For Now, George and Izzie's Fate Remains a Mystery
Did Izzie and George die, or will they be back next season?
Shonda Rhimes obviously isn't saying, as we could have predicted. But she did offer this new, vague quote on the subject in a recent talk with TV Guide:
“We will definitely answer those questions in the fall. As with anyone you come to love, you don’t want to see them die, but it’s all part of the circle of life.”
Hmmm ...
Still, she allows, “there are some top-notch doctors at Seattle Grace and although there may not be miracles, there could be some good medicine.”
How do you interpret that one?
Have we seen the last of Izzie Stevens at Seattle Grace?
While the potentially tragic demise of Izzie and George cast a pall over the Season 5 finale, things did end on a positive note for some Grey's Anatomy characters.
Christina and Hunt are on again, or at least heading that direction, Callie and Arizona are forging a deeper girlfriend-ship, and Der and Mer had a wedding - their way.
“I wanted you to feel happy for some people,” says the Grey's Anatomy creator and producer, noting that “Meredith, our dark and twisty girl, is whole and healed.”

Since TR Knight is leaving the show. I think Goerge should die! I beleave TR Knight should be the only actor to play Goerge. Its just wrong,and you know it. I have been watching Grey's Anatomy since the first season. Changing the actor isn't right. The actor who played Dr. Burk in the first couple of seasons wasn't changed, and Dr. Hun wasn't changed either. If TR Knight is leaving the show then Goerge should die. I'm sorry I just don't want to see this Grey's Anatomy end up like other shows. I really like Grey's Anatomyit is a good show that shouldn't be ruined by bad wrting. I also noticed other changes which I'm not going to get into right now. I just want you to know its not right what you are golng to do in season 6.

I believe that Geovgw will die and Izzie wont.
I think Izzie will live ans she will have lots of treatmen to go through. And life a happy life with husand Alex and hopely we will get to see that in this new season. I would like to see Izzie live and Alex happy for one. So please keep Izzie on the show she is great and Grey's is nothing with out her.

Don't exactly believe half of it (especially the hate part...TR doesn't seem like that to me) but this has just been released. This sucks.

im think someone had already mentioned this, but im going to say it again anyway...
medically, george has better chances of surviving than izzie. george was still moving his hand whereas izzie flat lined...
izzie had no pulse.... so if one of them lives and one of them dies, medically george would live...
but from grey's anatomy point of view i think izzie would live

I have read from other online sites on the topic of Izzie and George that if they choose to leave the show before there 7 yr contract is over. They have to make guest appearances over the next 2 yrs. And what do you think that means for the viewer? Ghost Izzie and George? If they do that I will be more than pissed. Cause up until we found out that Izzie had cancer I thought that Denny was a ghost. And I hated seeing him, his time should of been over when he died. That whole story line was horrible. I just hope they don't do that with Izzie and George and take up time that could be better used in the next 2 yrs.

I agree with Kat. I think the problem with George living is then they have to deal with the whole idea of the fact he has enlisted. Unless he is left with something that would prevent him from now having to go over there, he has to die. Welll, technically he could live, go to Iraq and still end up leaving the show... and possibly coming back like they did with characters on ER.
I think to stay true to the integrity of the medicine they have to have Izzie die as well. I am going to assume they are both gone. That is how I deal with things assume the worst. Which, in this case is also the most logical story line

Same here. I only like Izzie with George. Gizzie forever. So I want them either both dead or both alive. If I have to pick one to live, I'm picking George. I just love him, and he deserves a big story and some love.
He just rocks and I'm tired of him always being picked on by Shonda and all the other loser characters who aren't half as amazing as him.
Shonda will lose all of us George fans if she kills him.

I am a Gizzie fan but Izzie can die. I hate her with Alex. She's irritating and she's taking over the show.
George is the heart and soul of Grey. This season was awful without him. So if he dies, I'm gone and so will many of us.

i noticed george's face all melted off,maybe his character will remain just with another actor. ofcourse his face will be different because sloan got to do one of those cool face transplants on him!

I just watched the episode "Stairway To Heaven" again-brilliant! God I LOVE Katherine Heigl she did an awesome job in this episode-well, this entire season. What a great (but sad) storyline! She did such a wonderfull job, god I can talk about it for hours. Her seeying Denny, than doing the nasty nasty, then sending him away and still in denial, then facing her illness full force...WOW!
Can't stretsh it enough: LET THEM LIVE!!!
Pff...I'm in such a grey's high right now, really can't wait for all these months.
