Izzie ads an interesting distractor from the everyday relationship drama between merrideth and derek...I just wish that the strike didn't happen midseason. I think it took away from the momentum of the overall story plot, and her character definitely suffered. I think they need to rework her into the mainstream sory line and put less emphasis on the relationship issues. I think after season two with the merrideth drowning and the major tragedy, the show needs another major story to boost the interest and bring the characters back together...and George needs to take the resident exam over again and stop being an intern. It's strange and it has made a rift between the characters, especially Izzie. I think killing Izzie will only ruin the show. People will become sick of the unrealistic events/drama and become turned off by it.

Nah I think so hun. I watch cause the show is good. Granted I started watching cause of Sara Ramirez but if she was to leave I would still watch and think a lot of people are the same.

Please dont kill Izzie!! I understand that maybe the writers are angry with Katherine, but i have seen the video a few times and still dont understand why everyone is so angry at her! to me i dont think she did anything wrong!!

The George and Izzie romance was why I watched the show. If they have no chance together, I don't care if she leaves. But if they do, I want her to stay. Like many, I quit the show when they ended George and Izzie.

I think it's time for Izzie's character to leave. They haven't had a worthwhile storyline for that character in a year--and part of that is Heigl's fault. She loves comedy, even has a gift for it, but that penchant of hers is making what substance they have tossed Izzie in the past year into 2-dimensional comic relief. Not always appropriate. I find it grating. Note to Grey's writers: Killing Izzie would be superfluous at this point. If you're going to devolve and deconstruct the character (and I really liked Izzie's character on Seasons 1 & 2--thought she added something to the balance of the cast), at least do it in a meaningful way. Pull out a real story line and do it properly--maybe play the daughter angle (Izzie leaves because biological daughter re-enters life due to death of adopted parent) or have Izzie choose, after her Season 4-long crisis about finding her own way, to go into neonatal (Addison said she had a real gift for it) and switches to a hospital that has

I suppose that Heigl's filmcareer is more popular in United States than here, in Sweden for example. Because her last two movies was like ok, fine but boooring...! The filmcritics didn't lift her to the skies so to say. So maybe she should be a little bit careful about what she's saying. Without a shadow of a doubt she wants off Grey's, why would she say something stupid like the Emmy-award comments...
I loved her in season 2 and 3 and she's a really talanted actress but "be careful out there" Katherine, so you won't end up like a "butterfly for one day" as we say in Sweden.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Don't kill Izzie, she the screw up f the group, but yet it is the things she does that make everyone else their own mistakes by watching Izzie... She is one of the best characters in the show, if you are going to kill of the main characters Kill someone no one would expect. Izzie already tried to quit, so people would't find it hard to believe. The answer to the other art of the question is Yes, I think Izzie has what it takes to leave the show, she is a great actress and always plaqy the right parts for her, she if funnyn as hell and she can make you cry, and she can make you feel strong and inferrior and she can make you want to do things you always thought that you could'nt....Izzie ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Meh. For me, I could care less if Izzie died, was killed, or drifted into a lifelong coma and taken off life support by some random guy she fell in love with. But I also think she's a fine addition to the GA family.
As far as Emmy drama goes, I'm completely flustered. I think that despite the fact that actors and actresses (cough cough ELLEN POMPEO cough cough KATE WALSH cough cough) should be allowed at least a nomination! I mean, seriously? How many pictures of them are on the internet in the first place? I think that Ellen and Kate deserved a bigger piece of the pie, and that at least one of them would win.

It's all really balanced. Some don't care, others think she should die, others just don't... My opinion is that they shouldn't kill her off. We got the story at the begining: Once upon a time there was FIVE interns in Seattle Grace Hospital. Meredith, Cristina, Izzie, George and Alex... And it has been complicated ever since.
It's the story, people. All of the drama, all of the stuff... Like Alex said, people go into a bad patch... Katherine Heigl did not acted correctly when she said her plot wasn't worthy an emmy, it was really rude for the writers... But, in fact, it is not... Izzie saved a dear, Izzie flirted with cardio, Izzie broke up with George because they didn't have chemistry, Izzie is all about searching for her life. Izzie has not a story yet... She may have (imo, right beside Alex), if they don't let her go... Katherine Heigl shouldn't leave, because of her fans, and obviously, GA fans... The producers shouldn't kill her off... I could care less if she stays or goes...i am all for the very old guy story line, i had thought the same thing. Let the group visit her like they use to do very old guy and she would have to just lie there and wait for her contract to expire. I rather have Addison back! Besides no Izzy means more time for the other characters which there are alot of! I rather see Miranda get herself a McHottie!! ;)

Please don't kill Izzie. The show will never be the same again without one of the "five interns", everybody knows it. All shows have their uniqueness, and one of Grey's Anatomy's is those five interns TOGETHER. Burke, we can lose (though hard-heartedly), Addison is gone, and no... not Izzie!
I know, her behaviour about Emmy award and all those controversial things that are going on make her feel really bad, ungrateful and make her doesn't deserved to be in the show. But cut her some slack. She just wanted a bigger and more significant story line. That I can expect. Have you people ever thought that maybe she didn't mean to insult Shonda and the series? Maybe she's just making a suggestion for her part to be more significant in future season.

Okay, about the whole emmy drama: I think it's true, she didn't have the greatest storyline ever. BUT she also did NOT act great this season. you know, you can have a crappy storyline and still look decent, but the whole time i was thinking "is she trying to get kicked out?" I really think she's acting so ungrateful because she wants out at all costs.
so let her get out, for heavens sake!
I really don't care for Izzie anymore. I liked her in season 1 and 2. The Danny storyline was great! Other than that, I wasn't really thrilled. She got more and more annoying. Right now, I really wouldn't care if she left somehow.
But PLEASE don't let her die! I don't think anyone should die on that show again anytime soon (Well except for maybe some patients). We've had enough drama to deal with and, like someone said before, it would probably freak Meredith out and then there'd be MerDer drama and we've had that kind often enough. I really don't think a dead Izzie would make a good storyl

I still think she got a bad rap for this. If Eric Dane had said he wasn't considering putting his name for Emmy consideration because his character didn't have an Emmy worthy storyline, I don't think he would get assasinated the way KH is. And she was right to a point, she didn't have a great storyline. She didn't say they were bad writers, just didn't give her the Emmy worthy story. I say, go ahead and kill her off. She obviously has a successful movie career, and if the writers and producers are giving her another "saving a deer" storyline, after she one the show the highest honor at the Emmy's, than she should say to hell with them

ok so i love izzie and the show will lose a lot of followers if she leaves so production and the studios as well as shonda willsuffer if she leaves. she might as well finish off her contract then depart. katherine heigl may not be a great person in real life. but greys anatomy needs izzie stevens
