Happy Belated Birthday, Ellen Pompeo!
The Grey's Anatomy Insider staff would like to extend belated birthday wishes to the lovely, talented woman who literally puts the Grey in Grey's Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo, who celebrated her 38th birthday Saturday, November 10.
A native of the Boston area, Pompeo achieved modest fame with a variety of film roles before starring as Meredith Grey and becoming a household name - not to mention a Golden Globe award nominee and Screen Actors Guild award winner.
Now 38 years young, Ellen Pompeo lives in L.A. with her fiance, Chris Ivery, and their two dogs. Here's hoping we are treated to many more seasons of watching Ellen on Grey's Anatomy as the conflicted and complex title character.
Despite her rise to fame, Ellen Pompeo remains one of the more down to earth stars in Hollywood, and certainly among the most liked by readers of our site. We wish her the best, belatedly, on her birthday and thank her for her work on Grey's Anatomy!

After reading the comment above from Irisheyes I thought I would share as well. In the office that I work in there are a few of us that watch GA and naturally talk about it on Friday mornings and basically throughout the week. There are two girls that have never watched GA that I work with and I told them they were really missing out on a great show and they hear all of us talk about it all the time. I shared my first season dvd's with them and now they are hooked! THey love it! They are both watching season 2 now and they are bringing the disks in as they finish it and handing it off to the other one. One of the girls is always asking me about what happens next, but I won't tell her because I don't won't to ruin any of it for her. SO each morning since they have been watching they can't wait to tell me what they have watched and then I normally say.....Oh the next one is going to be soooo good!
