Ratings Report: Viewers Love George Clooney

No shock here: George Clooney's return to ER last night drew great ratings for NBC.

The appearance of Doug Ross (and Carol Hathaway and John Carter and Peter Benton and Susan Sarandon) earned the show about two million more viewers than usual.

Among other primetime pickings:

  • Grey's Anatomy (13.5 million) was the top show in the 18-49 year-old demographic.
  • Ugly Betty (7.2 million) showed some improvement. 
  • Smallville (3.7 million) was over its season average.
  • Airing its first new episode in more than a month, Supernatural (2.8 million) held steady with its season average.
