Clearly I was misunderstood. They've cut the character George's airtime down. A lot.

wtf? this is ridiculous. Why katherine? I love Izzie on greys, i seriously couldnt imagine the show without her. Burke and Addison leaving wasnt too bad. But seriously, Izzie and George? is this a joke? this is horrible...theres no point of moving forward in this show if basically most of the importantcharacters are eventually going to leave the show. I understand why george would want to leave but katherine has plenty of airtime...
Basically, this show wont be worth watching after these two leave.

If Shonda knows whats good for her she is going to start bringing the magic and kissing some major booty! I don't see thye show making it past one season if they both leave.

I agree with you Kristen, this is horrible!! They are both very talented, especially Katherine Heigl. Just because she is outspoken people don't like her. But BECAUSE she is outspoken IS why I like her! This just made my day horrible!!

OMG this is a horrible day for the hardcore, Izzie/George fans!! =( How will Alex cope with Izzie's death, since its obvious that is what will be happening.

drcookchick they are not being cut fromt he show, they both want out of their contracts....
And I agree with Kristen...everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but Izzie and george have been there since the beginning, and the show will never be the same.

I disagree 100%. I have been a fan since the pilot episode as well, and I don't believe they think that the show is all about them. And I definitely don't think they are the ones on the show with the least talent...umm at all.
As a loyal Grey's Anatomy fan, I think this is terrible news, and although I am too loyal of a fan, to stop watching because of this, (I do still LOVE the show) but I think that it will no longer ever be the same. We lost Addison, we lost Burke, we're losing Izzie, and now george...It will never be the same. :(

Don't know what Katie's deal is, but I don't blame T.R. for a second. I've never seen a character cut from a TV show like George has, and I do find that incredibly unfair. A lot of you may not care and think it's alright to say "Good riddance!" (not crazy that you're using the title of a Green Day song...), but there are a few of us out there that are upset about this. And I'm upset that he's leaving, because I love George and T.R. is a great actor. Some of you may not think so, but he does have fans.
I guess after two years I can finally say goodbye to Grey's Anatomy.

OMGG!!!! pleasess dont leave Katherine and TR the show neeedds you guyss!! Ratings are down every since the stupidddddd story line SHONDA decided to write. (DENNYY BACK FROM THE DEAD!!) Find some story lines for TR he deserves it!! WE NEED O'MALLEY!!! =)

The GREYS fans that have been here since the pilot already know this. They BOTH seem to think the show was/is ALL about THEM!!!
Why is it the people with the least talent ALWAYS want to be out front???

I don't get why they don't suck it up for one more year. I agree with you Audrey. TR has been really sucky for the past couple of seasons. It's like after 4 years and a number of back hands to the face his character STILL can't stand up for himself. If Izzie leaves I probably will stop watching. That would make it 4 major character exits over 5 years...not a good record.

I dont' care if TR leaves, he has not been a good cast member since like season 2..but if Katherine leaves, I will not watch Grey's anymore. christina sucks, Mer Sucks...they are so not interesting, Izzie and Alex together, that is amazing and it needs to happen and stay happen. Izzie brings out a side to Alex that no one else has, Alex show's her, she is more than just a pretty face...he keeps her going...DO NOT do this!!
