I also didn't mean to start anything. Let me rephrase what I said about Gizzie not taking responsibility and then I'll shut up :) While I did see George own up to his guilt, I wish that he could have been kinder about it to Callie instead of just saying sorry, leading her on about having a baby and then forcing her to actually end the relationship so that he could still be the "good guy." Izzie, on the other hand, said something along the lines of "I fell in love, whats so wrong with that" and she seemed utterly baffled as to why her friends wouldn't 100% support their relationship. It was her attitude, not George's that I disliked so much. Plus the writers kept giving her these speeches about their love being like a rare bird and like Bambi out in the woods, etc. She just became too much for me and for these reasons, this relationship caused me to dislike her more and more.

i didnt like gizzie together. it felt like incest! seriously!
i prefer alex and izzie. she makes him more human than ass.
george cant be with izzie bcos she is way too pretty for him [and he will keep having ego problems and complex when good looking macho type dudes talk to izzie, and she will ahve to keep re-assuring him, which will break their r/ship up]
though it seems like alex n george have been pitchd against each other for a long time. [they both failed exams and re-took it, the elevator surgery....etc]
alex must win, karev rocks!
george should go find himself a nurse who will see him as a demigod. [BTW i dont dislike alex]

Hey guys, let's calm down a bit.
No need to fight just because we don't like the same couples.
TDS, I don't agree about GI not taking responsibility for their actions. I think they did, more than most people do on this show.
I was against the one-night stand but I blame Shonda for this.
She could have put our couple together the right way. Do you imagine how frustrating it is for us to have waited since day 1 for those two and then they put them together that way.
It seemed she never wanted them to succeed and it is unfair to all the Gizzie fans.
I hated the affair, but I loved how happy they made each other, how they were there for each other like during the Hannah crisis. I loved how happy Izzie was when he said I love you too. She just glowed.
I loved them smiling at each other on the bench. It was just so pure and beautiful.
There was something magic about them, and every other couple seems to pale in comparison since them. They ruined all the other couples f

TDS, thank you for your thoughtful, well-stated personal opinion. I understand how you feel. I'll try to write a post that runs contrary to popular opinion on here and I either get ignored or attacked. I happen to like several relationships that aren't well-liked apparently (Mexie, A/I, etc.) and sometimes just mentioning how cute I thought they were in a particular episode gets me posts commenting on how I must be an idiot, immature, etc. to like such a couple, how incestuous, abusive, etc. said couple is and so forth. It's gotten to the point where some of the time I don't even post because I don't feel the need to have my opinion savaged by other people. I don't write that anyone needs to "love" my couples more than others, and I don't attack the other couples beyond stating why I personally don't care for them, but that doesn't seem to stop people on this site. Who knows, I might get blasted for this post, for stating that I'm tired of getting tirades just for stating my opin

OMG-- I didn't mean to start a holy war! I saw some Gizzie support here and I wanted to celebrate!!! And I wanted to discuss Alex and Izzie and George and Izzie.
I don't mean any disrespect to AI fans, especially you, TDS. Keep in mind it's been a long, rough road for us wary Gizzie fans. Really, even those who aren't fans can admit that the lack of Gizzie interaction and lack of George screentime is just not right. We may have been dragged around a lot over the past year, but we certainly are passionate about our cause!!
Kim- I like the way you just put it. Very to the point and sums up for me.
How about we call a truce to this battle b/f it becomes an all-out war. Really, who knows what direction Shonda & Co. are going to take the Alex-Izzie relationship and the George-Izzie relationship? I mean, sometimes when I think I know which way she's going, she does a complete 180.
There was a spoiler a ways back about George and Alex having to pull together for Iz

I think George and Izzie bring out the very best Izzie and George, the REAL Izzie and George.
Izzie is a stranger with Alex, a stranger I don't really like.
And George is so sad.

Well I'll be respectful. I completely disagree about George and Izzie never taking responsibility. For goodness sake, george took the full responsibility of his marriage failing on his shoulders. He apologized many times and said he was completely wrong. if that is not taking responsibility, what is?
Izzie said they were wrong too in their one scene after they broke up, saying she made a mistake by sleeping with a married man.
I agree with the person saying they are the one couple who took responsibility for their affair.
Alex never took responsibility for any of his mistakes. He didn't feel guilty at all about sleeping with Ava even though he had met her very swet husband.
I am not trying to be rude, but did you ff the Gizzie scenes or what? I don't get how you can claim they didn,t take responsibility when they did, but like Bailey said, it takes two people to wreck a marriage and Callie got George to elope when he was not even in his normal state.

Wow. This is why I don't often post on this site and will certainly keep my opinions to myself from now on. I was trying to be respectful and give my reasons for why I prefer A/I to Gizzie and I don't state things as fact that are 100% opinion (including that Shonda "gave in to the haters" whatever that means.) I also wanted to state that my feelings about Gizzie weren't because I wanted A/I but rather the way that the characters themselves acted.
If you actually READ my post you would see that I said that it was NOT the adultery that I minded so much because this is Grey's (and I'm not a Mer/Der fan). It is that BOTH characters became completely selfish and whiny, NEVER taking responsibility for their actions, especially Izzie.
Sabrina, Wilma & Nikki - Obviously we aren't ever going to agree since you all think George is perfect and I love Alex because he is flawed and complex. I never once mentioned Alex's looks, so that is obviously something you have thought about

Agree, everyone on this show had affairs. George and Izzie had a drunken one-night stand. George got married when he was half-crazy with grief. They then tried very very hard to stay away from each other. George was even willing to change hospitals to resist his feelings for Izzie.
George didn't lead anyone out. He stayed away from izzie, something Derek didn't do when he reunited with Addison. He stalked Meredith all the time then they had sex with Addie in the other room.
Gizzie had one kiss that George broke off.
Then when George knew he loved Izzie, he told Callie about it. He went to her and told her. He apologized and took complete responsibility. Nobody on this show has ever done that.
George is the only guy on this show who ever take responsibility for his actions. Callie took no responsibility for ehr part in the marriage breakdown. The fact that she had George elope when he was half crazy with grief.

Yes Alex did see the signs and ignored it. He told Addison he wanted to run away then didn't do a thing about it. Of course he saw, he lives and sleeps with her. He didn't see the mole on her back though, what kind of idiot sleeps with a woman and doesn't see a mole?
Geeorge on the other hand barely spent any time with Izzie but he knew, without any signs or clues. He loves her and knows her that well, and unlike Alex, he confronted her about it. George is no coward.
That is why he not Alex is the guy for Izzie.
And give me a break with the adultery thing. Every single couple on this show is based on adultery, including MerDer. So why are Gizzie the only one taken to talk with it when they are the only ones who actually took responsibility for it?
Oh I forgot, George doesn't look as good in a wife-beater as jerk Alex. I forgot so many shallow people watch Grey.
Gizzie will always be a billion times the couple Alex and Izzie is.

I am the opposite. To me, George is the only person that makes Izzie likable and tolerable. She is sweeter with him, she is happier with him. That is something Katie Heigl pointed out herself.
Izzie glowed when she was with him.
With Alex, she just seem like a selfish self-obsessed and sex-obsessed girl I don't recognize.
George brought out the very best in her, the very nicest in her.
Plus I just don't feel that connection between AI or the chemistry.
Yes he took her off the bed, but it was easy to be there for ehr while Denny was in the way. When Denny was sick and she really needed him, he was awful to her and took pleasure in Denny's pain. Remember his nasty smile as Denny screamed out in pain?
He was nasty to Denny because of Izzie and he is nasty to George because of her. He wants her all to himself and continues to be a jerk to everyone around.
She told him her symptoms and he made it all about himself.

Still, he did pay attention to her, to the little things and tried to understand them.
I find people a little bit unfair when they say she would've been better off with George. I guess I just feel for Alex.

Greysaddiction - I also agree with everything you said, great post! Except Gizzie vs. A/I, and I'd like to explain why. First I have to say that while this was going on, I wanted Alex with Addison, so it wasn't because I wanted Izzie with Alex that I didn't believe them as a couple. I always saw it as George subconciously trying to get out of his marriage and Izzie panicking because everyone was moving on and she was alone without Denny. (I don't think it was a coincidence that she slept with George the same night that Alex told her he had a date. Not that she wanted to be with Alex, but that the one guy she thought would always be waiting in the wings was moving on).
I think that Izzie and George have a wonderful friendship and may have an even deeper connection than Izzie and Alex in some ways and that they do love each other. I did see some chemistry between them and I wasn't overly concerned about the adultery, considering what else has gone on in Grey's. My main problem w
