Burn Notice and Royal Pains: Renewed by USA

The two biggest shows on the USA network aren't going anywhere for awhile.

Burn Notice and Royal Pains have both been renewed for additional seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The pickups aren't a surprise. Each show has put sizzling numbers over the last few weeks: In recent airings, Burn Notice earned 7.3 million total viewers, while first-year hit Royal Pains drew an equally powerful 7.1 million.

The Thursday duo helped USA finish first in the second-quarter ratings race, as it became as the most-watched cable network of July.

KaDee Strickland Previews Season 3 of Private Practice

After filming the first episode of the new season of Private Practice, KaDee Strickland (Dr. Charlotte King), is giving the kind of diagnosis we would expect from her:

“It is action, honey. Get ready, because it is not a game!”

KaDee Strickland, who plays the ABC medical drama’s twangy, sarcastic and at times hard-outside, soft--inside doctor, says the talented cast just wrapped the debut.

The events pick up right where last season’s tense finale left off.

To sum up, a conflicted Addison (Kate Walsh) is on the verge of an affair with the married Noah and a pregnant, paralyzed Violet (Amy Brenneman) is terrifyingly in the clutches of and at the mercy of a psychotic patient planning to abduct her unborn baby.

Does she know who will rescue Violet? If so Strickland is mum.

But we won't want to miss it, she says.

“I don’t think anybody’s gonna get up to grab a beer during the show,” KaDee Strickland told TV Guide. “The stakes that ended the last season were so high, and the resolve and the payoff is worth every penny. I love what they’ve done with Kate."

"I love what they’ve done with everybody that’s in this episode.”

KaDee also thinks her Private Practice character will be more prominent.

“[The writers] are really good at fusing light and shade. They never let her get too kind, so we’ll see if they do. I mean, she is an evolving little flower now.”

Yes. Yes she is.

While she’s determined to stay tight-lipped on details about the third season’s direction, “We’ll be more in the personal lives of the main characters,” she said.

“You get to know who these people really are, as well as see exciting cases that are very important, about health care and things important to Americans.”

Bones Creator: I've Got a Plan for Booth and Brennan

It would be an understatement to say that Bones viewers were let down by the show's season four finale.

After they discovered that weeks of hype concerning a Brennan/Booth sex scenes resulted in nothing more than an alternate reality dream, many fans became enraged.

Creator Hart Hanson experienced their wrath at Comic-Con last week and attempted to explain his decision.

"The [finale] was full of inside jokes. It was full of inside references. It was full of echoes and insights, I hope," he told E! News at the annual event in San Diego. "And we're going to carry some of the things we discovered in that alternate world into the real world. It's kind of a bridge thing."

in other words: please stay tuned. There really was a point to the final episode of season four.

Bones Pictures

As for whether or not Booth and Brennan will ever hook up for real, Hanson was coy.

"I do know. I'm not going to tell you. I do know if and when it happens [and] where it might happen."

Okay. Is there anything Hanson can tell us?

"Episode five or six of this year is the trial of the Grave Digger, and not a lot of evidence survived," Hart said, proceding to reference the letter than Brennan wrote when she and Hodgins were buried alive. "It's very likely that what she wrote [in the letter] will surface as evidence in that case."

True Blood Star Clamors for Kristen Stewart

Twilight this.

New Moon that.

It's all Sam Trammell hears these days. The actor, who plays Sam Merlotte on True Blood, says the constant talks of that movie franchise is "ridiculous," but he told E! News:

"Everywhere I go I get asked [if I've seen Twilight]. I'm going to read all the books and watch the movie," he said.

Trammell also said he'd welcome Kristen Stewart on True Blood, as the actress that plays Bella in the Twilight Saga could sink her teeth into a different role.

"I really loved her in Adventureland," he said. "I'd love her to come on. She could be a little vampire or a victim."

As for his own show, and what's actually set to take place, Trammell teased:

"I'll tell you that starting at episode six, it's utter mayhem. I turn into the smallest possible thing I can turn into and a very big thing as well."

Confirmed: Amy Acker to Return to Dollhouse

Joss Whedon is spilling a lot about the second season of Dollhouse these days.

Now, in another key tidbit, the series creator has confirmed that Amy Acker has signed a deal to return for three episodes inthe fall.

There was some question over whether or not Acker would be able to juggle Dollhouse with her full-time gig on ABC's new drama Happy Town.

But the actress will close out her arc as Dr. Claire Saunders early on in season two.
