Two Season 4 Guest Stars Announced

by at . Comments

Tony Award winner Ben Vereen, who made his New York nightclub debut earlier this year, will guest star on Grey's Anatomy in the fall.

Vereen, according to his spokesperson, will play a burn victim on the hit ABC series. His appearance is currently scheduled for October 4.

A star of stage and screen, Ben Vereen made his Broadway debut in Jesus Christ Superstar, earning a Tony Award nomination for his performance. He nabbed the Tony for his work in Bob Fosse's production of Pippin and has also starred on Broadway in Grind, Jelly's Last Jam and Fosse.

Vereen was nominated for Emmy Awards for "Roots," "Intruders" and 1976's "The Bell Telephone Jubilee." He also received Golden Globe nominations for his work in "Funny Lady" and "Ellis Island." He was most recently back on Broadway as the Wizard in Stephen Schwartz's Wicked.

  • Ben Vereen
  • Edward Hermann

Also today, it was announced that Edward Hermann, perhaps best known for his work on Gilmore Girls, will appear on Season 4 of Grey's Anatomy.

Hermann was a fixture on The CW's Gilmore Girls as Richard Gilmore in all seven season of the show. ABC hasn't released much regarding what Hermann's character will consist of on Grey's Anatomy, but it appears that he will play a doctor for at least three episodes.

As for the regular cast, it's been a tumultuous off-season as we know. The Season 4 lineup will be minus Isaiah Washington, who was not retained by ABC amid a storm of controvery, and Kate Walsh, who left to headline her own spin-off series, Private Practice.

Meanwhile, Chyler Leigh has been added as a series regular in the role of Lexie Grey, younger sister of Meredith and new Seattle Grace intern.

so you guys new spoilers are out: 08/01 - I'm hearing Rhimes may stick a fork in Gizzie in the season premiere when the ex-platonic pals are forced to examine their relationship while tending to an, um, unusual patient: a deer. That's right, an injured deer will be admitted to Seattle Grace. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide [Note: It seems that they changed the racoon storyline to a deer one.]
08/01 - In episode 4.03, a mother, Marcy, brings her 15-year-old son Henry to the hospital because she suspects his change in behavior may be due to drugs. When the test results show that Henry is not on drugs, the doctor working the case tries to reassure Marcy by telling her he is going through adolescence. But things go awry when the teen starts to speak nonsense and collapses. A patient named Connie is in for surgery to remove a cancer in her coval chords. Before the operation, she tells two of her best friends stuff she has on her mind since it may be the last time she'll talk. What she has to say is not pretty (your breath stinks, you look fat in those pants, etc.). When she comes back from surgery, her friends decide to return the "favor" and tell Connie that she has terrible taste in men. Not to worry, all friends will kiss and make up! Source: SpoilerFix BuddyTV Spoilers Chat 08/01 - Sources confirm that newly minted Emmy nominee Elizabeth Reaser is returning to Grey's this fall as Alex's erstwhile Jane Doe. An exact episode count is still being worked out, but my spy tells me it's "definitely more than one." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
