I understand that many of us are disappointed that they 'hid' the battle but to say this episode sucks just because of that is just too much, imo. I really enjoyed this episode, non-battle notwithstanding. I don't know whether to cry over Nathan's death or laugh at the absurdity of the twist, and I say that as a compliment. Now I get what Bryan Fuller had been hinting about the character death in the finale. I definitely cannot wait for volume 5!

Are you serious? You didn't see that coming? I liked it better when it happened in Terminator 2.
The "biggest fight" in Heroes history in a season finale no less is not even shown?

it was a good episode, not THE BEST but it was good, i've loved heroes since the first time it was advertised! and though i still wonder how it got from being a hot topic to something thats in the 'dont bother' section, i still like it so i'll definatly be watching next volume, although it will probably be the last

This was one of the best episodes since season 1. Many have made complaints that the show never kills major characters anymore. Now they have. Sylar couldn't have been killed by any known conventional means. So they had to do what they did. If you look at the series in terms of connected episodes you would see that Angela doesn't always (rarely) takes the high road. What she did to Sylar proves that. Using Claire's blood? Easily explained by saying that he was fully dead by the time they got there. If you say it revived HRG, then in his case I don't think he was fully dead before his revival.
I hope Peter has more than shapeshifting. But his cuts didn't heal so I don't think he has all Sylar's abilities.

I thought this finale was sweet-except for not seeing the fight, that was lame, but I'm sure it had to do with production costs and not giving away what was about to happen at the end

IS IT JUST ME OR DOES ANY ONE REALLY SEE THE FUTURE OF WHAT HIRO FROM 5 YEARS IN THE FUTURE WAS TRYING TO STOP WITH ONE OR 2 THINGS DIFFERENT
1. SYLAR IS NATHAN AS PRESIDENT
2. WHEN SYLAR KILLED NATHAN HE HAD ALREADY TURNED ON HIS OWN KIND.
3. MATT HAS A SON THAT IS HIS NAMED MATTHEW
4. THEY ARE HUNTED DOWN AS TERRORISTS.
5. MATT AND BENNET AS OF THE END OF TONIGHTS EPISODE SEEM TO BE NOT UNDER BEST OF TERMS.
6. Theory Clair is going to be in vegas at sometime living then back in texas.
7. Mohinder will chit chat with nathan as an advisor and
EVERY THING THAT WAS WILL STILL BE EXCEPT FOR THE PETER BIG BOOM THEROY.

I must admit I am quite disappointed too. First of all, hiding the Petrellis vs Sylar fight was an insult to the audience who's been waiting for this moment forever. It also turns out Peter didn't take all of Sylar's power, but only shapeshifting. How gay can that be ?
Nathan could've been revived by Claire's blood, but instead they used some distorted plot twist to brainwash Sylar, fully knowing it would get healed sooner or later (Peter should especially be aware of this).
This show is becoming way too predictable. I'm defenitely going to watch next season but I'm afraid this finale is certainly not what will bring old school fans back.

Angela didn't want her son to die that way and I'm pretty sure if any parent could bring back their son or daughter someway somehow they would do the same. it was definitely a weird shocking twist.

Though I am still a fanatical cult worshipper of the first season, who displayed blind loyalty to these last 3 volumes in the face of all of their flaws out of respect for the originals and stayed optimistic for literally years that we'd eventually get some more of the old magic back... I just went from disappointed to mad. I had eagerly anticipated watching volume 5, regardless of how the season finale turned out. But this was just too much! I had liked the episode pretty good 3/4 of the way through, but the "Nylar" idea to me is hands down the grossest plotline ever forced on us. No reason in the world (and certainly not the one we were given, which required ignoring more plausible scenarios like allowing Peter, who now has Sylar's shape shifting ability, to walk around as Nathan when called on) to lead a room of people who are not insane to conculde that inserting false memories into a sadistic super-powered serial killer to impersonate their brother/friend/son. He's still got the s

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing. I might have to look back to when HRG was shot. He might not have actually been dead, because I remeber he was in a hospital bed. Claire might be able to die and come back to life, but I don't know if the same can apply for other people like Nathan.

I don;t know why every one of you keep on saying that "Oh I'm done, I'm done watching this show" stop your bitching and if you don't want to watch i then stop.
With that said it was a decent show but not good enough for a season finale. I bet dimes on dollars that Peter will have another "fall-out" with everyone because of the whole "Naylar" situation.
Oh and can someone tell me why not just shoot up Nathan full of Claire's blood like HGR was in season 2 and just bring him back to life?
Anyway, Good Finaly. Its good to see tracy again! :)

@ikram4 it is exactly because Nathan dying is too obvious that I'm pointing the gun somewhere else. They said the death would be a shocker. Milo Ventimilaga said "Peter MAY make it through".
Why would they build a suspense up only to make what everyone and their dog predicted happen ? A predictable and uninteresting finale is not what will get their fanbase back in season 5. While Peter would certainly be a disaster for ratings, maybe it is not clear enough in their crazy writer minds!
