The reality TV world is set to heat up in January. In today's news, we alert readers to when a pair of major show return to the air:

  • American Idol will debut season eight with a two-day, four-hour extravaganza that kicks off January 13.
  • Jason Mesnick tries to become the first Bachelor ever - seriously, the show is 0-12 so far! - to actually marry his chosen mate. That series premiere is scheduled for January 5.
  • As previously reported, new show True Beauty will debut after The Bachelor's season 13 premiere. Vanessa Minnillo will serve as the show's host.
