Justin Chambers Opens Up About Sleeping Disorder

Justin Chambers said in an interview this week that a longtime sleeping disorder led him to check in to UCLA's psych ward earlier this year.

"It's an issue that I've had for a while," the Grey's Anatomy star tells People magazine exclusively in his first interview since the incident.

"It's a biological sleep disorder," he added. "Your mind keeps racing, and your body is tired. It wants to go to sleep, but it can't."

Justin Chambers, 37, who has five children with his wife, Keisha Chambers, 38, says in the two months prior to checking in to UCLA, he was sleeping no more than an hour a week, and reached the point where he absolutely had to act.

"I got to my wit's end," he says.

His public comments follow a somewhat scary article in Star Magazine detailing Justin clearly struggling with his condition during a trip to Palm Springs.

It's hard to say what's just rumors and what actually took place that night, but it's good that Justin Chambers is getting help for this serious medical condition.
