Jessica Capshaw: Katherine Heigl is a Powerhouse
New cast member Jessica Capshaw is gushing over Grey’s Anatomy.
“I personally was a fan of Grey’s Anatomy before I went there so I run the risk of sounding - now that I get to be a part of the cast - braggy because I think it’s awesome!” says the actress, who plays Seattle Grace’s newest resident, Dr. Arizona Robbins.
Talking to People at the the One Year Anniversary Party for 3.1 Phillip Lim Los Angeles store, Jessica Capshaw cited the tear-jerking finale as a reason to love the drama.
“I’ve heard a lot of people tell me what [was great about the fifth season finale was] the insane pace and how heartbreaking it was,” the 32-year-old actress says, “and emotional and intense - and all of the good things you tune into television for.”
Although T.R. Knight has officially left, Capshaw says she’s happy to have more time to bond with co-star Katherine Heigl, whom she called a “wonderful woman.”
“She’s a powerhouse. She’s beautiful, she’s funny, she’s strong and she’s certainly got a burden of riches right now,” Capshaw said of The Ugly Truth star.
“[Katherine Heigl] has a wonderful career in so many different ways. She’s always struck me as someone who is really aware at how wonderful she has it.”

CAPSHAW is now a season regular in season 6. We are glad we got her. Or atleast I'm glad she is on Greys. She is freaking awsome. Lookin forward to what she brings to the relationship between her and Callie.

Yes, she was a series regular in 'The Practice' for the last two seasons of the show prior to ABC cancelling it and spinning it off with Boston Legal.

I read that too that she appeared on PP, but I think that whoever wrote that, made a mistake. Jessica Capshaw starred on a show called 'The Practice' but never appeared on 'Prive Practice'. Similar sounding names, but o so different series...

Katie's in the Daily Mail in the UK today, she's gone brunette!! Looks gorgeous! She's back on set filming GA so obviously she's definitely returning. Yay.

Arizona Robbins is an awesome addition to the show. I think she'll definitely fill the gap, speciality-wise, that Addison left with the neonatal surgery department.
Granted, Arizona won't practice exclusively on babies, but peds surgery can still encompass that aspect of it.
