People seriously...she doesnt make her jokes about Grey's Anatomy only she jokes about everything, she did it about Knocked Up, shes done it about 27 Dresses, I mean jesus, its her PERSONALITY. Shes her own person, she doesn't say what her publicist tells her to say, nor does she try to be someone she isn't. She is basically saying this is me take it or leave it. If the writers and producers, and network really thought she was THAT ungrateful that would of fired her a long time ago. We all know they have no problem doing that what with getting rid of Isaiah and T.R., and Brooke.
I feel that Katherine Heigl, PERSONALLY(my opinion), is very refreshing and an excellant role model. Does she say some things she shouldnt say yes, but dont we ALL. Is everyone in here really that perfect? Doesn't everyone bitch about their job, the so called hand the feeds you. We all do it, and she is no different. She is speaking her mind, she is showing young women, that you can say what you want and IT

Wow, some of you are so whiney...and misinformed.
I agree with !greys and GreyGuy. She was incredibly genuine, funny, and just trying to have fun on the late show...where you're supposed to joke around about things. What kind of life is it if you can't joke and have fun?
Also, she didn't say anything bad about TR. According to the other articles I've read, she is friends with TR both on and off screen. It was his choice to leave the show...yes, many things that the writers and such did on the show led him to make that decision...but it was his decision. And if in realty it wasn't, then I feel bad for him, but I'm sure he'll move on to better things where he is happier. As for Heigl...she made the choice, and obviously worked it out with the writers and her superiors, to come back. So give it a rest.
Personally, Izzy is one of my favorite characters on the show. Though, I feel the show is overly dramatic, depressing, and somewhat poorly written at times (which, PS...the fact

Yeah well...to some this was THE storyline to love Izzie, to me it wasn't. I got so tired of her but I'll admit that half of the problem is KH. By some reason, since I cannot tolerate KH that well, I can't stand Izzie too, although Izzie was my least fav of the characters since it started.
As for KH, ABC is using her for marketing of the show and in the means she promotes the movie. It's a marketing game but it's a one KH is at and she's good at it. Ellen and Sandra have other interests or priorities and don't like it and it's also not in their personalities, which I fully respect.
My problem is that when she's trying to make a joke, which she was, she is placing GA in a bad position of how hard they make her work or whatever. If she wants to talk about GA, just say nice things of the hand that feeds you, not mock it because it's going to result in this.
In that way, I have to say that I have far more respect for PD than KH. He handles the press in a more classy manner when
OK..anuflas. I've got your point :) I just cant believe that someone don't like Izzie after this season because KH and the writers did a wonderful job with her this year.
And one more thing to "KH's case". I don't know her but I really like her as an actress. I think she's funny and that she has a style. That's true. In my opinion she publicize GA very much whatever she says. Because she's kind a "star" now. And she's talking about GA or Izzie in almost every interview. Nothing against Ellen or Sandra but Katherine is currently the star #1. Her and Patrick have a success on a big screen. She's really important for the show and SR knows that

Mari,
English is fine. Don't worry.
KH can say whatever she wants, she does it anyway. I am annoyed by the fact that she has the need to make her jokes around GA. She's promoting the movie, not the show! Find new jokes. She finds the need to backfire on the show everytime she has the chance. It's getting old and annoying. It's why some people can't stand her.
The InStyle comments...thank God I didn't buy the magazine. She's justifying her opinions whether they made damage or not.
My point is that KH needs to think before she speaks. She may not realize that some of her "opinions" might hurt someone else. Or maybe just stay shut. Avoid the question. Whatever.

Jelly,
It's all cool. A lot of MerDer fans don't ask for the MerDer show, just a little balance in the storylines. S.5 failed in that as we saw. I was kinda upset because this was the first season that Mer wasn't the whiny Mer and Derek had something going on aside from moping around Mer, and I'd like to have that further explored.
To me, if the cancer storyline had been a little more short lived (ehem, sex ghost or Denny hanging around all that time), it might have set better with a lot of people. Also balanced. I got upset to the point that all the time it was Izzie, Izzie, Izzie. Sure, she needed priority but also diversity. That was my main problem with S.5, and I don't like Izzie anymore.
We can differ on KH, although I hope that next season finds more balance on the characters. I'm very curious about Owen. He hasn't been cured yet.

I can't believe that so many people didn't get that she is just joking. It's like people just look for something negativ she said to prove what a ungrateful bitch she is. If anyone else whould say that seventeen hours is a long first day, nobody would care. But she's bitchy Heigl, therefore she isn't allowed to joke about a long day or a stupid storyline.
Everytime she opens her mouth, people complain what a diva, bitch whatever she is, but I'm glad that she speaks her mind anyway & doesn't try to only say things that people will like. Sorry for my mistakes, Enlish isn't my mother-tongue.
She said this to Instyle "Now I've got this moniker that I'm the foot-in-mouth gal, and I keep thinking, In what way? Because I said something you don't agree with? Because I said something you don't like? I'm just telling you my opinion. I hate the idea that I can't be honest about how I feel about things because it's going to piss somebody off who feels differently. That seems preposterous

I'm a MerDer fan too..since the first episode :) But it doesn't mean that I want watch them 20 minutes of every episode. And you're right that their problems got this show where it is. Mer and McDreamy were the reason why I started watch the show. But in my opinion two characters can't be in charge for whole seasons. Show needed a fresh air and that's what was given to GA with Izzie's cancer storyline. But there is a lot of MerDer "fanatics" and they can't take it.
Izzie was this year the reason why to watch the next episode. And she's the reason why I can't wait for the 6th season.
KH did a wonderful job..I really don't care if she is a bitch or not. I don't watch show because of her behave in interviews. I watch the show because I like the character she plays.

Jelly,
A little more respect for the MerDer fans ok? Their 'stupid' problems got this show were it is. So yeah, wouldn't mock that a lot.
If you noticed, they didn't have much to do because it was all occupied by the mega invasive cancer storyline. By the time Izzie got her diagnosis, I was over it. Dragged out too long. Made me hate Denny and even loathe Izzie. The storyline backfired on a lot of people, including myself.
And I disagree about MerDer's storyline. The SK arc? Brilliant! Nobody could've played their parts like they did. Derek's breakdown? Great, although a little too short lived for my taste. I'd like to see more but nop, Izzie needed to be saved. Every character had to stop and work around Izzie. It was almost like they didn't treat any other patient...
As for KH, she's not being funny anymore. Why does her jokes have to revolve around GA? It's almost like another episode of "What is bothering KH today!". She needs to find new jokes because it's getting old

Come on! MerDer storylines was so stupid this year. They're not so interesting anymore..they're cute but boring. The show needed a break from their stupid problems. And this year with Izzie, Christina, Owen and Bailey's storylines was just great.
btw: KH is really funny in Letterman..don't you have people any sence of humor? Or you too much blinded with anger against her :) And the fact that she's the best friend of T.R..means something right? Or do you think that perfect person like him should be friend with such a bitch like you say she is?
Eliz, I totally agree with you.
We have the same opinion about KH, and about Ellen Pompeo.
She is my favorite actress on the show, although some of them are maybe better (Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, they are brilliant, how they portray their characters, I especially like Cristina's grimaces and faces). But inspite that, I just love how Ellen portrays Meredith, the character really suits her (new, strong Meredith), somehow they just click. She is doing an excellent job.
And she seems like a nice person, I saw her once on David Latterman, she was so more natural than KH and she didn't speak a single bad word about Grey's. Unlike KH, she is a very grateful person, she is conscious that Grey's gave her everything she has (although she had a couple of movies with big stars, ex. Leo di Caprio).
I am so sorry that as a leading actress she isn't getting so much credit, because she really put 100% of her in the character. I'm also dissapointed that she (as far as I know) didn't get even an e

Why is she so ungrateful? Sure 17 hours is a long day to anyone but its not like she's doing hard labor. Nobody knew who she was before Grey's and so far her film career has had her playing the same exact roles over and over.
You never hear any of the other cast bitch this much. And she's still complaining. Does she know how many people wish they had a job that they could work at 17 hours a day so they could make a living? Maybe you could joke about working a lot a few years ago but now with the economy she just seems really ungrateful. While George was not my favorite character I really wish they would've killed Izzie instead. That way I wouldn't be forced to watch Katherine.
It sucks that the egos of these people run the show instead of the way it worked in the first and second season when nobody really knew any of these actors.

Katherine Heigl is extremely ungrateful and is always complaining about something. I am glad other people share the same sentiment (MerDer fan 4ever you were spot on). Yes, 17 hour days are tiring but actors know when they sign up that that is what they are in for. It is unfortunate, yes, that they are worked so much but they are paid extremely generously. A six figure PER EPISODE salary? People who work twice as hard and as much with little to no vacations are lucky to make half that. And its not like she is continuously filming. I am sure she has plenty of down time... there are over 10 other main characters.
She needs to get over herself and count her lucky stars that she has a job and a career and give a hell of a lot more credit to Shonda Rhimes, Grey's Anatomy, and the fans from the show. I HATE conceited people and people who are not thankful for what they have. She needs to get over herself for once.
