Oh how the mighty have fallen.  ABC is moving its once beloved Ugly Betty to the graveyard slot known as Friday nights next season.

So why is ABC banishing Betty to Fridays?  Well to make room for its future Lost replacement, Flash Forward, to take over the Betty timeslot and air back-to-back with Lost during its final season.

ABC's president, Stephen McPherson defended the decision by saying, "I love the show [and] America [Ferrera] is one of our biggest stars.  [But] you look at [Betty's declining ratings on] Thursday night and we think we have a big opportunity with Flash Forward."

McPherson continued, "You have to make some bold moves sometimes. To me, I'd love to see [Betty] have a great run on Friday night the way Ghost Whisperer has [for CBS]."

Don't worry, Ugly Betty's two hour season finale is still airing this Thursday.  Changes are for next season!
