They won't replace T.R. Shonda has said that she does not think actors can be replaced (when asked if someone was replacing Isaiah Washington to play Burke). Let's hope she stays true to her word because that would be so messed up if there was a different actor playing George.

Does anyone remember when the rumours about KH and TR.K wanting to be off the show actually started? Because I thought they appeared already in the fourth season or even earlier (I might be wrong though). It can mean that either we shouldn't believe the gossips (both actors stayed so far despite the rumours), or that they really want to be off the show and that this whole season was leading making us ready for their departure.
I personally think that KH will stay and the rumours about her departure were, at least partly, a publicity stunt to make us wonder if Izzie survives or not till the next season.
However, in case of TR Knight, I think that this season was supposed to make us used to not seeing George in the future. He got so little airtime that it kind of worked, in a way. But, of course, the writers know how much George is liked, so a cliffhanger must have been written into the script to make his departure less obvious.

I'd like for Izzie to die since I can't stand her (and would make her story a little more believable) but I do believe George isn't going to make it. And I'd throw this theory out the window. There would be some serious backlash from it so I don't think it's a real possibilty here (about George being replaced).
And to the person that said about the post it campaign, I believe it was shut off since they started to fear that it might backlash on Shonda taking revenge on MerDer.

Ok so I'm thinking of alot of options, i'm going to throw this one out. I think that Izzie will die but maybe George will be saved because why would they introduce a new possible love interest maybe it will be about him going through rehab in a bid to show off his acting abilities? I think Izzie will die so the burden isn't on Derek or the oncologist she died from a side effect of the cancer so its nobody's fault it would be a little unrealistic if she came back from such a severe form of cancer. Besides if she is saved eventually she will die or leave the show because we all know Katherine Heigel's intention to leave and if they make her die again in season 6 it will be repetitive.

Ugh, nooo.
You can't just replace George.
As everyone else has said, TR has a way of speaking and acting that can't be imitated by someone else.
Blehh, I'd rather see him die than some crappy imitation :(

Wait scratch that. When I commented I was looking @ the last post on the 1st page. I don't necessarily think the writers are always brilliant. I really hope they don't do that. I want them both 2 live! but if T.R.is leaving then george should die

That would be the biggest mistake they could ever do. It would make the show look more stupid than even the ghost sex did.
I don't want George to die, but with all the injuries he has, I guess the character is better dead than suffering during all the season.
I wish Izzie would be the one dying, I can not stand her and Katherine Heigl anymore.

you know, George's hands were pretty bad; so in my understanding it would take him quite a lot of time before he could go back to practicing surgery. It would be the financially sound option since he would only come back near the end of season 6.
What about Izzie, has anyone heard anything?

They better not do that! I think all the fans - including myself - would riot if they had another actor playing our George! T.R. Knight is George, and if he's leaving (which I really hope he doesn't), George has to leave too.

I want both George and Izzie to live.
KH as Izzie. TR as George.
If one or the other dies, I want them both to die.
And no one but TR as George. TR is amazing as George and completely IRREPLACEABLE!

I guess nobody here has ever watched Bewitched. I thought Dick York got replaced because he died, but apparently that was not the case. And yes, I could tell the difference between him and Dick Sargent. It did not ruin my enjoyment of the show at all.

Now wouldn't that be a slap in the face for TR if he got replaced completely. Perhaps Mer would realise he wasn't 007? Tee Hee, it gives us all something to do other than writing post-its to the GA producers. There's a post-it campaign on you tube regarding the lack of a MerDer wedding

No,no, no the writers are a bit more savvy than switching George's I think the elevator scene set it up its a matter of will and what is best for the characters and the show George's story was getting stale if the writers can spice it up I am all for George coming back - I think what would be ideal is if George could survive and then leave the show to go to war and then return down the line, I think his war experience could enhance his character.

A new Georege,actually I think it's the best for GA,if Knight has to leave and the new actor can do his job well, even though I hope T.R.Knight play as George and I will miss him.
GA is about 5 interns, if two of them died,the drama is not GA any more,no matter how amazing the new actors/actresses are and how wonderful the drama is.

That would just be stupid! T.R.'s eyes are so special and unique, one would see it's not him... and wouldn't Mark be able to rebuild his face when he know what George looks like?

It has been made very clear that Denny was NOT a ghost. He was an hallucination. And George with a different face? That would be completely corny and Shonda is above that.

I rather see him dead than another guy portariding him... Wouldn't realistic, imo! Besides, too soap-opera...
