I have two theories on how it actually could be MerDer getting married.
1st:
Shonda or whoever it was said there will be a surprise on which ones getting married. And there are many that don't believe that the ones getting married are MerDer, because it's too soon after the engagement and it's too predictable. So the fact that so many thinks it's too predictable and therefore believe they do NOT get married, it comes to them as a surprise if they do.
2nd theory:
Let's say that some other couple decides to get married first, maybe Slexiepuke or Izzie-Alex, but then for some reason walks out of it. And then MerDer decides to get married instead. That would make it their wedding day right? And it would be a surprise, since there was actually another couple that would get married in the beginning.

I so want MeDer to get married! They SHOULD be the ones getting married, since it's the 100th episode and everything. If there is anyone getting married in that episode it should be MerDer. It may be too soon, but I don't care! I've waited for this such a long time. I've got my hopes up now with all this news that it is their wedding day, so please don't ruin it for me :( I'll be so disappointed if I have to wait till season 6 or whenever it's gonna happen instead if that's the case. Another couple can't get married on THEIR wedding day! That's not fare. Why do they have to mess around with MerDer all the time. But at least we KNOW there will be a union so if that, unfortunately, not means a wedding, then I hope it will be a pregnancy.

Am I the only one who can barely understand posts by "fan of the show"? And um, yeah. I'm SURE Cristina or Izzie would "stand in" for Meredith getting married to Derek. How does that make any sense?
I also cannot believe that there are people who actually think George and Izzie should get married. Seriously? There are people out there who thought that romance WORKED? It was the most awkward thing I've seen on TV since George slept with Meredith. It made me physically uncomfortable watching it. George and Izzie work as FRIENDS... nothing more.

How about a double wedding? The two Grey sisters get married at the same time? Or Meredith/Derek and Cristina/Owen?
Or Meredith/Derek and Alex/Izzie.

Of course, Derek could be angry because of substitution thing and could say to the priest that he wants Cristina now. Richard will send them to specializate at some neuro center as wedding present
and Derek and Cristina will divorce on ferryboat.

fan of the show, Cristina father died in a car accident when she was 9. Her mom is a housekeeper and her stepfather is the dentist.

Of course Subsituting will be entirely Cristina's idea. He mom is a dentist but her father could be a lawer.
