Alexis Grace Eliminated; American Idol Field at 10
Tuesday's country night generated more than 31 million votes from viewers, and the surprising results were announced on American Idol Wednesday.
We thought she would be safe, but Alexis Grace instead landed in the back of the pack after delivering a weakish rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene."
Because of the newly instituted Judges' Save rule - and because the judges have liked her so much - Alexis Grace was permitted to sing an encore.
But it wasn't enough. As they did a week ago, the judges declined to oust her from elimination. Instead it was time for a farewell performance ...

The other singers with Alexis in the bottom three were Michael Sarver and Allison Iraheta. The judges told Sarver in no uncertain terms that he would not have been asked to perform an encore had he finished last. Ouch!
In any case, the Idols Live touring roster this summer is now complete, with 10 finalists remaining heading into next week's third finals episode.

Get rid of mcintyre...just coz he is impaired doesnt mean he can sing...he aint that good. there are more better singers..

I'm never voting for a singer who lifts their fingers up off the mic! So annoying.
Scott is sooo boring and can't sing. End the pity votes.
The only logical reason the producers added the judges' save is to make some sense of the final singing done by the loosers. And, they are not going to use it except to save a real stand out like Matt, Lil or Adam.
Boring that the final 10 include only 3 woman!

I am disappointed. I will not watch American Idol anymore. I thought the way they eliminated her was horrific. I can't stand Kara.

You call this stuff peculiar. Why is it that there haven't been any decent black singers since Ruben Studdard and Fantasia Barrino? All the ones that have come since those two have been really alot lower caliber than folks that i see singing in the church choir. Alot of manipulation with this show.

Just a reminder here. The women are in trouble because young guys and men don't vote in anywhere near the numbers that girls and women do. There is no way our 16 year old rock and roller should have placed in the bottom three. And while Alexis hasn't been great she has far more talent than oil rig guy or ScottM. for that matter. Judges should have used their save here. When they finally do use it to save Adam, Scott, or Chris, they will be guilty of rigging.

Not going to watch anymore as the judges got it totally wrong.no way alexis was worst on the nite,the 2 female judges rave over some of the male singers,there were some awful performances,alexis was easy in the top 5 x the judges are clueless
