I watch for George, always has. I started watching after seeing him do the surgery in the elevator. Then I fell for Gizzie too.

Their love was so special and beautiful. It was the only ,love who felt like love and not lust.

Shonda trashed it completely to make the haters happy, but she was never able to kill my love for them or make me root for Lexzie.

My heart is broken right now.

What I wanted Silver? I wanted for George not to die. I wanted for him to go to the army and be a hero and not die.

  2. Andrea

Silver, you asked very respectfully so I'll answer you.

What I wanted was George to go off to the army, not for him to die. There is no chance for Isaiah to come back yet he didn't die.

Even if TR decided never to visit, just knowing George was being a hero and saving people and proving his worth would have made me happy.

George was always the underdog. It was always painful to me to see the others ridicule him and everything knowing he was such a great person and doctor.

I lived with it because I thought in the end, he would make it, earn everyone's respect and become this great doctor.

But now by killing him and in such an awful manner, she has made all his pain for nothing.

And yes, if TR wanted to visit one episode or two, he never can again.

It feels as if even Hahn was left the door open, even A»va, but she killed George.

I also can't help but feel TR might have stayed if he was given something to do.

As for Grey, I used to be a fan but it feels like S

I don't understand how some people are "true" Grey's fans if they say "George, your last episode was my last episode." or "I'm so done with watching this show. I won't be next season.". I don't know about everybody else here but as much as I hate some of the show's plotlines, I could NEVER not watch it purposely! I mean to be sitting there every Thursday and looking at the clock at nine, knowing Grey's was on but I wasn't watching it. I'd drive myself insane with the debate in my head - in the end turning the TV on at 9:01! :)

I wonder why Shonda has to kill George off. All the other characters that have left Grey's....they were left with an option of returning to Seattle Grace. Even Denny- in Izzie's dreams. Except for George- he was just brutally killed off, which closes the door of any future T.R. returns to the show. I don't understand why this has to be the case.

ok i'm trying to play devils advocate here so please don't bite my head. But i've been reading a lot of comments that have been made about TR's departure on this site, and on the ABC website, and a lot of people had made it clear that they won't be watching the show anymore becuase Shonda has (possably) killed George off.

Now while i fully respect these opinions i do have one issue, and that's in regards to all these fans that now say that they hate Shonda for doing this and that they'll never forgive her.

So really i'd like to ask all of you who have been saying this a question....would you have seriously preferred for Shonda to have used the accident as a way of bringing in a new actor to play the character of George? would you have seriosuly have felt less cheated by that then George being killed of becuase i wouldn't. Personally i would have felt that Shonda had cheapened the character of George and the work TR has done over the last five years if she had.

    We all need t

    I agree 100% with Coco.
I dont understand why Shonda doesn't realise that George was very important character and just kill him with no a proper episode that we are going to see him for a last time (and i don't mean flashbacks) is just wrong. I don't know if TR himself didn't want to play anymore for GA, but i know that George wasn't just another character that can easily replace him.
George character fall in love with Izzie, but they broke up because the sex was horrible!!, failed his exams, Lexie was inlove with him for a few episodes and then she fall inlove with Mark, his role was 5 seconds per episode, he practically gave Izzie to Alex on her wedding, he wasn't arround on Izzie cancer and got hit by a bus. seriously?
I really want to see a last episode with George, because we Georgefans deserve after this season. I would rather see him dead at the first place at the beginning of season 5 than saw his character turning into an extra. And by the way GA would a lot better if Gizzi

Id miss you George ! RIP ! :(

I very sad for George death, he is my favorite character, the least that Shonda can do if given a funeral.
I don't know what was the exactly problem between Shonda and T.R, but she knows that he want more storylines and she didn't gave to him.
I am bothered by the way she did things, if she knew that he wanted to go she could make a better final for him. Shonda treat it as an extra the whole season. T.R was an entire season without doing anything, just because they did not want the audience realized that he was the patient beaten by a bus, which I think there all excuses. But the unforgivable is that he had not interference in the history of Izzie, george is his best friend, he had to be present in that hard time. There aren't excuses for that.
Why she kill him?, I think that all fans wanted a happy ending for Goerge or at least that he didn't die. Why all character that leave the show there are still alive and not Georgie?.
George is the reason why a see Grey's , I don't think that

  10. Coco

That's what bugs me. She didn't have to kill George but if she wanted to do it, then at least make the episode about him and let the others say goodbye to him. Let the fans say goodbye. Killing him was not what the fans wanted. Now it seems they actually considered letting him live even after TR refsued to came back, but they still went ahead with it, even though the vast majority of the fans have said this is not what they wanted.

Why? It feels as if the show wants to eliminate George permanently and will do it regardless of how we feel.

Alex and Mark never had that much story until season 4, but we always saw their characters a lot.

We didn't see George all season.

It doesn't compare. Justin and Eric were never treated like extras. TR was.

  11. H

About season 4, are you serious? The Gizzie relationship got about 3 minutes per episode in season 4, most often involving George running for no reason. His marriage issues? It was dealt with in one episode and completely dropped the next episode. Callie moved on right away, and we didn't even see the divorce.

His internship was completely glossed over. His focusing on his career? Never shown. He had a few scenes with Lexie and that was it.

All you say sounds good on paper but all those stories were very superficially addressed and dropped very quickly. It got almost no airtime. Gexie was always about Lexie and what she thought. They never gave george importance enough to let us know what he felt about her, and what he thought. It was all about Lexie and introducing her. Not about George.

Reading your list makes me even madder, because it takes aside every excuse about not having anything to write about George.

They had plenty. They ahd all this, and they wasted it. They wa

  12. H

Please you can't seriously compare the two.

Alex had no story but he always had good airtime. You don't get this. We are not whining about George not having a story. We are saying he didn't have any airtime. Even when Alex didn't have a story, he was always part of the fab 5. He was never ever treated like an extra.

In the first 10 episodes this season, on average, George didn't get more than 2 minutes per episode.

He showed up for 5 seconds one episode to have a door closed on his face. That's all he had.

    This never happened to Alex.

It got so bad the critics like Aussiello started investigating it and mentioning it.

I don't remember them doing this with other characters.

So don,t compare with Alex. Alex wasn't erased. Alex wasn't cut off completely from the fab 5 for episodes on end.

George wasn't backburnered. He was wallpapered so much that new viewers I know thought he was one of the guest cast.

Mark, Callie, Alex, Cristina, even in seasons when they ahd

  13. !greys

also about the no storylines, alex had NO important storylines in season1 and 2 accept for izzie in like 2 episodes...this is and ENSEMBLE cast..

  14. Elsa

George for me was Grey. He was a hero in every way. He was sweet and funny and so amazing. Yet all he ever got from the other characters was disrespect and mockery. Izzie, his person, shut him out of her own wedding. They all shut him outé

Shonda acted like George and Izzie never loved each other just because the haters scared her, even though many of us loved that couple and knew what they had was real.

After Gizzie ended, she trashed their friendship and cut George so far from the rest, he never found his place anymore.

I mkissed him. I missed him every episode. George brought humanity to the show, and he was an amazing person. Shonda just never let him win anything though.

TR could have done Broadway and the show. He could have done Broadway during the summer and Grey the rest of the time.

That's what he wanted. He wanted George to have a story and George to be allowed to grow.

All TR wanted was more than 2 minutes per episode.

That's what the fans wanted too.

  15. !greys

george didn't have a storyline this season! he had one in the 4th, he had his relationship with izzie, his marraige issues, and becoming a doctor to focusing on his future career and to finding out he could retake his test with lexie as his roomate!

  16. !greys

OMG!!!!!!!! people are going crazy over this! if you don't like the show anymore GET OFF THIS FANBASE! how can they let george live if t.r. doesn't want to come back this season to be in ANY episodes...they cant just be like "OH george lived and moved to mercy west BUT noone is saying goodbye to him" WTF guys? what more do you want from shonda, she can't please everyone! if you ask me its more SELFISH of t.r. to not finish his story then it is in shondas shoes. jesus guys! everyone got less storylines before! christina in season 4 had NO good storylines until the last two when she realized she was upset with burkes absence. george was put on the backburner this season for a reason! for the BEST finale of greys ever! and YES i think george was perfect for this john doe storyline because HELLO, he went off with his bestfriend basically!!! do you think it would have been just as good if it was christina and izzie at the elevator scene? or baily and izzie?!?! HELL NO! like ace said so perf

  17. Laurence

I'm happy for TR of course. It doesn't mean I don't wish Shonda would have given him a big story the last two years. It doesn't mean I accept her killing him when she could easily have him just leave so we could have seen him in the future.

George was my favorite character. For me, he was the heart and soul of Grey. He was the one that made me tune in every single week, and the one I always looked forward to seeing.

As a Gizzie fan, I will forever be upset that Shonda couldn't at least respect their friendship.

George should have been her best person. Izzie should have asked him. The fact she din't even ask him to be part of her wedding just kills me.

Those are all choices Shonda made. I don't blame her for TR leaving but I do blame her for killing George and making his character disappear the last two seasons and making everyone forget about him, even Izzie.

The end line with the photo of George made me uneasy.

R.I.P. George O'Malley. You are and always will be my favorite fictional character. You're a true hero and now you can finally rest in peace without having to continue to deal with emotional pain.

On a brighter note though, at least T.R. is happy. Anyone seen recent photos of him? He's all smiles. I'd rather see this and have him move forward with his career than having him not be happy and stay on Grey's.

I do think them killing George is a mistake though. Let him live and send him to Mercy West.

'This funeral is going to be sadder than Michael jackson's! I LOVE George O'malley!"

    surely you jest?

    If not, then....perspective.

I agree with Carole about the whole not being a part of Izzie's cancer the part that really bothered me was when Izzie got married she let Christina be her made of honor someone for the past 4 seasons she never got along with. And while it was touching that George helped her down the isle,it would of been much more special if she came to him before the wedding and asked him to give her away and walk her down the WHOLE way.

  22. Lily

everyones opinions are very biased here. sure, george was a nice part of greys and he will forever be remembered and missed but he has gotten a lot of roles on broadway and isnt that what he wanted?

also, the world of the writers and actors are something we know nothing of so we shouldnt be arguing over something that to be honest, we probably dont even know the half of.... just saying....

  23. jess

I'm not particularly happy with Shonda right now.
    Or Krista.
    Or IW, for that matter.

I really hope that George's funeral isn't at all about Izzie and is full of flashbacks wiht happy George memories.
Or that it's really Izzie who died.

  24. Carole

IMo TR would have stayed if Shonda had given George something to do. This is a 125,000 an episode gig. You really think if he didn't feel like Shonda had no love for George anymore and didn't refuse to write for him.

He stayed 2 years waiting for a story. He finally had enough.

Katherine got a good story and changed her mind.

Even if he had still decided to leave, she didn't have to kill him off.

Killking him is permanent. Leaving to the army wasn't.

And even if he was leaving, she could have given him more screen time so we could have said goodbye. She didn't even let him be involved in Izzie's cancer story.

She did this all wrong. She's the one who decided to kill him.

    TR wasn't.

I'm not even that angry, just really heartbroken and sad.

I missed George all season. The show wasn't half as good without him, and I think Grey has lost its magic.

Season 5 was panned by the critics and many fans. I'm glad for those who enjoyed it, but many didn't.

    I'll just

Give me a break. After George,Meredith is the least used character on the show.

She got what 20 minutes all season.

I am a little bit tired of being told to give Shonda a break.

Point is, she is the one who did not use TR the entire two seasons. That is probably why he quit.

So yeah it was her choice. As it was her choice to kill him off.

Burke and Hahn left and they did not die. Ava did not die.

But she killed George. That way even if TR decides to come back, he can
