If it's MerDer wedding day, the only way for them to "give" the celebration to other couple would be if they are close friends and it's something really important, like one of them being dying... so Izzie and Alex.

Has anyone else noticed the parallels between Izzie/Alex and Denny/Alex? If Alex and Izzie get engaged, it would be very similar to when Denny was in bedrest... though maybe this time there would be a happy ending?
I'm starting to really believe it's going to be Alex & Izzie.
Any thoughts?

It may take place on their wedding day, a future date, but they aren't getting married this week. Flash Forward episode maybe? So that means they'd get married in the future, but not today. However, if part of the episode takes place as that flash forward...it still takes place on May 7th.
Also, I believe Jeffery Dean Morgan is slated to appear in one more episode this season. The curve that makes the most sense is that Izzie goes back to hullicination world or something & gets her marriage to Denny (or she dies and they get married in Heaven, but I think that's too cheezy for Shondra Rimes).
They've already done the Vegas wedding, so the likely hood of that is slim.

It won't be mer/der. I agree with Kristen...I think there will be a wedding in a dream sequence but not a marriage. I think Kristen posted that idea on another post and she said something bout shonda coming full circle....the season started with a dream and will end with a dream. makes sense to e

Derek has his moods and Meredith has her depressions. They sould marry in the very last minutes in episode.
Some viewers hint that she will just run away.

Im still sticking by my dream sequence theory. I think that either Izzie(maybe in a coma-like state...after all the title of the episode is titled "LUCID DREAMS" meaning "someone" is dreaming, but is able to control the dream")..anyways Izzie will be dreaming and in her dream there will be a mer/der wedding, alex and izzie...(i doubt denny since he is not slated to be back)....i read that there will be multiple weddings...and this could make mer/der have a wedding, there will be a wedding, in the dream, but it will not result in mer/der actually being married. It is way too soon to get married...meredith would NEVER rush into a marriage that quick. my vote is for dream, more then 1 wedding, but no marriage.

I think i'm sticking by the whole dream scenario. It will probably be Izzie/Alex who actually get married, but her dreaming about Mer/Der would allow Shonda to say that "Meredith and Derek are tying the knot"....but not...
I think it's too early for Lexie and Mark. They're great together, but it would just be a little too fast. Maybe a proposal, but two in one season just a few episodes apart? And we haven't heard about it? No, I don't think so. I like the whole dream thing, and it goes in line with Shonda's "I like to bring things full circle."

don't get me wrong everyone, i'm ALL for MerDer.
But I would just like the wedding to be Alex and Izzie's; not only will it bring stellar emotion to the show, it would be a twist worth being twisted (unlike Slexie) which should DEFINITELY not get hitched until the show's 100th season.
But, MerDer would be just as great, either way, i'm loving GA.=D

Shonda is always messing with the fans, not cool! Nobody likes to be teased! Although, as much as I'm hoping it's a McDreamy wedding I think an Alex & Izzie wedding could bring an incredibly emotional episode. I mean they need really good ratings...why not throw in something like that. But if they did, i'd be convinced that Katherine Heigl's character would be done!

It was already stated by Shonda that Mer and Derrick do get married however I think they will be scheduled to get married on the 7th and Izzie will die unfortunately.

I agree with you ana.
AND i think that if two people do get married on May 7th, it should be a couple that has been with the show since day 1, which would exclude Mark and Lexie. There's no more perfect couple to get married that day than Derek and Meredith or Alex and Izzie....at least in my opinion.

I don't care anymore I would've prefer that Shonda would've kept her mouth shut. I'm pissed off because if it is MerDer wedding day then someone is going to steal their wedding day. Is not fair to the fans, for this people to play with us like that.
Also if it is MerDer wedding and they don't get married it means that something bad happens between them and they don't get married. I'm pissed, because this Shonda once again play with this couple.
