Addison's Big Day

In tonight's two-hour special, Addison (Kate Walsh) takes leave from Seattle Grace and makes a road trip to L.A. to visit some old friends from med school, while the rest of the surgical team struggles with its own set of problems as the season finale quickly approaches.

Hey, when they were at that party and that song was playing, (Dun dun dun, it don't matter) What was that song? I know it's kind of a long shot but It'd appreciate it!

Dixie Girl, Where did you read that the girl in the bar was Mer's half sister? Maybe thats a good sign, knowing Der would not do anything with Mer's sister, right?

Wow....anybody read any of the other site's forums??? (of course, this is my favorite!!) whew - those people are vicious...the posts are running probably 75% against the spinoff. Lots of unhappy GA fans. Wonder if Shonda ever gets any of this feedback. I'm sure somebody at ABC has got to be looking at this stuff, doncha think? My other wonder (this late on a Friday afternoon) is --- did Shonda realize that the spinoff was kind of sucky, and intertwine it with last night's REAL GA episode - since she knew we wouldn't turn it off? And finally....I keep hearing that the girl in next week's promo trying to steal Derek is none other than Mer's 1/2 sister?????? Ohhhhh, noooooooo

WOW! I must be the minority. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the spinoff stuff, I could care less of what's happening. I wanted to know more about the new people & I loved not being in a hospital.
I have never liked Meredith & Derick together or Burke & Chrstina together, so I am sooooo sick of those drawn out stories.
The only people I care about is George & Izzy. Christina was my favorite until recently when she's pussied out too much.
If the spinoff starts I'll still watch Grey's but this year ruined what was a good thing, I'm happy about starting fresh!

Do I wish someone from ABC reads this board and passes your messages to H.R.H. Shonda. Did you listen to the podcast? She and Betsy Beers just loved the show they sound so self-sufficient their chit chat is a real pain.
WE are the end users and WE have the power to make or kill a serie no?
Bet you the cliffhanger at the end of the season will be a break up between Mer and Der.
So producers please have a little respect for our "mental health" that you have been manipulating for too long this season our patience is far gone by now.

I don't mind them making a spinoff show. Of anyone on grey's, Kate Walsh is probably the only one I'd tune in to see in another show, cause I absolutely love her, and she can hold her own. Last night's episode was horrible, but I expected that. You have to introduce everyone, explain what they all do, what their pasts are. It doesn't leave a whole lot of room for good quality episode. But I would have rather they put all that in it's own hour. There was too much new show, and not enough grey's. Like I said, I'm down with the new stuff, and I'll even give it a shot, should it get picked up, at least for an episode or two. I understand it's a different show, and will therefore have a different feel. But don't dilute and water down grey's with it. Leave it as it's own entity. The cast was good, and McElevator is pretty cute, and I think if they give time to let the characters develop, it could be interesting. But they need to let the connection to Grey's die. If they keep the two shows intertwined, they will both go down.

Seriously, all of you who hate the spinoff (which happens to be everybody) vote in this week's poll, because us people who hate it are losing. Vote and be heard.

I was highly disappointed last night with this episode. I hated how it keep jumping back and forth. The whole time I kept thinking go back to Grey's and get rid of this private practice crap!

We were all talking abut the show at work today and hands down...no one is pleased with the direction things are going---DOWNHILL. The plot lines are becoming more and more outrageous, but NOT in an entertaining manner. The spin off is really lame. I feel like we've invested a lot in this show and Shonda has really let us down. George used to be one of my favorite characters, because he had a good heart and would always try to do the right thing. Now we are to believe that he would treat both Callie and Izzie so poorly? Because he is doing a huge disservice to both of them with his actions. The best thing about George and Izzie's relationship was that they could be best friends and NOT lovers---so much for thinking outside the formulaic prime time TV show thinking. And Addison and Alex had come so far only to be robbed of the potential the writers were starting to give them. Seriously, the writers HATE women (and apparently gay men)--It's not enough that Addison lets McSteamy out of her life, Alex has to treat her like dirt, THEN she has to find out she's infertile (from her "best" friend who tells her she's fat, ugly, and acts so happy to see her). But never fear, there's always another guy (Tim Daly, boy they cut his cojones off didn't they? making him an alternative medicine guy who has to stick needles in her face before he sticks his tongue in her tonsils)--or she could opt to just drool over the surf geek (& tell me, what is with the Beach Boys hairdo on that guy????I'm sorry, those abs did nothing for me, I much prefer McSteamy in or out of his towel). I'm sure such a successful "private practice" could afford to hire a better looking receptionist. Back to GA---the whole situation with Mer/Der is out of hand. 2 episodes ago Derek tells her he will ALWAYS be there for her--NOW he would rather be Chief? oh puh-lease.....Is it Ava with brain damage or is it Shonda? I think she's been too busy writing up her new show and has let some "B-level" writers fill in and they have given us a bunch of shlock. And another thing---Season 1 and 2, which were both fantastic and worth watching again and again because they are full of humor, pathos, and little subtleties like finding hidden treasures in each episode--had very humorous situations and dialogue among ALL the characters (remember breast implant guy? all of McSteamy's great one-liners, like "do you want my pickle?"--christina's straight-faced one-liners--etc,etc) Now there is NO humour in any of the episodes, the tragedy is MELODRAMATIC and even uncomfortably awkward, the interaction between all the characters is odd and disjointed---I could line up all the characters and slap them ALL across the face (if the writers were in there too). The coming attractions seem to indicate that it was Bailey on the floor with the Chief flailing about for help--if it wasn't Bailey, then it was Adele. If one more key character dies or near-dies next week, I have only one thing to say: "Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for THEE Grey's Anatomy..." (at least on my big screen TV)

I am so glad to see that I was not the only person supremely dissapointed with last night's episode. Grey's is the only show I make time to watch every week and I usually love every single episode, last night though was just the opposite. I couldn't wait for it to end so I could just go to bed. The 15 minutes of Seattle Grace time was not enough, I do not tune in weekly to see storylines develop on charachters in California, I want Seattle and that is it. And I especially did not like seeing Addison as some unsure melodramatic having a midlife chrisis verge of a mental breakdown crazy woman! She is much better in the Seattle setting, I will not watch the spin off (if there is one) and from now one, Greys should stick to the stuff we all love.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

The first time I kissed my wife, she wasn't my wife then, she was just this girl in a bar. But when we kissed, it was like, I gotta tell you, it was like I'd never kissed any other woman before. It was like my first kiss. The right kiss.

[narrating] "At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out, they fence you in. Life is messy, that's how we're made. So you can waste your life drawing lines or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines that are way too dangerous to cross. Here's what I know. If you're willing to throw caution to the wind and take a chance, the view from the other side... is spectacular."
