Geez is it just me or do those four last anti-George comment seem to be from the same person? It clearly is from a person who really doesn't speak English very well and can't use punctuation.
Who tells you TR wants to be known? He has never seemed that at ease with attention anyhow.
Grey is in a downward spiral. It's pretty much the joke of the industry.
Shonda stopped caring about George when she had to fire her homophobic best friend, so you really think she would have actually written for George?
She didn't the last two seasons even though there were many storyline possibilities (his failed internship, Gexie, dealing with the divorce). She would have dropped yet another great story for him.
He doesn't owe Grey anything and I really don't think Grey has much time left anyhow.
Season 5 sucked without George and I won't be watching anymore.

Rob Lowe supposed to play Derek in the first place. I prefer Rob Lowe than PD as the matter of fact. IW=most annoying than George. I'm glad no more George and Burke. Can't wait for next season.

No need more air time for George. This character is no more needed in Grey's. It's a right decision to end this yarn character. George is the easiest to sway among the interns while he always thinks that his heart is in the right place. Every dicision he has made is in impulsive immotional reaction. I don't like him on the show. I'm glad. No more George.

he wants to leave let him leave...if he stayed he would have gotten more air time seeing that his character was hurt. just like KH got more air time after she bitched and moaned that she didn't like her story line the 4th season. she went through the same thing. If TR wants to do what he did before he got on grey's then i wish him the best of luck...but come on who can honestly say they know who he was before he was george???? if i got paid to do what he does i'd shut up and do my work...14 million for a few minutes of air time and people still know who i am.
after this we will not hear a thing from him, he's gointg to fall in the background somewhere just like isaiah washington. have we heard from him after grey's? yes he did the show on nbc but how long did that last?? TR messed up and i bet anything he will regret his decision of leaving. KH has..she wants to stay now. they should all just stick to the end theres just two more seasons to go. george would have had a hard time

She didn't. They even ask her why she didn't fight at all to get him to stay and she said he had made up his mind. That is such a cop out.
I did read the article you mentioned. She wanted to show how George died and how he got hit by a bus. Does she think we George fand wanted him to die and to see him die?
We didn't want ehr to see write for him AFTER his death. We wanted her to write for him when he was alive.
So even if TR said he would never come back and even if he never did, they could still have kept George alive like they did Burke.
They are not bringing back IW ever and Burke is still alive.
After everything George went through, all the hell, he deserved a happy ending, TR coming back for visits or not.
Izzie or some other could have given us news once in a while. Besides, people change their midns all the time and he might have come back one day.
Now he never can.
That's what makes me mad.

@anuflas - What a coincidence, I just read the whole article that was in EW and I can see both sides now, although I still don't think Shonda did ANYTHING to even TRY to get him to stay. Sounds like this whole thing has been brewing for a long time (on both sides) and its just a shame it had to come to this.
Therefore, I wish T.R. the very best and will mourn and miss him!

Haha. Yes I did miss those IW moments. Thankfully. He annoys the hell out me anyway. However, if you noticed, it's very small moments that not even huge blogs (and I follow celebrity gossip blogs A LOT) bothered to write about it. That's what I meant. If you keep looking, you'll obviously find something about IW but they are non important. IW is irrelevant to GA. I think that using him as the excuse of TR exiting GA is actually irrelevant.
As for Addek and Gizzie, in this blog maybe not, but I saw in several other blogs a HUGE fan base for Addek. They also got robbed. Their relatioships may not be 100% alike but the issue of being erased from the map was.
Slexie? One word: Ew. Mark belongs with Callie. It's like the writers are trying for MerDer 2.0. by switching roles. I honestly don't think that one will last. Although I don't know why that came here.

I agree Sylvie. ABC said Shonda hadn't decided whether to kill George or not after the finale and she would do what the fans wanted. It now seems she planned to kill George the moment he told her he was leaving in December. She flat out lied to us. I haven't seen one person who wanted George to die. Not one. I saw all the polls, all the sites and everyone begged Shonda not to kill him.
Even the day before it was confirmed George had died, Krista said in TV Guide they hadn't decided yet. Now Shonda said in EW they had the moment he wsaid he quit.
They LIED.
I'm a MerDer fan and a George (Gizzie) fan and they keep lying to me.
TR is right. You can't believe a word she says.
I loved George. Why would she kill him and not let him be a hero in the army? Didn't George got through enough heartache in the five years he was on the show? why kill him like that?

Wow Sylvie, interesting commentary. I have to agree with you on some of your points. Especially at the end when you said Shonda is "the one who decided to kill George. If she really loved George, she would have kept the door open and let TR visit once in a while in the future not kill him off by literally throwing him under the bus."
She knows how much MOST fans love him, so why, why, WHY would she cut off all chances of him even making a guest appearance (which would have been a perfect compromise between the two of them in MY opinion). So it certainly does sound like SHE purposely phased him out and didn't even try to talk him out of leaving. Which again (in MY opinion) is NOT a good move for the show! What was/is she thinking???

IW was never heard from again. Really? Because you could have fooled me when for months, he appeared on tlak show after talk show bashing TR and calling him an evil Macchiaveli who had planned the whole thing and had come out to get attention. Yet again Shonda didn't say a word in his defence.
You also must have missed when ET intervied IW a few months ago about TR leaving, and he said with a huge nasty smile on his face George wasn't needed anymore. This was when the rumors had just started, back in about January. It's funny because TR leaving had not been confirmed and he seemed certain he was leaving. Did Shonda call her best buddy to tell him she had finally made life so mierable for TR he was leaving?
Shonda quite clearly said in one of the Grey matter blog that ALLL George and Izzie's previous relationships had been to lead them to their one REAL relationship, the one together.

In the article it never said that Shonda didn't put up a fight, and if she didn't (this is an assumption), I'm sure as hell that ABC did. They are the bosses of Shonda. TR isn't going to put himself in the bad place. It would be ridiculous. This is HIS side. I haven't seen ABC's statement saying that yeah, they didn't bother. Again, this is MY interpretation of the article.
I'm trying to see both sides here because I do find unfair the constant bashing to Shonda. She doesn't lie but she doesn't tell the complete truth. She leaves some stuff out in order to keep us on the edge (which by the way, she does it really well). However, TR made a decision and if he says it was the right one for him, then ok. Cool, I hope he does well, but I do find the issue of backing out so easily.
If he was so determined to leave from the beginning, I can see Shonda's point of letting him go and putting him in the background as well as TR's fed up attitude with her. Although it seems unli

I woudn't miss Alex and Izzie at all if they left. Not the Izzie with Alex at least.
Bailey? I used to love her but she has gotten way over the top the last two seasons.
I saw season 5 with no George. It sucked. It had no heart, no soul, nothing.
A lot of us see George as the heart and soul of the show.
He's the character most fans relate to. If you think the show won't suffer without George, I think you're delusional.
Whather you like him or not, the truth is most people do.

Overit, you need to respect the fact that many of us watch for George and he's our favorite character. Alex and Izzie? Huge huge ywan. Own and Cristina? Ugh.
George and Izzie were the best couple and George was why I watch.
I'm the opposite of you. This year, I always found myself wondering when George would show up because the rest of the show was so boring.
George has a lot of fans, deal with it. And yes, I watch the smae show you do.

I think Mark and Lexie are the most boring couple in the history of television.
I think that Alex-Izzie are also boring. The hot body with the model? Wow!!!
This is my opinion.
And You have to respect that some of us love George's character. At least the George of the first 3 seasons.

Do you people watch the same show that I do? I mean news og George leaving is HUGE because he is the first main character to actually quit on his own. However, I have to say that George has NEVER been my favorite character. I have been an avid watcher since "A Hard Day's Night" and I have always found George to be a bit whiny and even annoying at times. I often found myself waiting for his storyline to be over so we could get to what was next. Sorry, but that is just my opinion. As far as T.R. Knight goes, I really don't know that much about him as a person...so I wish him the best of luck. I really don't think that Grey's is going to suffer any as a result of his leaving. If anything, it will give more screentime to MerDer, Mexie, McArmy and Cristina, Alex and Izzie, and Bailey. THOSE are the characters that the show would really struggle without. Can't wait for September!!!!

TR looks so amazingly hot there. I bought the mag just fro him and now I feel all dirty because I freaking hate Aussiello.
I love the interview. It makes me realize just how wodnerful TR is. He refused to be disrespected and wasted any longer.
I'll miss George and Gizzie. TR and Katie were so good together. Gizzie was the hottest, sweetest couple ever.

I bought the mag and got the same feeling too. That he fought and fought but Shonda never gave him anything in return. She was too busy for him. That makes me so angry.
I can't believe she admits to not even trying to get him to stay. She just said ok, and then jumped into writing his death as soon as she heard. Wow she really couldn't wait to get rid of him.
Her mistake. George was why I watched, so I won't be watching anymore.
She has always humiliated George more than any character.
George deserved love and happiness more than anyone, but all she did was crap on him. Then she kileld him.
I really can't forgive her for it.

I'm not going to watch without him. That's a fact. I'm so angry at Shonda for not even trying to change his mind.
After buying and reading the magazine, I love TR more than ever and have so much admiration for him. He amazes me.

If you really read the article, anuflas, you would know that Shonda didn't fight at all to get George to stay. She says so herself. She told Aussiello he was sure, she could see it on his face so she didn't try to make him change his mind. That's a pile of BS. That shows to me George didn't mean that much to her, or she would have tried to change his mind.
She didn't. He also tried to go repeatedly to her to ask her why George acted a certain why, what was his motivations and she never gave him any answers.
Patrick is the main actor on the show. TR is not. Things she would allow PD, she would not necessarily allow TR. Proof is PD criticized his stories many times, said season 3 was boring and bad, and never got any reproach about it. It was pretty much swept aside.
With all due respect, you don't know if TR fought. He says he did. He said he tried repeatedly for five years to get through to Shonda and all he got from her were lies after lies.
