Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: George's Departure
With all the attention paid to whether or not Izzie will pass away tomorrow night, another major question has been more or less overlooked: Does this week's fifth season finale mark the final episode for another beloved character, Dr. George O'Malley?
Here's what TV Guide has to say in its spoiler chat ...
Q: What can you spill about the two-hour Grey's Anatomy season finale? Are we definitely saying goodbye to George and T.R. Knight?
A: Yes, there are rumors swirling that the finale not only paves the way for George's departure from Seattle Grace, but perhaps also his exit from this plane of existence as well.
I presented said scuttlebutt to Chyler Leigh (who plays Lexie), and asked if she feels she's shared the Grey's Anatomy set with Knight a final time. "Not that I know of," she said. "I'm not even sure T.R. knows [what the future holds]. I don't think anybody knows what's going to happen."
Well, nobody except Shonda Rhimes, that is.

Are you out of your minds? I'm a 57 year old woman[ well preserved I might add], I love George. I have been watching him since the beginning and I don't care what his sexuality is, he certainly gave me something to look forward to when I was going through a terrible divorce. For the love of God, do an old lady a solid and get him back ASAP.

I think its more than def that George dies ! If you go onto IMDB it shows you what certain actors are filming at the moment and what they're going to film ! For Izzie's actor ,they say that she's filmed the first episode of the 6th season ! However, for T.R Knight , he hasnt filmed the first episode and it isnt listed that he is going to be filming in any Grey's anatomy episode later on !! :(

i luvd and hated the finale. i mean George dieing...killing him off is the worst decision imo. I could see it coming, i mean you see him every trauma case and then never again.
TR aparently wanted to leave since washington ( Berke) called him gay and stuff.]
If george dies, it will devestate the team soo much.
i mean they may not show it but they have had a strong bond since day 1. imagine how the series would feel.
if shonda is reading this. Iwould personally put feelings aside (same for TR) and make this fantasy show better.
Killing Izzie would never happen imo, i mean what would it show to cancer patients, that fighting only causes deeath? no it should be an inspiration.
I kno you guys cba to read it all, but im unloading all this after watching the finale. (merediths reaction to 007 was priceless. No better acting required)

Here's my theory, Peraps they both come back. For one, why insert the possibility of a love interest for George (as in the girl he pushed out of the path of the on coming bus) if he's not coming back and for another why put Korev trough yet MORE heart ache on this show? He has already been through a rough childhood, fell in love with crazy girl, lost crazy girl, fell in love with Izzie, dealt with Izzie through her Denny hallucinations and cancer and NOW he's going to loose HER too? I think that loosing Burke opened the door for Christina's happiness. George almost loosing his life in such a heroic fashion opens the door to HIS happiness and as for Izzie, she is the "Joy" on this show. So lets hope that when the writers regroup they listen to the cries of the public and find a middle ground between what Shonda (who has not failed us yet in glueing us to the TV week after week) wants to create and what we, the people, want to see. Until then, lets count the days until Season 6.

To all of you who say it isn't Shonda - it SO is. If TR Knight want out, who can blame him. First he gets abuse from Isaiah Washington and it took a lot time to fix that. Then she barely gives him any air-time last year. Of course, he wants out. But don't kid yourself, it's Shonda. But here's the thing - if he wants out and you KNOW he has a huge fanbase - the SMART thing to do is by all means, have him join the army. Ok, he's out, he's a hero to his country. But nope - Shonda wants revenge and she wants all the hoopla she's getting. Everyone's talking about the show. BUT - it's not nice things. I think maybe she's realizing how big the fanbase of TR Knight as George on Grey's REALLY is. I hope she can find a way to mend the fences and fix George. If she kills him (and Izzie) off, the public WILL have the last word. We'll stop watching, plain and simple. Do not be deceived, it is Shonda. We'll wait and see what she decides to do with her series. She can do whatever she wants, it's her

I don't believe that Shonda has anything against T.R. Knight at all. I also don't believe that there is an underlying vendetta that she has against hime at all. I think that he is a great actor, but at the end of the day she is doing what is best for the storyline and for the show in general. I would hate if both of them left the show because I think that they add a special dynamic to show that no other actor could replace. Just as I believe that when Burke (no matter how you felt about him) left the show, there was something missing. But whatever decision is made, I will continue to watch Grey's Anatomy because I am a FAN of Grey's Anatomy as a whole. EACH actor adds their own special quality to the show, and that is what makes the show great...not just one or two people.
