I can't imagine Izzie without George or George without Izzie, so I guess if they have to leave, I want it to be together. I always hate AI too. I don't want them to leave at all though, especially not my George. The show has been so soulless without hiom and every week, I miss him more and more.
Anyone who didn'y miss him is not a real fan because the REAL George fans won't wtch this show without him.

The only good thing out of this is Alex and Izzie won't end up together. Izzie belongs with George, always has.
I have missed George so much this season and think the show sucks without him.
So I am done watching.

NONONONONO! I don't want them to leave! I love George and Izzie, they are such a big part of the show, it will never be the same without them. But i will of course still watch it, Meredith is my favourite character, I love the show and I will never stop watching it and I never want it to end!

I like all the characters on this show, so yeah, I'll miss them both.(whats with the popularity peeing contests? I mean, to me getting an Emmy/Oscar/Globe while I'm sure is nice doesn't make a good actor or actress. There are plenty people who are left out of nominations that give great performances)I feel like both characters after the first couple of seasons were given poor storylines-that descended into sillyness. (I'm sorry Dead Denny, I'm waiting on the explanation for that one. ).. I mean i know how people love their JDM but I love Johnny Depp too and could probably hear him read the entire phone book. Doesn't mean everybody else would want to. So I don't like the Dead Denny storyline pushed on me. It ruined the character of Denny to me. Not to mention made me resentful of Izzie cuz of it. I mean she's a great actress, and the whole thing made me cringe.
Is it sad to see both TR and KH leave? You bet. But do I blame them for questioning staying on GA? Not really. Not because

First off, the two most talented people on this show are probably Sara Ramirez and Sandra Oh followed very, very closely by Chandra Wilson.
Ellen Pompeo got the part of her life when she landed this role. Patrick Dempsey has ... great hair. ;)
Izzie, in Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3 was my favorite character. She started to redeem herself towards the end of Season 4 and now that she's sick, well, at least she gets to go out with a bang.
Starting in Season 3, I think ever since he married Callie, I stopped liking George. I'm not sure why, but I just never felt any kind of connection with that character.
But both of these characters leaving is going to be devastating to the show, but I'm certainly not going to stop watching it. I adore this show. It's what I wait for every week (and three months in the summer).

I love Katherine, she is great actress and I love T.R. Knight too. I think if they leave this show, it will be end of Greys.

i don't care if george leaves i already prepared myself for that and to be honest i didn't miss him very much the past few episodes...
but if katherine leaves it means i'm going to loose my favorite couple and alex won't be able to deal with izzie's dead or him leaving her however they want to write her out...
and i don't want him to be with anyone else EVER! he and izzie belong together i don't know how his character should make sense without her so he would have to leave too...
that would just leave cristina and meredith from the fab 5... i love them both and i also love merder and cristina/owen but not enough to keep on watching...
seriously I LOVE grey's i stayed around the whole time and suffered a lot of crap but i always stayed around cause i always believed that in the end everything will be fine... but if i can never have alex and izzie happily ever after i give up believing... if this is really true i say goodbye to the show and it hurts me cause i love it so much but it

I'm sorry to say, but 'Grey's' will not exist as a show much longer with T.R. and Katherine gone. As much as one doesn't want to see the show go away, despite the like or dislike of these characters, they both pretty much made this show, and it in turn made them, and did wonders for Katherine's film career. There will be a huge decline in ratings, a much steeper decline than there already is, and as much as it pains me to say goodbye to such a show with great potential to be so much more, it will be gone before too long.

wait, what???? i thought they worked stuff out to keep him, and i know katherine was making noises but i thought they worked it out!
i understand t.r. leaving, they've done done well by him. but katherine? that just plain freaking sucks!!! she's a BIG reason i watch this show (minus the whole dead denny haunting thing....) but seriously?! what will the show do without them?

trey - I watched ER for 7 seasons too many because of Abby Lockhart. I hear ya! Emmy's/Grammy's/Oscars are all just pathetic hollywood/big corporate pandering, though. I give them little credence.

Man, I really hope neither of them leaves. Izzie and George are my favorites. :( The show wont be the same without them.. it'll almost be not worth watching. =X
I love Merder so I guess I wont go that far.
Gahh. I really can't stand the new characters. I guess they are nice for maybe a few episodes but it just doesn't feel the same. *sigh*

I'm really upset about this :( It's been on the cards for a while but it was still a shock to see the news. Izzie is my favourite character loved her since season 1 it will be sad to see her go. I'm not one of these people who dislikes a storyline and throws my toys out of the pram and declares I'm done! I'm never watching again! But I don't think I'll be as keen to tune in every week. I don't think Grey's will be the same without Izzie and George they will have a huge job trying to replace them. Yeah I'm really gutted about the whole thing :(

Grace, as for the ER vs. Grey's subject, it's unfair to compare both shows. True, they're both medical dramas at the core but the focus falls on different subjects.
To Grey's is more of the side of the doctors, their lives, their feelings, everything. In ER is more of the medical challenges that comes with the territory of working int he public system. Grey has a lot of comedy involved, ER doesn't. They're different shows with a lot of similarities.
I think we need to wait and see. When George Clooney exit, people didn't think ER will live on. It did. The same thing happened with Anthony Edwards. Lived on for 6 more seasons. 7, actually. You might think that Grey's isn't strong enough but it just might be.
I'll wait and see what happens...until then, keep the episodes rollin'.

Trey, I didn't say you were loosing it and it's not that you're not entitled to your own opinion but just like you don't like Meredith or Ellen, I do. I'm not going out on a witch hunt because of that so relax. Say what you want, it's America. Free country. Whatever.
To ME it's just that it's a little unfair that Ellen doesn't get the recognizition she deserves. Hence the Emmy's theory. And Golden Globes. Hell, all award shows actually.

And really, guys-- why does this always come down to MerDer fans VS George & Izzie fans??? It's not either or. You don't have to pick one to love and diss the others. I don't quite get your squabbling.
