American Idol Elimination: Danny Gokey
Danny Gokey has a great voice and a touching personal story.
But his consistently solid, albeit unspectacular, American Idol performances weren't enough to propel the singer into next week's finals; he was eliminated last night.
In the video montage that played at the conclusion of the show, Gokey reflected on his journey (which, sadly, included his wife passing away just weeks before his initial audition):
"It's almost like a fairy tale story. You read about tragedies, and then you read about the triumph that comes through it - and I'm that person. This whole experience feels like a dream come true. American Idol has given me a whole new hope for my life."
So, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will go head-to-head on the finale. Who do you think should win?

He is kind of like vanilla ice cream, tastes all right, pretty much what you would expect, no wow. Adam (though the tempation is to say: he is so much better than the rest, I'm going to say he shouldn't win just to be different). Adam is a much bigger talent, much more power/range in his voice, much more marketable, experienced, charismatic and so on.

Danny shouldnt have gone home! Is this show stupid or something?? All season long they just complimented on Adam and how good he was and they always overlooked Danny! Danny was the best and had meaning behind his music!! he would have been the best American Idol and set a good example!! But of course America is coming to its worse these days!! They never choose the best! America you definitely got it wrong this time, NICE JOB!!!

KRIS DOESNT DESERVE TO BE IN THE FINALS AND I THINK ALOT OF PPL KNOW THAT!! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DANNY! AI SUX AND IS RIGGED!!! DANNY GOKEY YOU ROCK AND YOUR VOICE IS WAY BETTER THAN KRIS AND ADAM!!! OUR TRUE AMERICAN IDOL DANNY GOKEY!!!

Danny was the best singer on the show, how can he be eliminated!! I could understand if he was beaten by Adam Lambert, but KRIS ALLEN!! WTF?? Am I missing something?? Now that Danny Gokey's out of American Idol, so is my vote! i truly think something happened with the votes on AI because i dont know how America let Danny Gokey GO! He is an AMAZING TALENTED SINGER! I seriously though he was going to WIN THIS! America has gone NUTS!!!! DANNY GOKEY YOUR THE BEST AND YOUR MY TRUE AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!
