That was a lot to take in.

On last night's "The Other Side of This Life," the trials of Jane Doe took another disappointing turn, tensions continued to grow between Izzie and George, Cristina went wedding dress shopping (!) and Meredith endured yet another loss (and an inexplicable slap).

But it was almost overshadowed by Addison's road trip to L.A. and the cast of characters she encountered there. We've got all the action from the two-hour event recapped for you - including a list of the new California characters - in our exclusive episode guide.

Our gallery is also up, and we're working on our music guide (let us know if you can help us find any missing songs and lyrics), as well as our list of quotes. We'll be updating throughout the day, so check back often!

OMGosh...where did they get this info about the season finale????? Please tell me this can't be? http://www.imnotobsessed.com/2...

did anyone noticed the smile derek gave that brunette at the bar? that is a taboo and abomination!!!! that mcdreamy smille is only meant for meredith. Cheat on her derek and you will be sorry!!!

Hey Kathy...I definitly hope that Meredith and Derek will stay together and I think that eventuely the two of them are back on the right track, but for now...just as piper said...some drama is needed to get the show going!!

i have a nagging feeling that the spinoff wont take off and addy will come back to greys hopefully. and all of you who are threatening shonda and criticizing her about the whole merder thing, in words of dr. bailey "shut the heck up" because its not her job to do what you people want. its her job to create show that is has drama and sex and surprises. shonda knows better than to break up mer der for sure so everyone chill out and let shonda play around....
o and on the show on thursday i didnt think the spinoff was horrible butl....errrr. and greys was ok.

The spinoff was awful! I wish there would have been much more sg than the la stuff... Bringy Adison back to Seatle!

What a scam. "Let's abuse the fan-base by shoving this spin off down their throats. We'll splice in bits of the real episode to keep them watching and hopefully this half-baked Grey's copy will stick." I felt embarrassed to be watching this. I stopped watching Six Feet Under after I started to feel embarrassed with it -- I think it might be the same way with Grey's. Why did I feel embarrassed? I had the feeling that it was no longer drama, it had evolved into soap opera. Perhaps it was always a soap. but at one point the spell was broken. I hope my "Grey's" spell hasn't been broken with this episode.

Absolutely LOVED the episode.
Cannot wait until next season. Brilliant and very fresh way to introduce Addison storyline and transition to a new show. Thanks Shonda for creating and keeping the integrity of a show and for creating something that your thinking audience will follow and appreciate.

I didn't like the spinoff didn't find anything interesting and if it becomes a show it will lose viewers quickly and Kate Walsh will be out of a job. Better stick with what you know Kate.

hello insiders! this is totally off topic. but you might want to mention shonda rhimes being one of the 100 most influential people as recognized by the latest issue of time magazine. very cool. her write up was done by the equally cool sandra oh.

Ok, I liked the spinoff...personally, I think most people I talked to went into it with a bad mind set...I really liked that it was something different. I am getting a little bored of the same stories on grey's (i still love the show). I think both shows can do well. I do, however, think it would have been better if they put them in separate episodes. It would have had more continuity and allow us to focus on what was going on in Seattle Grace. But I do love the cast of the spinoff.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."
