't you think the 4 or 5 men around her would've had enough drenalin to lift that car to get the man out from under? Also the pregnant woman Alex was taking care of. My heart went out to him. His cold heart started to melt, because he showed his worryness.....GREAT SHOW .........MARLENE
