As far as Getty's status goes, E! Online reports that the actor will return to Brothers & Sisters in a recurring role next season. This will likely also be the case for Sarah Jane Morris, who plays Tommy's wife Julia.

What in that character's immediate future?

"I can say that she considers moving home to her parents in Arizona," Morris said.
