  1. luvleighton Says:

wow there seems to be alot of constructive criticism here - most of which i agree with too! :) so let me just add my two cents worth:

like most posts i read the ONE most important thing i have to say is - bring back season 1 GG where the characters were acting like their actual high school age and not in line to run a multimillion dollar company - but that's NOT to say that all that rich highschoolers would do is hook up with every other person they can hook up with >< Bring back those good storylines that dont just centre around who's going out with whome [i found it just as more entertaining watching chair scenes with underlying sexual tension while they plot the downfall of an innocent victim than watching them actually making out]

i also think that GG could concentrate more on the blair/serena friendship - their scenes are always so memorable whether they're spending a girls' afternoon together or pulling each others' hair out.

i LOVE chair (as do most ppl) and usually if i could say anything to the writers the first thing would have been: MORE CHAIR! but i feel like that story line has been dragged out so much it has lost its appeal. love triangles have been done and re-done and done again - do something different with their awesome dynamic - leighton and ed are amazing actors so put that into good use writers!

  2. Sara Says:

In my opionion, Gossip Girl is getting that spark back from S1 with "The Grandfather" and hopefully the upcoming "Remains Of A J".. we just have to holdon this week to have it fully back!

I know the Chair not being together factor is really messing with the viewers, but I agree w/ Josh the journey is something to enjoy and just really go through with Chuck&Blair, in the end it will make them one of the most epic couples ever and will give more depth to their relationship. It will make them so much more, and allow us to experience the journey of cries and smiles w/ them. It will make them , them CHAIR. We need to be understanding and enjoy the journey because its going to be a hell of a one.

I really can't wait for my Mondays!

  3. I WANT CHAIR! Says:

I JUST WANT MORE OMG MOMENTS!!
is that too much to ask for??
    oh
    and we need chair
    stat!

  4. Guest_1 Says:

Serena and Dan should get together towards the end..I'm tired of Rufus and Lily they are adults acting like teenagers..And I would like it if Blair could get into Yale or some college and get her life back together.

  5. BlairVanessa=LOve! Says:

Writers Don't put Vanessa out of the show...we need her! oh and make sure NV are endgame..meaning they belong together.

    I love Blair!

  6. what if Says:

ok ok so in the promo vanessa is kind of like asking chuck if there hook up means nothing. so what if she's all "oh im starting to like you" and he's all "hold up chick i love blair" and then.....damn.....well.....oh fuck it chuck and vanessa together sucks bigtime. I'm still going to watch monday but it's going to kill me seeing the two of them. Good god writers, why are you doing this to me?

  7. alex Says:

I have some sage advice for the CW-

    STAY CLOSER TO THE BOOKS.

  9. Better Plots! Says:

I love vanessa she's my favorite but the writers need to give her a better plot line! I don't think it matters about the whole social class thing because it's cool to mix it up. oh and NV need a more angsty plot line, like make her pregnant or something. The writers need to spice up NV because I love them and I know for sure that they are endgame. So yea please please make V more awesome than she already is and the same goes for NV.

  10. Dear Says:

Keep Blair as the central character but stop making her life miserable! Ever since Season 1 Episode 1, it's been pity pity pity. Blair never gets anything good or what she deserves. At least have her get into Yale. Of all the fake things that happen on this show, at least have the hardest working student get into a decent college.

  11. michelle a. Says:

While I don't like Vanessa's character at all, I do agree that it's because her place on the UES is so unbelievable. Let's all be honest, people date/interact within their own social circles. The only reason why Dan/Serena, Nate/Jenny happened is because they all go to the same school. Vanessa is a long shot for the writers. I think she should be the representative for Brooklyn and should have romantic relationships with filmmakers and artists. I honestly think her and aaron rose would have worked out rather nice. Dan and Serena are the only believable poor/rich dynamic couple. So while I don't like Vanessa and could care less about learning about her past, if they are going to keep her, at least let them put her in her element which is in the urban art movement of NY and not among the upper elite. Also, Vanessa is not always nice and caring to everyone. If she was she wouldn't have stolen Nate's letter and she wouldn't always be creeping around the UES and blackmailing the main characters (Blair).

  12. headbands&scarves Says:

    yes yes yes!!!
    totally agree.
nate and chuck for sure need scenes together, and the show definately needs to include more high school related things. the play was a good start. we havent seen anything school for a while, unless its blair complaining about yale (yawn).

  13. lolly Says:

    I agree with this -

Lastly, focus on high school elements like prom, graduation, and just the general environment more. Now, we hardly ever see them interacting in the hallways, unless it was a scene involving Ms. Carr (ew). There should be a whole slew of opportunities there. There should be more friendship interactions as well- I've always been a sucker for some laugh-worthy Dan and Blair scenes.

And, I love Jessica Szohr, Lord knows I do but if the writers won't give her an interesting storyline, let her go (as much as it'll hurt my dear heart!). Earlier she was crazy about Dan, right? Let see Vanessa and Dan try to get together and fail miserably since they can't be more than friends. That'll be interesting. Also, she doesn't even get a lot of air time so can she be a support system for Rufus, Dan and Jenny in every aspect of their lives and stay out of the Upper east sider's lives. I can't imagine why she and Nate are dating. Don't get it. Don't believe it and now that J and E are a real life couple, I don't see chemistry between V and N in fact, it doesn't exist. It will also be nice to see more about her life.

There is so much potential for Jenny. Hook her up with someone. Let see how she'll deal with sexual pressure or haters who hate her because she so fashion inclined, very beautiful and somewhat independent.

Chuck as a CEO is just too much. Chuck as the guy who throws parties with only handpicked guests is more believable. Chuck who tries to figure out an exclusive club with top notch businessmen as members...bleh. Chuck as the guy smokes hash in front of his teacher - believeable. Chuck hopelessly in love with Blair but not willing to make a commitment - interesting but now VERY BORING but Chuck who screws with many girls but would die for only Blair or Chuck wanting to kill Nate because he has HIS girl that he won't commit to - Believable.

Nate and Chuck are best friends. Why don't we see them confide in each other?? Why is Nate, a key character not given great storylines. Didn't Nate love Serena? What happened? Derena isn't working. Can they all go to that previous relationships and have A-HA moments? Blair can hook up with Nate (as they're doing now which I don't mind), be together for a while , even have a working relationship but have something missing - the passion she has for Chuck? Or Serena and Nate can (actually) try to see if something can work for them.

Britney Spears went crazy, went to rehab, came out and is still Britney Spears. Angelina Jolie met Brad Pitt changed a little but still has that devilish swag. She still sexy, takes daring movie star roles etc. My point? A person can go to rehab and not come out as "the virgin mary." Serena can be a good girl but still have something about her. She's kinda boring now.

My two cents. Wish the show luck. I hope it gets good again. It isn't what it used to be and I also think the hiatus was bad for the show and the numerous spoilers don't help either. I actually stopped reading the spoilers on this page because I don't want them to ruin the show for me. :) Love this site though.

  14. headbands&scarves Says:

    COMMENT AWAY? OK!
alright, so like i've said before, i love chair and i ultimately want them to be together. that being said, i love what theyre doing with nair right now. i like how nate is more involved with the characters instead of just randomly popping in with v every once in a while.
i want more group scenes. i love it when they are all together.
please give nate and serena a chance! i would love to see the outcome and i think it would be great.
    better plot for jenny, please!
    and
    CHAIR
    CHAIR
    CHAIR!!!!!
    LOL

  15. ugh Says:

my biggest point: GIVE SERENA BETTER PLOTLINES, SHE IS GETTING GYPED

  16. tropicalbreeze8 Says:

sorry I meant, **I do not think people should threaten to stop watching the show**

  17. tropicalbreeze8 Says:

    These are my opinions.
Gossip Girl was better in Season 1, so far. Season 1 was so edgy, and fun. Season 2 is too serious. I mean, in Season 1, like the episode School Lies, that's like the best episode-it was fun, and funny! I don't think people should not threaten to stop watching the show, because their favorite couple isn't together, like Chair, or Derena or something, especially Chair. For example, when they brought Aaron Rose with Serena, people were complaining about it! Same with Ms. Carr. Its a show and you have to give it a chance and don't complain! I love all the Characters, but they have to make them like more...interesting or something. Like Chuck was so cool in season 1! His hair(!) and his attitude was awesome! Now this season he's too serious, but he's still Chuck. :)I like Nate, and Dan they have good story lines. I love Vanessa, she is my favorite Character! She's very down to earth, and definitely needs more screen time! I like Jenny, she needs more story lines and stuff! And people should stop hating on Vanessa!! She's an awesome character! She's down to earth! Well, I love Gossip Girl! It's my favorite show and I'll always watch it no matter what!

  18. Mouse Says:

You know what I would REALLY suggest for them that has absolutely nothing to do with relationships. More than anything, they need to slow the hell down with the bad plots. I thought I had read the writers were going to learn from The O.C. and how they ran through plot lines so quickly.
I honestly think the first season of GG was perfect because it really had a SINGLE solid plot that every single one of the characters was a part of somehow. It didn't feel rushed or scattered and GG had less episodes then than they do now. In the second season there's a million subplots that are being burned through in a single episode.
The plots they have now for each character might not seem as bad if they were developed over a few episodes. Not just thrown in for one episode, then tossed out the next. It's very annoying.

  20. adam Says:

i just saw a set photo of serena and nate! OMG! if ever that going to happen. nate is actually a man-whore! and seriously, writers... stop with the relationship already! let them be friends. atleast someone in UES stays friends! I stop watching if ever nate will be with serena or whoever! she had enuf with girls already

  21. B Says:

    1. Have them more in a school enviroment like 90210. The characters do not interact enough with each other. I think Josh Schwartz said they wanted NYC to be the backdrop of GG. opposed to school. I think it is okay for some episodes but not all.

    2. More emphasis on the characters back story. I think the reason why some viewers hate Vanessa is because the writers did not provide her with any back story. Viewers feel no connection to her because she simply exists as Nate's girlfriend and Dan's buddy. I like Vanessa and contrary to people's comments I do not think she is useless, selfish or annoying. She is the nice one who keeps getting hurt for trying to help the others sort out their problems.

    3. Chuck and Blair. Their storylines of late have been either boring or unbelievable. I like the softer side of Chuck when he is concerned about Blair but he needs to get more into his scheming ways, that is where he is fun. Did not like the Eyes Wide Shut storyline - maybe it is a tie in for a future episode? who knows? Blair showing her vulnerable side is nice because it shows she is breakable but she is really at her best when she is sparing with her love, Chuck. I think this is what the current storyline is leading up to a reunion between the two and that is the right way to go. Having them adjust to a normal relationship would be great to see.

    4. Nate - Poor sweet Nate. I think they should give him more to do than date everyone on the show and family drama. He needs to loosen up more and have fun. He was on the verge of that when he almost fell into Jenny's rebellion storyline but that was cut short. However, I did not like him with Jenny. No storyline potential other than drama with Dan. Out of everyone he has been with, I like him with Vanessa. Others here have commented on their lack of chemistry or that they are boring for their reason for not liking them but they were the only couple for awhile who were just happy. I did not mind seeing a happy couple amongst the angst. I think they are cute together. Hopefully they get back together after this Nate and Blair "memory lane" hookup. Note to the writers if they really do read this website for ideas - The writers could write a storyline about Nate being introduced to Vanessa's family and they have a prejudice against rich people. For the first time, he has to work to get accepted by others and not rely on his family name or looks. They could have the character utilize his wealth or connections to help the less fortunate which would be appropriate during these times.

    5. Dan - I like his and Nate's friendship. Writers should expand on it more. They could tie this into the above mentioned potential Nate storylines. He can be a bit judgmental but overall he is a good guy. Should have him in clubs and dancing more. The scene at the Snowflake Ball with him dancing - priceless. Even having more bickering between him and Blair would be fun. They are hilarious together.

    6. Jenny - I think she is at her best when she is in conflict with the mean girls at school. She actually shows some decency. I hated it when she helped exposed Vanessa's see thru dress at the Snowflake Ball. Regardless of what happened, you do not do that to a friend. She is only 15 (almost 16) and that act really showed her immaturity. Being a teenager is tough but there is no excuse embarrassing one of your only friends. She is also a social climber which is not appealing - does anyone remember her looking for boyfriends at the other private schools and when the faux dog walker shows interest in her she rejects him because she thinks he is poor? Others cite Vanessa being a social climber and quite honestly not sure where you are getting that vibe.

    7. Serena - it is always mentioned she has a wild side past. I think the writers should incorporate that more into her storylines. Or have better storylines that do not involve her having a boyfriend or getting back with Dan. The introduction of the half brother would be interesting to see how she and Dan would cope with it. Adds a new dimension to their relationship - romantic or not.

    8. Better Storylines - Bottom line I think this is the only way GG can be saved. I am completely addicted as it is my guilty pleasure but some of the storylines this year have been horrible. Here's hoping the rest of the season is better.

  22. McDreamy's Says:

I hope all of them don't end up going to NYU. i mean its a good college, but last i checked, columbia is better, and is conveniently located in NYC's upper west side

  23. V-lovers Says:

Yay V has gotten more SL
I love her to death. Writers just keep her involved, please!!!
    and more Drama between NV.

  24. Nelly Yuki Says:

Oh Gossip Girl, I have been oh so dissapointed in you for quite a while..
As far as I'm concerned, plotlines first started to fall flat in season two with the whole Jenny Humphrey emphasis.. one can only be interested in her for so long. Nate disaspearing for forever and then coming back in a love triangle between a 15 year old or Vanessa wasn't so "exciting", although I have come to like them as a couple. But lately it seems the show has done nothting but center around Blair and her Yale acceptance letter (rightfully so Leighton Meester is a great actress), even though the Dan scandal was a nice breath of fresh Gossip Girl- esque air. Clearly, the viewers are tired of the cat and mouse game, stop fooling everyone and put Blair and Chuck together already. It's old.Carter Baizen is very clever indeed, but he should have been featured romancing Blair way earilier. But hear me out here, and I hope somebody out there concures with me, that Serena's plot lines HAVE SUCKED COMPLETELY. Anyone who has read at least some of the books should know that the Aaron Rose character was written totally wrong and all the Darena lovers from season one could see that the chemistry between Aaron and S was nonexsistent compared to her's with Dan. Writing him off the show was a wise one.. but Serena getting a crazy crush for a gay thespian? stupid. She's beautiful.. where are all the hot guys that she rightfully deserves? like the one that she used for revenge on Dan in the bar? lets hope the next guy is better.. And speaking of hot guys, Chuck's plotlines haven't been so great either. I don't think anybody was into the "gentlemans club" or 30 year old, random prostitute-ish "Elle". Oh and lastly, the Lily and Rufus match is kind of a let down also. Its just, creepy, and boring.. its not that I dislike it because it means Dan and Serena are officially over.. its just that it creeps me out a little.. Lily waiting maybe one or 2 weeks after Bart's death to confess her love for Rufus wasn't "scandulous", we all saw it coming.. the relationship is just... not moving anywhere. For example, Kirsten and Sandy Cohen had a nice, dynamic, interesting relationship, it was fun to watch. Lily and Rufus just gives me the blahs. Here's to looking foward to Georgina Sparks' return!

  25. xoxo_96 Says:

ok i know this is random
and i'm not trying to insult ed westwick because i love him and chuck bass but god
he should seriously lose some weight and get some muscles
hes hot and everything but he looks really bad shirtless
also he needs to like shave his hairy chest
    its all i ask
