I don't care about age. I do care that Mexie has NO chemistry and that Lexie acts 10. It is about her personality, not their age difference. My husband is 15 years older.
About George, the problem is if they don't give him something soon, TR will leave and George will never be back. I can't deal with that. I love George too much.

gah! Everybody is so harsh on the Mark/Lexie thing. Age these days really doesn't matter all that much. Ellen Pompeo is playin a character 10 yrs or more younger than her. I know saying this won't change anyone's minds but i've said it anyway. Love them and glad the writers and critics do too. :)

Meredith knows loneliness more than anything. She grew up alone. She was compassionate about William Dunn because she recognizes in him loneliness too. And a profound stage of loneliness that he tried to make her away at the end "I was playing you". I’m not trying to judge the crime. And so didn’t she. But for me she wasn’t creepy at all. She’s truly has a huge heart. A lovely and beautiful heart.

Graysaddiction - watch the program again, they signed the papers to donate his organs AFTER the surgery...those were Izzy's organs...she's dead. It'll be interesting to see it all come out in two week.

If T.R. ends up quitting Grey's I would love to see him on his own show. Or in movies. He's a brilliant actor.

Remember there are only about 48 min of airtime per episode. There are 8 main characters and 5 or 6 minor characters. That doesn't leave much time for each character. You figure that each couple would get one of the 6 segments of the episode. If any couple or character needed two segments then the others are just background for the shot. So don't worry, George will be back. This is season 5, have they hit 100 episodes yet? Syndication minimum. From now on it is all gravy and some of the characters might be ready to do more movies and possibly make more money. I can't see George as a big screen star but several of the other characters might crossover. Or maybe George is getting ready for a spin off. He might become the pediatrics surgeon on Private Practice. There are enough characters to spread around into a couple of new fall shows. Think CSI.

I agree, everyone needs their arc, but even when it was george's arc, all the other characters had something to do, lines to say. Like Alex, he never really had a big story but he still always always had decent airtime where he had scenes talking and joking with Magic or when we saw him participating in the surgeries.
George is acting as Richard's b*tch lately and ALL his friendships, not just the Izzie one, all his relationships, with Bailey for example, have been dropped, so he has about 2 minutes per episode.
This is the first time in the history of the show I remember a regular character being treated that way but if you can prove me otherwise, go ahead.
I don,t want it to be O'Malley's aantomy (well I wouldn't mind as he is my favorite character, but I could live without it), I just want him to have scenes with Izzie, bailey, Meredith, even Alex again where you see the old connections he sue to have with them.
I don't want him to be treated by the others like someone t

oh, and thanks iheartizzie for clearing up who you were making fun of-- I thought it was Shonda and writers who you were poking at all along, but I guess some other fans took it differently. Probably just frustrated, I am sure!

As for Shonda and writers where George is concerned-- I see it as it has to be one of two ways:
Either:
1- They are complete and total whimps who were so scared off by what the Gizzie hater fans had to say that they won't let George go near Izzie
OR
2- They are very smart and manipulating the situation by keeping George away from Izzie (and any storyline, for that matter), so that fans will be clamoring for George to be on screen and Izzie's best friend again, so they will have the blessing of all the fans when they do let them interact again
Of course there's always the possibility of behind-the-scenes tensions, but who really knows???
Whatever the reason, they better move on with some George time soon!!

I will agree with you that George has had quite a bit of drama in the past. But not with the idea that they don't have anything to write about him anymore!!!??? George is a character with so much depth, the writers could go in so many different directions with him. And especially given what's going on with Izzie-- can you really not see how he could be written in to be involved with that? Have you never seen the intense best friends connection b/t George and Izzie?? And here Izzie is sick and talking to her dead ex-fiance, but you really honestly think that George would not notice? That angle alone would give plenty for the writers to write about I think!
As a big George fan, I am not expecting the show to be O'Malley's Anatomy, but George needs more screen time. At any given time, all 5 original interns need to be on the screen. Doesn't mean we need to have a big George-as-the-main-focus storyarc, but it does mean he should be on screen interacting with the other

i happened to love the scene when mer went to his death row thing. and when she started crying! i'm a little confused on george and why he isn't in any scenes...but then i thought about it. he's ahd the most drama, and has always had a storyline since season one. he's slept with everyone but christina and they might just not have anything to write about him anymore.

"they seem to be so self-absorped"-- referring to everyone around Izzy who care about her-- Alex, Mer, Bailey, George, etc (although I think George is hanging back out of respect for the Izzy-Alex relationship). Sorry about not being so clear as to who I meant by "they"!

And, they seem to be so self-absorped and sometimes not take notice of Izzie, but if Izzie were truly dead Mer, George, Alex, Bailey--- they would all be DEVASTATED and crying their eyes out!
graysforever--- I really enjoyed reading your comments. I like your point of view. I myself have not commented much on the Cristina/Hunt story, or more specificially the Hunt story, b/c I am holding my breath and sitting back and hoping that the writers will do it justice. Compassionate. Meredith calls herself dark and twisty, but it took William to show her what "dark and twisty" was all about. It made her think about her personal relationships. Derek, Christina. What she has lost - - what she could have. She tries to protect Sadie and Christina in telling them not to do anything. She tries to take control for the first time - - not just as a person but as a Doctor.
Izzy and Denny - - Denny's as confused as Izzy is. She has some kind of illness that a "medical miracle" will cure, but it will be the whole gang getting togheter to solve it. Kind of liks a "House" thing. "
Chritina and Hunt are so great together. They are the "Ying" and the "Yang" (sorry about that). Having a husband who experienced much the same thing in Vietnam, the writers are all too "close" to the real thing when they write for him.

I'm torn between creepy and compassionate. In a way, Meredith loves pain and emotional battles, so I did't think it was completely out of place to be there. I really did think that maybe Derek would go, just because he's so pro-punishment. Still, I loved that he was outside waiting...and that he was the first to comfort her after such a bad day. These two are really growing. So that last scene, when Mer broke down, has to go as one of my favorites.
The can kill Izzie off that I wouldn't notice. She annoys me. Whatever.
Mark/Lexie are trying to hard to be the new MerDer, even going to the fact that Lexie now broke Mark's penis. Didn't Mer do that already? Little Grey is not Big Grey, it's part of her charm, I guess. I love the new Big Grey so let's not turn Lexie into Mer, PLEASE.

I figure this episode was about the time TR got sick and tired of it, and demanded to be let out of his contract. Good for him for standing up for himself.
You have an amazingly talented person like TR, you give him some respect.
And then all the fans stood behind TR, well most of them, and that makes me proud too.
