I think George is the most mature out of the gang. He is the only one who take responsibility for his mistakes and his actions, and tries to grow from it. He is the only one who doesn't try to step all over other people to advance. He doesn't think himself a rock star or does surgery to show he is the best. He really cares about each and every one of his patients, and he works harder than anyone. He sticks up for what he believes in.

I think he has grown leaps and bounds. He showed it with Sadie and with the little boy who needed his help.

I would definitely pick him to be my doctor over the other 4.

I think George has grown the most out of every character on this show.

Now they should put him back with Izzie because she kind of sucks without him and she and Alex are the biggest snorefest in the world.

And who cares about TR being gay? It just makes me admire him more for bringing such hot hot chemistry to Gizzie, the hottest couple on TV.

I agree that there is definitely still potential for George as a character and no one else brings the dynamic that he does. He is an essential part of the Fab 5 (which is my main reason for watching as I am not a huge Mer/Der fan). This season all of the other members of the Fab 5 have shown SO much growth (Meredith and Alex learning how to be in a mature relationship with commitment and real communication, Cristina allowing herself to be vulnerable and Izzie slowly putting her unrealistic fantasies of love away to appreciate what she has.) Now its George's turn. He is the only one of the Fab 5 to grow up in relatively stable and loving home (Cristina too, but she watched her dad die at a young age) and I think that George has always sort of been babied a little bit (by his mother, by his friends, etc.) Now is the time for him to come into his own as a man, continue to take responsibility for his career and personal life and move forward. There is plenty of story left there and I

I respect TR's decision no matter what, but I won't be watching without him.

Grey has long lost its place in my heart and I have been watching out of habit and love for George.

Without him, I am not invested in this show at all.

I would be dissapointed to see George go, just as much as any of the original characters. If Izzie dies and George leaves it will be a very sad year. Will I stop watching? Absolutely not. I'm wayyyy too addicited to the show to stop watching.

Best line ever from George "Correction, George got some syphillis." I still get tears in my eyes when he says that, it makes me laugh so hard.

But one of my favourite episodes with him in it, was the thanksgiving turkey hunt. A little weird I know, but I loved that episode.

He is a great character, and personally I think he has some excellent potential to thrive on this show. But if it is his choice to go, I say all the best T.R. thanks for bringing such a wonderful character to us!

Can't believe someone on here suggests Grey's Anatomy is homophobic. It has to be the gayest show on TV. It is called Gay's Anatomy by Many. IT is actually to gay. The majority of the viewers care nothing about seeing this crap on their television. Don't get mad at me. Just speaking the truth.

  7. Andreanne

I voted no way. George can't leave.

Grey would be horrible without him.

I think there was a big hole this season when he was not shown.

I was so glad to see more of him lately. He makes the show better.

Count me in as a George fan through and through.

Forgive my bad English. I am French.

Oh did you guys read about Nicolette Sheridan's blasting the DH creator and saying he always had it in for her characetr after he killed her off.

Do you think TR would do the same? I don't see it somehow even if it's true. TR has never liked the attention, but I wish he would defend himself. He is always letting people like IW and Shonda treat him badly and never says a thing to defend himself.

I wish he was more like Katie on that, but then maybe he wouldn't be the TR I love so much.

I was shocked when he came out. I wasn't shocked about NPH on How I met your mother and I usually can tell, but with George, I couldn't.

Probably because he and Izzie have so much chemistry to me, and I always secretely wanted him and Katie to hook up in real life.

That would have been so great. Unfortunately, that's impossible.

Him coming out didn't affect my love for him one bit. I just fel more protective of him somehow.

I don,t get why Shonda doesn't let the door open for him if h

I like George character. If the writer continues to give him one line per episode I think the number of viewers will be lessened. Even he came out I still love his character. he is a good actor.

  10. !greys

yeah after i posted that i searched melissa georges article and you are right, sorry fracois, and great posts! i now think shonda is an evil bitch. hahah, i still, and never did want george to leave.

  11. Laura

Oh I know, like BuddyTV, yikes. There were some fights here, but they seemed to have gotten better.

I adore George too and Gizzie.

This season has been just one heartbreak after another. I really hate it so bad.

Worst of all, the absence of George has made me realize he was the only thing I still cared about in this show.

I have decided that I won't watch when he leaves. The show has lost its magic, and only George still does it for me.

  12. Lulu

I LOVE George. What a cutie pie! He always makes me smile. I think Shonda should beg TR to stay and give him a big juicy story so he doesn't leave.

I also think he and Izzie need to be best friends again. I miss their friendship so much.

I watch every week hoping they will be friends again, but nothing. We had a few good scenes two or three episodes ago. I got all hopeful and bam, nothing.

Now I don't know if I should just stop hoping for their friendship back because I get disappointed so much.

I wish I could get through to Shonda somehow. I don,t know if she is hearing us at all. Don't the other George fans get discouraged at times that she doesn't or is that just me?

I am so glad there is no fighting here. On other sites, they fight so much, I don't even dare post.

  13. V

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE George.

I agree, his appearances are triply precious now.

I treasure each and every second with him.

I don't get why she is doing this to our George.

Didn't she call him the heart of the show in season 2? How can she have forgotten that?

  14. Hilda

OK, yeah I make bad jokes at times. That's perfectly ok.

Yes to me, George will always be my favorite character, no matter if he leaves or not.

If someone doesn't agree, that is fine too.

We can't like all the same characters or the same things.

    That's just how I feel.

PS: I LOVE ER. I watched from day 1 till the very end. I already miss it.

    Holly says:
"He lacks emotion? When he ran to be with izzie and then plastered that big smile on his face through his tears for her? When he teared up last episode at the thought of losing his best friend?
TR has the most expressive eyes ever.
No I don't have to be glad he had one season where he was important. He is my favorite character and IMHO, the most interesting and wonderful character on the show."

Perfectly said, Holly, I agree 100%!!

    and Hilda says:
"I know that I always liked George but now I LOVE him and I value every single one of his appearances like a gift.

TR is so talented that he can take two minutes of screen time and make it memorable.
Like that one moment where he smiled at Izzie. This was 30 seconds of screentime but it was the one scene the entire episode that had me bursting into tears. It's that one moment that stayed with me.
Now that is great acting. I don't get why Shonda is wasting his talent like that, and not using a character that is so lo

  17. ERisbetter

I meant nothing by my "women" comment. Bad joke in poor taste, and that's that. I meant no offense. I understand what you're saying about how important his little screen time is. Usually, that's all it takes, one great moment that defines and entire hour. Maybe we'll see more of him, maybe we wont, but no matter what happens, we can all agree that he is still a major role in the series.

  18. Hilda

It's ok to express your opinions, but what is the deal with your women comment?

It felt like you were making a derogatory comment on women, but please tell me if I misunderstood.

The women comment is the thing that upsets me here, not the rest of the post.

If George is non-existent, blame Shonda. That was probably her master plan. Have George disappear so she can force him out the door and nobody would care because he has been a ghost all season.

Except it didn't really work, did it? It seems the fans just loved George more and realized even more how much he brings to the show.

I know that I always liked George but now I LOVE him and I value every single one of his appearances like a gift.

  19. ERisbetter

Whoa, easy there Holly. Sorry for thinking it was ok to express my thoughts on here, didn't know i was gonna get attacked. I'm a guy, and back when I got hooked on this show, it was because of George. But it's becoming harder and harder to stay enthused about a character that is almost non-existent.

  20. Holly

He lacks emotion? When he ran to be with izzie and then plastered that big smile on his face through his tears for her? When he teared up last episode at the thought of losing his best friend?

TR has the most expressive eyes ever.

No I don't have to be glad he had one season where he was important. He is my favorite character and IMHO, the most interesting and wonderful character on the show.

And George has plenty of male fans too. My husband and brothers included. Even my dad likes him. He says he is the only guy on this show that feels real and not some stereotype.

I know a lot of them, so give me a break with your women.

If he is lacking screen time and stories, Shonda needs to give him one. There is so much she could do with him and so much she hasn't done.

This fan isn't watching without him. Grey is way too boring without our George.

  21. ERisbetter

George should stay, if only for the rest of the season of course. but then next season he should be gone, "to pursue better things" his character is lacking emotion, screen time and not to mention story lines. lets just be glad he was significant for a while back in the day. stop hanging on to the past. women...

  22. Suz

Yes, George leaving would be bad enough, but killing him?

I can't even wrap my mind around that.

    George dead is just wrong.

  23. Marina

I never buy rumors either. I don't believe any of them.

TR is a perfectionist according to many sources. That's the guy who worked with a broken arm in one of his movies because he didn't want to delay the production.

And yes, those rumors were refuted.

I also don't buy the PD is a diva rumor at all. Or the Ellen ones, or the Katie ones.

Those actors get nasty rumors because they are the 4 people who make the fans talk the most and that is what those gossip want. People to talk.

I met TR. He is a sweetheart and extremely shy. He could barely look me in the eyes when I said I thought he was cute, and got all stuttery.

If TR absolutely wants to leave, they need to leave the door open.

If he dies, we will never see him again.

    How awful would that be?

He changes his mind in a year or two and he can't come back.

  24. Josh

Yes and there is the fact TR doesn't like to speak out on things. Isaiah spent months making the nastiest accusations against him, and he never said a word to defend himself.

Katie said it frustrated her, but he told her he didn't want to waste time on this.

How many interviews has TR done in his five seasons of Grey? 5, 6 max?

    He is a private person.

Katie is the one that always speaks out. TR stays quiet.

It doesn't mean he wouldn't like to have a story like everyone else and stay.

He also might not read the Internet and realize how many fans are upset about this. He said he read some nasty comments about his face a few months back, and stopped going on the Internet because he would lose sleep over the nasty comments.

He is a sensitive person who always claimed nobody could be interested in ordinary old him.

I doubt he knows just how many fans he has. This is the man who, when you pay him a compliment, changes the subject and compliment somebody else.

    The f

Oh and suffice it to say, George leaves, my wife and I leave too.

If season 5 is an example of the show without George, this show is not worth watching.
