How I Met Your Mother Recap: "Old King Clancy"

at . Comments

On last night's How I Met Your Mother, Ted learned that he was actually fired from the GNB headquarters project months ago.  Due to an elaborate lie by Marshall and Barney to protect him, Ted continued to work there.

Meanwhile, the gang spent the episode discussing which celebrity they'd want to sleep with and Robin revealed she already slept with one.  She makes the gang guess who it was, what objects he collect, and what crazy Canadian sexual position (from a website) he wanted to do.

The Old King Clancey

Find out how Ted responded to months of being lied to in our "Old King Clancy" recap.

Here's some of our favorite quotes from this instantly classic episode:

Barney: If I could nail any celebrity it would definitely be Scarlett Johansson. Hot, talented and nobody does that many woodie allen movies without some serious daddy issues | permalink
Ted: I just got screwed by my two best friends and I didn't even know it
Lily: In Canada that's called a sneaky snowflake | permalink
Ted: Well after he proposed a vocational paradigm shift, I made an impromptu presentation using a four pronged approached that really brought him to his knees
Barney: Hit him with a chair?
Ted: Yep | permalink

HIMYM Quotes

Barney: Ladies and gentlemen, I have in my hand a copy of tonight's Top Ten list. The category: top ten things I would've called my truck...
Ted: It was never your truck.
Barney: if Ted hadn't been a jerk and given it back.
Ted: It was a rental.
Barney: Number ten, "The Winne-Bango." Number nine, "The Pick-Up Truck." Number eight, "The Ford Explore Her." Number seven, "The You Scream Truck." You Scream. (they all laugh) Number six, "Feels on Wheels!" Hello! Number five, "The Ride Her Truck." Number four, "The 18-Squeeler." Number three, "The Esca-Laid." Number two, "The Slam-Boney." and... the number one thing I would've called my truck if Ted hadn't been a jerk and given it back... "The '69 Chevy."

Sometimes things have to fall apart to make way for better things...we're done here.
