Serena needs more storylines, Chuck and Blair either need to get together or make their game more interesting, And serena needs to be single for a while, and if Derena happens, make it non-boring!!
It seems that many of us agree that the characters are acting as adults. Even Blair Waldorf in season 1 (although she might have been more serious than any average teenager) had her share of fun partying and recklessness.
The whole break thing is driving me insane, and I noticed that after next week's Remains of the J episode we'll have to wait until April 20 for the next one!! arrghh what's the deal with all these breaks could anyone please explain this to me?
As for the couples, I'm a Chair fan but I'd like to see Chuck fight for Blair just as she did for him, only I'm totally against that whole Chuck-Vanessa revenge argh.. I just simply don't like V! Also, Lily and Rufus...zZZ... and the whole Derena situation, the bitch slap was awesome lol but then she was nice to him again..and I can still feel that vibe between them..argh Nooo more Derenaa!! And WHERE was Nate's mom ? I know the whole family situation but she is NEVER around, at least I think Nate should have mentioned to he

I just need the characters to be COOL again. Where's the manipulating Blair? She's gone soft, panicked and pathetic.
Seducing Chuck is also gone. Now he's an emotional bag, even falling for the dim-witted Elle.
As for Nate, the good guy is now the every girl's guy. Seems like he doesn't recognize whom is whom any more, all girls are equally tasty to him. Serena is boring without scandalous past. And Dan, his character is crazy in season 2: womanizer in the summer, back to Serena, and then Rachel? WTH! He doesn't even have friends in high school!
Just bring back the playful Bass, don't make him wear the sorrowful serious face. Let him have bang, not the gel hair, let his PI back, and his plotting start again. Same for Blair.

I'm happy with the direction the show is taking. Darena had too much baggage and Nair is working for me right now. A few broad things that might make the show even better.
All the characters interacting. The party in the last episode was a good start. I just feel like some characters barely talk to each other. I want more focus on friendships as well as romances.
Let Chuck be fun again! I liked the character development with his dad dying, but Chuck has lost that edge I love.
The long episode breaks need to stop, it really kills momentum and just confuses casual fans who get turned off by tuning into reruns. This might work in some shows, but not for Gossip Girl. I get the long summer break and the Christmas one, but the others are frustrating. Start the seasons later and end them earlier if need be.
The side characters go missing far too often. Eric, Elanore, Cyrus, and others are part of these peoples' lives and they are never there. I get that they are not contratually

I agree with everyone as far as the breaks, next season they better not go for long as 2 weeks (Id rather that they didnt have any breaks though). Also I am a CHAIR fan to the max! But I want to see where things are gonna go with NAIR...Plus Id LOVE to see Chuck fighting for Blair and what his next move is gonna be? Cant wait to see what the writers come up with. Im a diehard fan of GG so Ill continue to watch it, but crossing my fingers for an AWSOME finally with Chuck & Blair!

I think that they lost focus. Everyone wants Chuck and Blair together. They are dragging this out. Passions did this, too. They fail miserably. I think that the promos are better than the episodes themselves.

Serena killed SOMEONE! She can explore her wild side a little bit, but not too much. Maybe a few episodes of the past coming back to haunt her, and her losing it and getting into some trouble, but her partying too much would be too unrealistic. Again, she killed someone, and that will always stick with her.

btw anyone want a new years episode and maybe an actual dance episode? They're in highschool but I never saw like a spring formal or any dances with St. Judes & Constance. PROM!!!
And New Years would be interesting because then we all get to see who finds who at midnight sorta like the OC did it.

More Nate/Blair or Nate/Serena scenes. Nate belongs to the rich and famous upper crast, not to Vanessa or Jenny. Don't bring back neither N/V nor N/J, it would kill the show!!
By the way, I like Chair but they mustn't be endgame, just a part of the show. And I can't imagine Chuck and Blair as a happy and harmonius couple without any trouble and complication.They would be boring, and in this season I think they were boring...

Because seriously thats how they STARTED gossip girl and never followed through with it and I think Serena will be much cooler then. Shes supposed to be this kickass girl that everyone loves and wants to be and well shes just very boring on the show and never dates anyone but DAN HUMPHREY?! Gross. She could do better and the writers need to show that instead of her mystery men that are never on the show long or dan. Nate time baby!

completely agree with lelizm.
on the music front, last season it waas interesting because each character had their different music taste incorporated into their scene i.e. Blair - The Bravery // Serena - The Pierces. now it's the same old indie drab, kindof like the OC.don't get me wrong, i love alexandra patsavas but the music this season was underpar.
another thing. . .jenny/blair fight. . .for such a major thing last season you've really seem to forgot about it.

I think it's a bit useless to keep asking for Chair, because... Well. We know it's gonna happen sometime soon. :P
I just wish the writers would work more on the chemistry between Dan and Serena through some cute, funny moments. Like Serena slapping Dan and that part in the Remains of the J promo where he throws some dirty bedsheets at her. I think they could work out as friends for a while and slowly drift back to each other again. Darena can't be over completely, right? :( Especially after that scene to "It's Hard to Live in the City" in the Pilot. THAT WAS CUTE. I thought Dan and Serena was doomed with the whole Rachel incident, but seeing as how Serena didn't take it as bad as I thought she would, I could see those two happening again. :)
But yeah. Chair. And some quirky, innocent, and cute little moments between Serena and Dan is all I ask for.
A few more comments:
1. HATE the music this season. It's completely terrible. The music during Season 1 was more fun and current and added depth to the stories. They were mostly popular songs from the time, not obscure stuff hardly anyone knows. PLEASE bring back the quality music.
2. Chuck's hair is awful. I hate the comb-over. He was much more attractive last season. Get Ed to cut his hair!
3. More storylines involving all the characters and not random storylines affecting only 1 or 2. The only episodes I've been crazy about this season were "Summer Kind of Wonderful", "Realm of the Basses" and "The Grandfather". Common denominator in all three of those is that all the characters were interacting with one another and there were not a lot of guest stars trying to carrying major storylines.
4. And yes, the show must be young and fresh. We don't want to know what is coming. We can be given some spoilers as hints, but don't give out blatant spoilers or recaps. I don't care how much
Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
