This is nice. Finally! I could see Hilary back on tv, and on my favorite show. Move over Serena. Dolivia would be a hit. Hope she becomes a series regular after this. Gossip Girl Season 3 is getting better and hotter. :)

I agree Hilary Duff does not fit in with GG cast AT ALL.
I don't mind her, (I actually used to be a huge fan, but not anymore) but I really don't like her in GG.
No way! no need of fallen disney princesses! who comes next, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus? the Gossip Girl possee is very well established now, no need of Hilary Duff to come and overshadow our favourite cast with her good girl looks !!!! lol this sounds like one of those stupid disney teen flicks (it has plenty similarity with Hannah Montana!!)
i don't think I'm happy about her hooking up with Dan (or coming on the show at all)! but if she hooks up with vanessa, i'm happy.

I've never had anything against Hilary Duff, but her being on Gossip Girl? I mean.. come on?! That's just stupid.
The storyline sounds like something from one of her movies, and u know, I think this could have a really problematic turnout for the show. Not that one actor can ruin an entire show, but I'm afraid that it will be the beginning of the end.
I just finished watching season 1, and it was so clever and thought through, that I actually got all emotional because of the great effort from both writers and actors. I fell in love with the show all over again, because I now remembered why I was so hooked on it in the first place. You didn't know any of the actors, and they just kept on surprising you. Especially Ed and Leighton. So why not hire unknown actors like them? I love Ed and Leighton, but those two really need to be around actors that can challenge them. It's the only way, that the show can keep on being original. Chuck and Blair are perfect together, but you only have

I've never seen Hilary Duff in anything, and only know a little of her by reputation (Disney, Lizzie McGuire movie/tv show, manufactured pop singer, tween fashion line at department store...). I don't have an opinion as to whether she was a good or terrible actress, but in any case, she may have matured and acquired more skill along the way.
The role she is being cast in seems to make sense, as she will certainly know how to act like a star, so it shouldn't be much of a stretch. Casting an unknown in this role would seem a dumb idea in this case. Someone suggested Lauren Conrad -> all I know is that she is from the reality show The Hills, and reality shows involve VERY little acting (I LOATHE THEM!!!!).
So, all in all, I'm not got enough information to make a judgement beforehand, which I think is a good thing. Always best to see how things play themselves out, because the writers know a hell of a lot better than we do what is in store for the characters, and (almost always) thin

Leave Hilary alone. Like another poster said watch What Goes Up & also watch War,Inc. She has really improved as a actress. You guys are talking like Gossip Girl is a Emmy nominated show.

I have no issue with Hilary Duff and I dont believe she is a terrible actress but my problm is that she is too well known now. Hilary has the disney star image and like everyone is saying she doesnt fit!
Even though the GG cast is now famous having Hilary Duff seems just too far. It will be to conflicting trying to imagine her as this character when you have all her other roles in the back of your mind :) shame because the storyline sounds kind of fun but possibly a little too disney movie but then again maybe thats why they chose her :)

I don't think its a good idea to include hilary duff in the series... But I just hope she can portray her role well so that i'll enjoy watching GG more esp. now that D and S is not working it out :(

Hilary is tolerable to me i guess, but would much rather someone not known. Especially because when i look at her i see disney star. But , as long as she stays away from my dearest Chuck its okay with me, I think dan needs some kind of storyline anyways.
