Ratings Report: Viewers Shun Life on Mars
Once again, American Idol ruled the ratings world last night.
The Salt Lake City auditions garnered 27 million viewers, according to Nielsen estimates, and reached season highs in viewers and in the 18-49 demographic.
As for other primetime pickings:
- Lie to Me, with 12.1 million viewers, held on to less than half of Idol's lead-in.
- CBS tried its Katie Couric news show at 8 p.m. - and drew the night's lowest 18-49 rating of any non-rerun on the big four networks. Ouch.
- In the the key 18-49 demographic at 10 p.m., an old CSI: NY (as well as a new Law & Order) outdrew Life on Mars.
