Ed Westwick to Guest Star on Californication
The guest stars on HBO's hit comedy Californication next season range from rocker Rick Springfield to Gossip Girl's own Ed Westwick, according to reports.
In the comedy's third season season, main character Hank (David Duchovny) becomes a university prof. Ed Westwick will play a student fascinated by vampire literature and will appear in the second episode of the season. Should be fun!
Although we doubt he'll be dressed like this ...
Singer and former soap star Rick Springfield will also guest star, while Eva Amurri will play another of Hank's students, and Embeth Davidtz (of HBO's In Treatment) will portray the wife of the dean of students (Peter Gallagher of The OC).
Kathleen Turner and Diane Farr also will guest star in the comedy, which will offer 12 episodes starting this fall. Looking forward to seeing Ed Westwick on it!

Most young tv actors tend to make their first steps in the Big Screen by participating in silly (mostly) teen-horror movies and then, of course, they "burn" too fast and never make it to bigger and better roles. I hope it's better if Ed sticks to decent tv projects until he finds a really interesting role in a worth-while movie! This guy started his career under the directions of Anthony Minghella and Alfonso Cuaron when he was only 19-20 years old! This raises the bar too high for him and I hope it will "protect" him from bad and hasty choices.

You know I haven't read the last two Twilight books so I'm not sure what the new characters are like, but they definitely need to find a part for him (seeing as how the first movie is done and the second has cast all its characters). He would make a really good "bad" vampire I think. haha I can just see him giving Edward the "Chuck Bass stare" :-)

Before GG, he was in Son of Rambow - a critical success, Children of Men, and Breaking and Entering. He trained in London's Youth Theater. But since hitting GG, he chose 2 movies: 100 Feet - an indie supernatural thriller likely to go to DVD, and then S. Darko - another supernatural thriller. I'm wondering if he's just being a normal 21 year old guy and taking roles in the kind of movies he likes watching? Or else he's playing it smart and trying to avoid over-exposure. Chace has less acting experience than anyone on the cast, and I think it's risky for him to take a movie role at this point... if he fails, it will be really hard for him to overcome the label of "over-ambitious TV actor".

S Darko already came out and it went straight to DVD - it's being premiered on like the SciFi channel or something.

I'm pretty sure Ed is filming S.Darko, Donnie Darko's sequel...maybe in the future he'll get other interesting roles!
