I don't blame George either. He was angry. But it is more like a scared/grief kind of angry. Like w/ his Dad.
Who do I blame, really?? ALL of them! I was appalled last night! That Alex, George, Mer and Cristina did not spend any time w/ her before she went into surgery. Bailey kicks *ss. But you know, Bailey has caught Izzie first when she's fallen before-- the Hannah situation. No one even noticed something going on w/ Izzie at first, but Bailey did and helped her. And then George was with her.
George is scared out of his wits. And I'm sure he was hurt about her not telling him-- more than the others, b/c he is her person and b/c he NOTICED and ASKED HER many times and she wouldn't talk to him.
I want more George too. And I want some touching Gizzie scenes. Like Callie said, they are best friends afterall.

I don't blame George either. He was scared of losing her, and he was right to be angry. He is her eprson and he begged her to tell him, and she didn't.
To be honest, I am a Gizzie fan but I only like Izzie with George. Without him, she isn't that likable. I don't hate Alex but I hate him with Izzie.
I want more George. He is the only guy I really love with Derek.

This was such a great episode. I love Alex & Izzie, they're my favorite characters, I love seeing Alex being vulnerable/there for Izzie. I thought the engagement was perfect, so MerDer! I loved the fact that he had the scans from their major surgeries together, amazing!!

I agree with you somewhat Katie. Even as a gay woman, I am not too keen on seeing graphic sex scenes on the tv regardless of who they are between. I think it would be nice though if we could see a little more of them together. I hope that after the major drama's of Izzie and the proposal and whatnot, we will.
I personally think they work better than Callie and Erica as they seem to both be more fun loving, rather than one stoic and one carefree. I really really hope that ABC keep up with this story as more people are accepting it than they did with Erica.
I know that alot of people are not happy with Greys signing on new cast members, but I honestly think that Jessica Capshaw is doing a fantastic job. I really hope they sign her as a regular for next season. Even if she wasn't in a relationship with Callie, I think her character is very refreshing.

I think they are doing the Callie Arizona thing right. I think that thrusting us into the girl on girl sex thing was much. I mean it was just quick and very discriptive I don't think were had gotten used to the romantic part of the relationship. I think that we needed to see the relationship evolve more before it go there. I'm not homophobic but as this type of relationship is not something that most of us are used to seeing that descriptive, it just needs to move a bit slower. So that WE have more invested in the relationship and are rooting for the characters more.
Just my 2 cents on that relationship.

Hello you definitely don't get the George scene. He wasn't angry, he was terrified of losing ehr and hiding it under anger. His dad died of cancer not that long ago and it broke him or did you forget? He got angry back then too, but then when his dad needed him, he was right there and when his family needed to make the decision, he did. He let his dad go.
Now his best friend in the world is facing death, and he is terrified she will die like his dad did.
Callie is over George and feels guilty for wishing her death. Izzie doesn't mean half to her than she does to george so of course it is easier for her to show up.
I'd also like to remind you thta not ONE of them except Bailey showed up to see Izzie before surgery. Not Alex, not Mer, not Cristina, just Bailey.
They were in the room once but they didn't even say a word to her.
And yes, you are the only one that wanted to see Alex give his sperm. Just gross!

Yes! He proposed and it looked like the third time's the charm...so wonderful. The elevator decorated with all those CT scans are just so romantic, only the two of them can understand such a thing and it was just so cute how the Chief didn't want her to take the other elevatore, acting all weird and stuff.
The Owen-Christina scenes are just touching, it's sweet how she understood that his PTSD choked her and how she was consoling him about it but it almost made me cry when after their wonderful sex, she told him she's scared to sleep with him...and Meredith and Callie are feeling very protective of Christina.
George needs to stop thinking about himself and think about Izzie...he's getting all pouty because she didn't tell him first. Even Callie was there even though he cheated on her with Izzie.
Arizona and Callie are kind of cute...at least, they're little thing is going somewhere. It's like Christina and Mer dancing...except these two are lesbians.

THEY ARE ENGAGED! Wow, I'm so happy right now! The proposal was absolutely perfect! I got tears in my eyes when they were in the elevator. omg, this episode was awesome! Now I can't wait for them to get married! And for a McBaby!

Great episode!!!! what i liked best was justin's and katherine's performances. They were so real and felt so close. The fear in izzie's eyes(without even saying one word)..Come ON! and when she says to bailey the scarf was for her, It was just hesrt broken...
All i have left to say is: PLEASE DON'T KILL IZZIE!!!!!

The relationship bonds in this episode were great.
Alex/Izzie -Stronger, more committed. Doomed, its inevitable.
Chris/Owen - Weaker, more confused, but still needing each other. I hope they get back together.
Callie/Arizona - Getting better the more we see. Loving them so much and want to see more.
Callie/George - Great to see her being the strong one and kicking him in the right direction.
Mer/Der - Yeah well. It was going to happen some day. Next drama please.
Bailey/Izzie - Izzie needed someone, and Bailey was perfect. No doom and gloom.
Mark/Lexie - Blink and you missed their scene.
It was cute how all the interns were waiting anxiously too.
Over all a great epsiode. I just wished they had cut out some of the chaff. Like the old woman and her crappy family.

Awesome episode. I read that someone wrote that they thought the Izzie being in the hospital was rushed. I disagree. I think that they are preparing us for what is going to happen. Izzie sitll has 3 HUGE surgeries left, not to mention chemo and radiation. I think this was more about her friends realizing that Izzie is ACTUALLY in the hospital, is a real patient, when the showed the close up of her empty chair, that is when you can see that they are all slowly realizing, that this is real. It is actually hapeening. This episode was amazing, and I have a feeling this was just a pre cursor of what is to come! It is going to be a long 3 weeks.
By the way I thought that Justin Chambers was absolutely AMAZING in this episode! His vulnerability was heartwarming! We are back to the Greys that I personally have loved....even though I never ONCE stopped loving it!

This is epi was really great. I loved the proposal in the elevator - it was perfect. Way to go Shonda. And way to go Mer to trust yourself to enter into this with Derek. I love Cristina & Owen too, and I'm proud of Cristina for backing away - I think it will work out in the end.

I CRIED WHEN MERDER WERE IN THE ELEVATOR!!!!
That was the most amazing romantic scene.. :-) It was exactly what we have been dying to see FOREVER!!! I remember the first time Derek told Mer he was in love with her in the beginning of season 3, and now their love is official! Mer FINALLY said "I love you" back to Der and they are engaged!!! YAY!! DREAM COME TRUE!!! They have amazing chemistry and this is going to be great!! Cant wait for the wedding, and for the mcdream house to be built!!!
And OMG thank god izzie's surgery went well. I was so nervous! That cancer doc was being such an ass. I felt so bad for alex though.. His break down made me tear up... And the cris/owen storyline is so good, I can't believe he strangled her!! But their sex scene was so beautiful, you can see that he really does care for her and doesn't mean to hurt her.
Overall, SPECTACULAT EPISODE!!!! Thanks shonda!!!
p.s. poor callie for thinking that its her fault izzie is sick, and poor george :-(

WOW! Just WOW! Derek has raised the bar for men everywhere!! Well he's def raised my standards. I knew he was going to propose to her in an elevator but never in my wildest dreams would i have been able to guess that. I was surprising and sweet.

I absolutely, freakin' LOVE the proposal!! I was kind of sad though that Cristina and Owen broke up, and that when Meredith went to tell Cristina that she was engaged, the mood was almost ruined. But, Meredith and Derek are ENGAGED!
