Ratings Report: Solid Return for Fringe

by at . Comments

Fox was the big ratings winner last night.

Fringe, returning with its first new episode in months, proved to be a solid companion for American Idol.

From 9 to 10 p.m., which saw the final nine minutes of Idol bleed into Fringe, Fox scored 11.9 million viewers. It defeated Dancing With the Stars and The Mentalist in the 18-49 year-old demographic.

Among other primetime pickings:

  • NCIS (17.6 million) was the top scripted series. The Mentalist (16.8 million) wasn't very far behind.
  • Law & Order: SVU (9.1 million), Reaper (2.3 million) and 90210 (2.1 million) were basically even with last week.
  • Cupid (6.2 million) lost about two million viewers from its first half hour to its second.
