I'll choose to ignore the writer's blog. Dude's new, clearly and does't get the importance of having good MerDer hope. Whatever.
As for the episode, talk about intense! Derek lost it tonight and it had been coming for a while. This is a classic case of getting too close to the patient. I think that in a way, he saw himself and Mer in the couple. It was devastating that she died. Also devastating having the mourning husband call Derek a murderer. That was the drop that spilled the glass.
I love Addie but thank God she's gone. I was annoyed at her this episode. So it is ok to be God to save her brother but not to save a patient close to him? Are you kidding me? Also, I think that Addison just got closure on her failed marriage when Alex told her that now Derek is Mer's guy.
The fight between Mark and Derek was beyond intense and painful. I actually thought one of them was going to go off the rails. Mark picked a bad timing into telling Derek about Lexie, I just hope that this

Great epi! We're finally getting to the good stuff.
First off...I'm happy the PP clan is outta here! They take over our show, mess up McDreamy and then get an hour of only their show w/o GA goodies in it. Selfish! :o)
Poor, poor McDreamy! I have a feeling Derek is going to the dark and twisty side and who knows when McDreamy will return. I did find the fight between McDreamy & McSteamy a little hot. >:o)
OK, what I came to REALLY comment on...did anyone else read the writers blog? Happen to notice he said, "Again, it's not going where you think. Know what else isn't? Meredith and Derek." Ahh! They are LEADING us to believe Derek is going to propose. Does this mean a typical GA storyline of get the viewers/MerDer lovers all excited about something happy between these two just to see the ferryboats crash? I hope not...we've been through too much and we need a little bright and shiny! WE. DESERVE. IT.

They said Izzie and George were going to leave so that they maybe can come back as guests in the future, but I can't see any other reason why Izzie's leaving than her dying, so that's a little confusing. But I do think she's gonna die and then George'll be so devastated that he's gonna leave the hospital too.

Can we give poor Alex a break? He has REPEATEDLY asked Izzie to open up to him and tell him what's wrong and she won't do it. What is he supposed to do, drug her and drag her into an exam room? This episode took place the day after he saw her physical symptoms for the first time. Before that he thought that she was working through some feelings about Denny and was giving her space (it actually made me said that he didn't mind her "fantasizing" about someone else.)
He has been a good boyfriend to Izzie and has grown a lot, and considering his childhood and his recent past with Ava, I don't blame him for wanting to run, but you know that he won't. He has been there for Izzie (and Meredith and others) many times before and he will be there for her again. Hopefully George and the others will too.
I know that it is a requirement for most George fans to hate Alex, but c'mon. He has come a long way and is going to feel awful when he finds out that she is really sick and if she d

I have been watching all episodes, and Alex has been a terrible boyfriend. She confided in him about everything, the sex wi9th Denny and seeing him all the time. At first he laughed about it, then he yelled at her. Lats episode he saw her going blind and he told Addie he wanted to run away and now this episode, he doesn't go to a doctor about it or confront her or worry? He is the worst boyfriend ever.
George was worried and she didn't even confide in him and he doesn't spend any time with her except a few seconds. You can bet if he was still her boyfriend, he would have gotten her help way before this.
I am the same as this other person. Because there is so little George, every single scene he is in I treasure even more and I love him more than ever.
He is the only character I still care about so when he leaves, I go too.
As for Slexiepuke, they suck, yuck.

The episode was good but not as good as the one a few weeks ago with the inmate was put to death. That was the best of the season so far. However, I got to say enough already with this Callie lesbian/bi whatever it is. If you are so desperate to have a homosexual or bi relationship give it to George. He needs the airtime please. I basically just turn my head when that mess in on. It is just not working. No one is interested in her. Show more George please. Show more alex.
By the way to those who don't think Izzie and George are gone you are in serious denial. They are out. They may do guest appearances but they are gone. I care nothing what was said by Shonda. She isn't going to give her story away. They are gone.
I wish the writers would rewatch the first season and get back to basics. Focus on those people. The new people give me a headache.

wow, that was the best episode that I've seen so far in season 5.
Derek fight with Mark, that's cool.
But Derek looks really sad, i hate to see that. wish next week he'll be much better.
and what's wrong with izzie, is it true that she have a cancer? can't wait until next week..

That did not look like a normal mole to me. And even if so, those should be checked too, esp. if you are a dr. you know better.
