Yeah I think it could be George that rings her Mum as well. When Izzie wanted to know that recipe George kept saying to just ring her, that Mum's always want to hear from you etc

it could be george who calls. recall the episode in season 3 when iz comes back to SGH to clean out her locker and shows up to the m&m. after the end of it george threatens to call her mom and throws out his cell phone like he was going to. izzie freaks out and says she'll stay for the day. we're going to have to wait and see. by the way, we're going to have to wait 4 weeks after elevator love letter to find out, since there's no new episodes in between march 26th, and april 23rd.

im not sure whats gonna happen, but what i want to happen is that alex finds out about izzies metastasis melanoma and calls her mom. im really excited and i hope izzie doesnt die!

There was an episode where Izzie adviced a teen pregnant girl to give her baby to adoption, the girl was from the same town as Izzie and she said that her mom still lived on the trailler park.
Will be intersting seeing Izzie mom on the show and their interaction.

From past seasons, it sounds like Izzie's mom was a single mom, they lived in a trailer park, and were probably pretty poor. Her mom probably had a hard life growing up and Izzie had to put herself through college and med school so her relationship is strained, but re the cupcake episode, she still loves her (her mom's pet name for her was Cricket, cute) and even when growing up is tough, when the time comes, we all need our mothers! Love Sharon Lawrence--can't wait for this episode. Go Grey's, you always get the best guest stars.

I'm not surprised they'd bring her mom on. She has a mother.. and she's sick with cancer.. of course she'd call her mom or her boyfriend/friends would call her. They have never mentioned her father, have they?
Can't wait to see what happens! Izzie is fantastic and means alot to the show.. I still say, if she's leaving, don't kill her off. She can always make reappearances (like Addison) :)

Izzie's Mom... interesting. Obviously she's coming b/c Izzie's sick. But what will she be like?? This is pretty much uncharted territory... all we know is that Izzie grew up in a trailer park, she doesn't talk to her much and that Izzie got pregnant in HS. I bet her Mom was young when she had her too. I bet she's the controlling type. But that's a total guess.
This is gonna be good, I think!!!

Izzie spoke to her mom in Season I......in the episode with the psychic guy. She was trying to remember the ingredients in her cupcakes (it was coconut extract, I think), and she called her mom and said, "Hi Mom, it's me, Cricket". That was right before the scene when Derek takes Meredith to his property for the first time and he tells her all those little things about him (one of my all-time favorite Mer-Der scenes!)

WHEN DID SHE TALK TO HER MOM??
SHE DOESNT HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH HER.. THIS CANT BE GOOD, SHE PROBABLY COMES WHEN IZZIE HAS THE SURGERY... MAYBE CHRISTINA CALLS HER. OR TELLS IZZIE TO CALL HER.

I remember in a season 1 episode it was something like, Izzie never really spoke to her mum anymore but she spoke to her on the phone at the end of the episode.

i don't know?! i think that her mommy will be there when Izzie spills all the dieing stuff to everyone elce or actualy dies! hopefully not though!
