Elevator Love Letter is a song (a brilliant song, by The Stars). I wonder if it's somehow tied in. The song is not so different from Derek and Meredith - well, Meredith - someone who wants to love but never can let herself. Though it certainly wouldn't lead up to a proposal (in my mind). But it would certainly be the closest thing to the supermarket aisl for him.
I agree that Derek will likely come back and save Izzie. Maybe he'll prove that you can remove a frontal and parietal lobe and have someone live.

I think Derek will write a lot of letters to Mer with clues and finally propose in the elevator! That would be great!

i doubt he'll give her a letter that says "will you marry me?". he'll probably ask it himself. so i don't think it's in the elevator he'll propose. maybe at joe's where they first met.

well....wht a gud news...elevator is going 2 b kinda cool....realy really can't w8 for it...really..and plz fans don't say bad things abt izz..we should not forget all the good things she has done... i thnk derek is now going to see an inspiration in izz to cum back 2 work...p.s i also like what mark is feeling for lexie...atleast now we can expect he can stop being a manwh---....agree???

oy, fellow med students out there.. just which symptoms are you talking about? and in which lobe is this tumor supposedly located? "having mind-blowing sex with dead ex-fiancees" is not listed as a symptom in any of my neuro textbooks. enlighten me please :D

obviously he is going to propose in the elevator! what are the chances that derek would give her a way to run lol. nah, she'll say yes, she already said she wants babies.
whatever is wrong with izzie, ill be sad if she goes, the people who are sick of her and whatever, remember that izzie is one of our people, she's an original cast member and she adds to the dynamic of the show just as any of the others, but guys. seriously, at least think about the history of the show before you forget how important izzie has been.

I just don't understand how it can be something with her brain, but have it show up on the biopsy results for a mole on her back?!?!?! That just doesn't make sense to me....
I can't wait for "Elevator Love Letter"...but 4 weeks seriously!!!

Thanks CaitlynShea, for the medical opinion. That's what I thought too (I didn't think Shonda was lying-- just like she's not lying about KH & TR not going anywhere!), but I don't have the medical background to back it up with!
Oh, and I too am hoping and praying for an elevator proposal!!!

I'm a med student, and I agree with the spoiler post - Izzie definitely displays classic, textbook symptoms of a brain tumor. However, sometimes things present as classic cases and turn out to be something else, something rarer, that manifests itself in a similar set of symptoms. It is possible that Izzie has a different brain condition which displays symptoms consistent with a brain tumor, though it may not actually be a tumor. A think this is more likely than the "Shonda lied" explanation.
Also, I agree on the MerDer front - elevator proposal!

I think Isie is going to have something wrong with her brain and the only person she will have operate on it is Derek and that is what persuades Derek to go back to Seattle Grace after he has quit :)

I don't think that Izzie has a brain tumor...I'm still thinking aneurysm. Maybe she needs a lil "pepto"....throwing up is a known symptom, of a brain abnormality of any type...who knows. What I do know is I am PISSED that I have to wait 3 WEEKS to see a new episode! UGH
