"I know nobody believes it's going to happen," says Jean Passanante, but "there's a real commitment on the part of the show to play the story for what it is and that's where we're going. Which doesn't mean that everyone's going to be happy all the time because that isn't how soap-opera stories are told."

as a gay man who tends to watch soap opera's, i am so impressed with as tthe world turns for doing a gay storyline that is based on romance. it is a true testament of that show to have a storyline on daytime tv. this is something that needed to happen because the gay and lesbian community do need some exposure on tv especially that will shed a positive light on us. of course not everyone is going to be happy but soap opera's are not meant to do that. thank you for doing this brave and courageous storyline. the only thing i'm disappointed about is that i can't be noah or luke.
