I'm glad to hear the news. Hopefully Izzie will recover fully. I like Izzie a lot, although I don't know about Katherine Heigl.

I have to agree with IzzieLover on this. It does not seem credible that Izzie would survive her illness because her cancer is so far advanced. It's just too contrived to be believable that she can recover from stage 4 metastatic cancer that has spread to 4 distant sites.
I think her cancer storyline was very well done thus far but it has reached a logical conclusion - staging a miraculous recovery will be a jump-the-shark soap opera moment imo.

Oh im soooooooooooooooooooooo excited i have wet my knickers that my idol izzy will be back on my screen in september. what will i do in the meantime. Does anyone want to dress up as IZZy for me? george dont flot me bot so he can go and star in a porn film.

I am so glad that Izzie is coming back. I will miss George very, very much, however if Izzie was cut also, I would not stay a weekly viewer.

yesss im soo happy. as much as i love izzie and george, i knew that if i had to pick which one i wanted to live, it would be izzie. this is great news and it just makes me even more excited for season 6!

Love Izzie - great news!!!! I'll miss George but I would have missed Izzie more. Can't wait for season 6 - Katherine is great and I'm super happy she is staying!

Love the show from the beginning. Sad to see TR go. I think Izzie should go too. They can bring her back in dream/ghost appearances through out the series or atleast the 6th season. Which they have done successfully in past seasons. I am glad Mer_deth is married and they can show the solid relationships work and survive etc. alex will be hurt but that too is a story line and he'll grow as a character. As one viewer sadi, Izzie had cancer. and it is real life that people do not make it. This is a hospital and sometimes real life drama can work on TV. But who knows, I will TIVO and still own the series etc. Great Show.

I'm actually really happy she's staying. While Izzie isn't my favorite character, and i don't like her at a lot of times, but i don't think the others would be able to handle TWO of their friends dying. At least she'll be staying and be one of the rare cancer survivers.

i have to disagree with one of the comments. the only good thing about burke was that it gave christina someone to be with. he didnt bring any excitement or good story lines to the show however. & i love addi too, but she was nothing more that the bitchy ex wife..at least on private practice you can like her as a character and see more of her. and i am sad that george is leaving but you can't blame shonda.. he wanted out of the contract, which was his choice.. and sure he didnt get any story lines recently but what story line could he have got. at least with george leaving it will give some good , maybe sad story lines for next season... im so excited katherine is staying.. i probably wouldnt watch grey's without her or at least like to watch it. izzie brings good story lines to the show and shes actually interesting to watchh

I have mixed feelings. I love Katherine Heigl and her character, Izzie, but bringing the character back when she has metastatic cancer all over her body is just not credible, even for tv. I really don't want to watch a repeat season of watching Izzie die. And it would leave Alex with nothing to do except wring his hands and watch her die, so then you are really missing three characters, George, Izzie, and Alex, since niether Izzie nor Alex would have an original storyline.

Well, why wouldn't she stay? The majority of last season should have been renamed "Izzy's Anatomy". Don't get me wrong, I like Izzy & would not like it if another of the Fab Five departed. However, I feel like she got too much screen time last season. JMO, though. Glad she's staying.

Personally, since George died, I'd rather that Izzie died with him. It sounds horrible, but speaking as a Gizzie fan (God forbid I support such an "incest," "digusting" couple!) I think both should either live or die together because I believe they are soul mates. But hey, what do I know? I'm just an outsider now.

So glad Izzie is coming back for Alex's sake. Love them together. Also loving McSteamy and Little Grey together. Love Callie but not the lesbian story line.

just read this its OFFICIAL....SOOO SAD...
T.R. Knight has released the official word that he is leaving the series that made him mildly famous, Grey's Anatomy.
He says: "Leaving Grey's Anatomy was not an easy decision for me to make. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to play this character and will miss my fellow cast and crew very much. I continue to wish them the very best, and wholeheartedly thank all of the fans who have supported me and the show with such passion and enthusiasm."
Not to be outdone, creator Shonda Rhimes followed suit and released her own statement regarding Knight's departure.
She adds, "I think I speak for the entire Grey’s Anatomy family when I say we wish T.R. Knight the best in his future endeavors. He is an incredibly talented actor and a person whose strength of character is admired by all of us.â€

I'm glad. She's such a talented actress, and Izzie is a very resilient character. It'll be interesting to see how her recovery from cancer plays out.
I will really miss the George and Izzie friendship, though.

I was just on Enews under marc malkin and T.r.knights talk about why he left the show and that he is hanging up his scrubs and that he says so him self that he is leaving the show so you can check it out

I too wish for George would've be the one to stay and find real love. Izzie could've gone to heaven to be with the true love of her life Denny.

i am glad that izzies character is coming back, I really hope we don't have repetition this next season with her illness, and I really hope that we don't haver her go all the way into remission only to have her cancer come back and the same repeated mess again.

I think it would be death to the show if they killed off 2 major characters. I believe both should live, even though George has confirmed he is leaving the show. He could survive and still join the Army, that way it would leave it open for future guest appearances. Izzie should live because Alex deserves a chance to be happy with the woman he truly loves. Poor guy... :(
I can't wait till September 24th! I hope it comes quickly!

i'm so glad that izzie is coming back to next season but also this kind of news or whatever they change every week or so...so i will really believe it until i see her on the season premiere hahahaha but i'm still sad that george is leaving the show he was a great character we'll miss him....

Okay, Mer-Der is NOT the core of the show. MAGIC is the core of the show, Meredith is the core of the show and maybe Derek comes along for the ride, but Mer Der the couple is NOT the core. i am so so so SO angry because TR is leaving. George is so amazing, the show has suffered a loss, no doubt. I'm going to miss Bambi/007. First Burke (i know IW was an ass but his character was awesome) then Addie (loved, loved, LOVED addison!) and now George. This is getting ridiculous. I knew this is how it was going to end up KH stays and TRK goes. In all honesty, now Izzie will survive, and be all sad of George, and we'll be all sad because Georgie is gone, and then they'll cut to a Lexie-Mark scene and then I'll be really mad.
