I think is unfair because the selection to be in the top five didn't depend at all of how good or not the season was, objectively, but subjectively....it's depend of the feeling of the voters. I agree that there're shows like Lost that do it very well, but come on, Boston Legal...that's a parody of lawyers. So was the actors nominations...you did a great job but if you forgot to put your photo for the voters in case they did not remember you or recognized you, you can easily be snubbed..that's what apparently happened with Ellen. So the selection to the Emmy's didn't depend of how really good some show or actor was, depend of perception and it's sad, because an award is something to reward good job...objectively, or at least the more objectively possible...because I get that there's some subjectivity with art, movies, tv shows or whatever...

As much as I love MOST of the actors/characters, The show did not deserve a nod this go round. No matter how bad Greys gets at times. Sandra Oh is outstanding no matter what. Whether she has one line, one word or a paragraph she rocks each and every time. Her performances are always outstanding. She was cheated out of an Emmy last year, so let's see if they can make this right this year. Chandra Wilson is always the forgotten talented actor. She also deserves to win this year. So I figure If they can give an Emmy to someone with NO TALENT. They sure as hell can give 2 for the same category. Both of these ladies have exceptional talent. Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson deserve to win this year. As the Emmys have shown in the past TALENT is NOT a requirement. So this year let talent WIN above all else.!!!

SERIOUSLY ???? if u ask b4 the strike if grey's deserved a nomination or not i'd probably say no ..but now i am really pissed off !! the show as gr8 after the strike, plus it's like the 3rd or 4th time to ignore the rest of the cast .. patrick dempsey really did a good job and Ellen Pompeo was amazing and still they weren't nominated
however i hope either Sandra Oh or Chandra Wilson would win !!

Excuse my language when I say What the heck? I've never even heard of 2 of those shows before. I'm still rather disappointed that Ellen didn't even get in the top 10 nominated list. I feel she really got jipped. Also no Offense to Sandra Oh but I think her work last year should have gotten an Emmy more then this years. She was good this year of course but last years & year's finale was more Emmy worthy for her. I'm also sad Patrick didn't make the finals. I really hope he's get nominated next year.
Oh a side note however Grey's Anatomy is up for quite a few things in the teen choice awards if anyone cares. It's not the Emmy but hey still is nice if they win. There's gotta be a few older teenagers who watch this show besides me.

Oh, and the brain tumor thing may be plausible with or without Izzie dying - if they want to kill her off, that'd be the way to do it, but with Meredith and Derek's clinical trial saved (or so I'm assuming because they saved Beth), they could give Izzie the tumor and then have Derek and Meredith save her - still letting Katherine stay on the show, but also giving her the brain tumor so Denny can reappear.
Just my mind at work, I s'pose.

Oh, I forgot to say before, as much as I love Izzies character when she has good storyline, with all this talk aboput maybe killing her off, at least that should give her some good storylines and capture the interest of people. The writers really do need a wake up call and need to realise that the best of Grey's is when there is lasting suspense (ex: Denny & Izzie and Meredith almost dying). People need something to care abot, something to be worried about. The only "suspense" that sorta lasted for more than one episode this season was the guy with ruptured artery....that needs to be fixed for next season.
I think they should of got a nomination. So not fair! even though the forth season wasn't as good as other season but they still should of got an Emmy nomination and so should Ellen, Patrick, Kathrine and T.R. I hope they get nominated next year.

As much as I love the show, I do consider this somewhat fair. I feel that maybe had there not been the writers strike the show could have had some deeper storylines but there weren't as many episodes this year that really captured my attention and had me hooked because just when something would start to happen it sorta went away because the season was basically squished. There were only two or three episodes I was drawn into, and one of them was the season finale, so it might have been because it was the finale, and other than that last season and saeson two were waaaayy better. The amount of drama was down, and I actually think that the "huge storylines" were given to the wrong characters. I'm sure Callie and Erica were supposed to be a large interest but frankly I only cared about scenes which they were in together in the episode where Addie was there. Anyways, thats just my opinion.
I do find that Sandra & Chandra did deserve their nominations, because the work they did do wa

I admire Katherine - that tooks balls, and I think she was right to do not put anything in to get nominated if you yourself don't feel as if you deserve it.
Honestly, season four sucked, simply put. Didn't serve an Emmy nod. I'm not even sure I would've given Sandra Oh a nomination this year, even though I love her to pieces. Chandra Wilson most definitely, though - she contiunes to amaze me with her acting talent, AND she is not stick thin, which makes me happy. Her and Sara Ramirez put out a good name for all us full-figured chicks ^.~
I also agree with the idea that Patrick didn't deserve a top ten placement, to be honest. He got little to no good material, unlike in seasons past.
Ellen...Ellen should get an Emmy every day of her life. 'Nuff said. Hah!

To be honest I'm glad they didn't get a nomination this year...maybe it will push Shonda and the writers to realize that the show hasn't been good or consistent since Season 3, and I don't even understand why the show got a nomination last year...but I am happy for Sandra and Chandra, they do deserve it, as does Ellen Pompeo...it's really unfair that she didn't get a nomination this year...she was amazing...amd I really don't understand why Patrick was in the Top 10, because even though I think he is a really good actor he didn't have any "Emmy" worthy material.

Why was the show snubbed by the emmys? It's simple, because all this season was a mess (but the season finale)... it wasn't as good as the two previous season... katherine is totally right with what she said, had the writing been good, it would have got a nomination, but it didn't... therefore the writing this season wasn't that good...

In a way it's fair in another it's not the first part of season 4 doesn't deserve a nomination but the after strike episodes were fabulous but this is good so Shonda would wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Season 4 was not good enough for an Emmy. Hopefully season 5 will be much better=).

Season 4 only got good at the end--the writers need this as a wake-up call. They got nominations for 2 and 3 for a reason...they were great. They need to go back to that--the raw emotional honesty.
Ellen Pompeo did get snubbed, this year especially. And of all the years for Sandra Oh to win, I'm not sure this is the one I'd have picked--if she wins this year, I think it's more based off her performance in the show from season 1 to now. She didn't really get much airtime in season 4, to be truthful.

The problem with season 4 is that it is very inconsistant. It is almost like the first 11 episodes and the last 5 are totally different seasons. I think that is mostly where things went wrong. Had some consistancy stayed, it probably could have gotten a nomination.
And personally, I know she was never in the top 10 for nominees, but I think Sara Ramirez was really robbed of a nomination. Her work this season has been consistant, and for the most part, Callie has always been in character. I'm sorry, but some of the stuff that Bailey was given this season was really out of character for her.

This past season was not emmy-worthy. It was very good, patched some things up, but hopefully next season will bring out the original great writing this show used to have. The writers should not be mad at KH just cuz she said she didn't get a story that was worth an emmy. She didn't. She was a whiney cry-baby, and it was annoying, not emmy material. Please bring back the original Izzy!

Completely fair! This might wake up the writers and make them realize something is wrong with the show.
Oh, and DarkandTwistyLee, Chandra and Sandra ARE in the race ;) (thank God)
And I still don't understand why the hell Patrick Dempsey was in the top 10.
