While it won't involve any of the cast members we love, the Gossip Girl spinoff has the potential to introduce new stars and reveal plenty about Lily's past.

New cast member Matt Barr (below) will appear May 11 in the Lily-centric Gossip Girl spinoff episode as young Keith van der Woodsen, who "may" wind up becoming Serena’s father - although the odds of that are looking pretty good.

“Wait and see,” Gossip Girl executive producer Stephanie Savage tells TV Guide.

Stephanie did reveal that we’ll finally meet Serena and Eric’s father in Season Three, and Matt says the show will be introducing an all grown-up version of Keith.

So do the math. A casting call will be going out for an actor who resembles a more mature Matt - something along the lines of a Matthew Modine, maybe?
