while i think it would be cute, its been done before (ala a walk to remember). she's "dying" so he wants to give her a wedding. i have liked alex/izzie from season one, they always had great chemistry. however, it just seems so predictable. i think shonda needs to stop messing w/ merder and just let them get married. if really had enough of the makeup/breakup of those two

I have been an Alex/Izzie fan since Day 1. Sure, she fell in love with Denny. But all along there has been an undertone leading to AI. Even when she was with George. As for the MerDer wedding, as amazing as that would be, I don't think it's going to happen this season. I think there's going to be different drama entirely in the season finale- Ellen Pompeo is pregnant. And she's so small that there's no way they could possibly cover that up on the show. My prediction: Season Finale=MerDer pregnancy.

I"m sorry but my computer or keyboard is on the fritz I actually have the caps lock down right now to do lower case (???) so if i end up shouting (all caps) i don"t mean to my computer is nuts!
Any way, my point about the quote from Kristen is this-- they normally say the info they get directly is like the word of god or something... like it's fact. So, her choice of description there-- calling it a rumor tells me that she doesn't necessarily think it's true.
OK, I think my computer has returned to norm.

I don't think that Izzie is going to die. The season premiere was all about fairy tale vs. reality. When Izzie "dreams" of seeing Denny and walking into the light, the voiceover says something about reality being messy but much more interesting than a fairy tale or fantasy (paraphrasing) and then she looks over and there is her messy reality: Alex. So I think that Izzie is finally going to put her fantasy of Denny away and accept her reality with Alex, who is difficult and messy, but who she shares a real history with, unlike Denny who she barely knew and who she was able to project all of her fantasies on because she never got the chance to see any of his flaws and vice-versa.
So I think that Trey might be right. The wedding won't be her dream wedding, because she is sick and it will be in the hospital, but it won't matter because, again, she will have put away her fantasy and fully commit to a future with Alex, her messy but interesting reality. Alex has shown a lot of grow

if they want to kill her at the end of this season , i dont want izzie and Alex to get married, they are my favorite couple and it will break my heart
I love Alex and how he deals with her , he's my favorite character, and Izzie suits him best
so much with this couple , so many things to feel and to think about
and to lose one of the main characters in GA is like losing it all
I hope shonda is aware of what she's doing , these rumors are getting on my nerves
GA is with meredith , derek ,christina , bailey , chief, o'malley, sloan, callie , izzie, and ALEX
without one of them , the show will lose it tastes !

I've watched the SP several times but did not catch that Denny says "better than the bride" in the scene at the end, probably because I fast forward through scenes with Izzie. Interesting.

I've always loved Izzie and Alex, and I really hope Izzie doesn't die...but when I rewatched the first episode of this season, and saw her and Denny by the elevator and he says to her that she looks better than the bride and they walk away into the light...I realized that they really are killing her off! That's when I'm not going to watch GA anymore!

I just dont get this whole Izzie/Alex marriage thing. And why it seems to be such a good idea. Izzie was sleeping with her dead fiance. Be it all in her head - she was actually IN LOVE with dead Denny for half the season! How do you now turn around and love Alex?
Alex on the other hand is one of the characters with the hottest head and fowlest tempers. Sure, he is deep and dark and we all want to know his secrets. But marriage?? To Izzie so soon after she was sleeping with her (dead) ex?
Ah uh.. i dont buy this at all! imho its a bad idea!

The way I see it is: Izzie will help Mer and Der plan the wedding, but she (Izzie) will get worse and so Mer will let her have the wedding she planned. So Izzie and Alex will get married, Izzie will get better and better and Meredith and Derek will have their wedding in the finale... wouldn't that be great? I think it'd be even better!!!

they shouldn't freaking get married! atleast build a solid loving healthy relationship in season six for alex and izzie instead of just going straight for wedding bells. these two HARDLY interacted this season, she was with DENNY the whole season, and never around alex, so why would they just all of a sudden realize they're completely in love and get married? this is so retarded.

Guys, this info on the wedding is not a definite-- here's Kristen w/ eonline exact words were:
"BTW, the biggest rumor in rumorville right now is that it's not Mer and Der who get married, but Alex and deathbed Izzie. Cross your fingers, Alex-Iz fans!"

I still find it hard to believe you guys could be so in to this season. They are all over the place this season. The only reason I even kept watching was to see where the heck they were going with that whole Denny thing, which you have to admit was a bit odd. I don't know. I just don't have high hopes this season. What happened to the constant drama? The surgeries are even lame! Last season you had the guy with the bomb lodged in his abdomen! That was good stuff! They are slacking this season for sure and once again whats up with the re-runs????

you know, in the past or even at the beginning of this season I would have thought it would be totally unrealistic that Alex or Izzie could handle marriage, but they've both changed SO MUCH this season, especially Izzie. I mean, go back and watch any episode from season three or even four--Izzie is so much more mature this season. And I think that Alex and Izzie have always kind of been (literally) made for each other on this show, as in the characters were written to compliment one another. Even through out their other romances, there was always an undertone of the other one and how they felt. However, its taken them five years to build a solid relationship and I think the entire underlying theme here is going to be wasted time. They wasted a lot of time not being together.
Because of this, I do NOT think an AI wedding would be about "Izzie's dream wedding!!", I think it would be about the characters realizing life is too short to push each other away anymore. I think it would

if AI get married it would be cheesy, sloppy and rushed. MerDer should be the couple to marry, and I think they're truly in love and deserve it. They're both ready to commit to each other, and it's believable.
And everyone knows that the MerDer fans deserve it, too. They were put through hell with their couple. Give 'em the wedding!
