Grey's Anatomy Questions and Answers From Kevin McKidd
Since George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) is a goner, that means Season 6 of Grey's Anatomy starts off on a bit of a low note. What could possibly lift the spirits of Seattle Grace?
Romance!
It looks like Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) are getting even closer this year, according to the former, although something arises from his past that may throw a wrench in the matter. Certainly feels like we've heard that before ...
In a new interview, McKidd reveals how George's death will affect everyone in the hospital, especially Hunt, who was instrumental in helping O'Malley become the hero.
Here are Kevin McKidd's answer to some burning Grey's Anatomy questions ...
Q: How does it feel coming into Season Six of Grey's Anatomy?
A: Kevin McKidd: It's nice to be full-time right from the start.
Q: How is George's death going to affect everyone?
A: I think it affected Owen Hunt a lot because he kind of mentored him and got him up on his feet as a trauma surgeon. He really felt that George O'Malley was going to become the next star head of trauma at the hospital. He didn't encourage George to join the army, but he certainly thought it was an honorable and great thing to do, so I think it's really hit Owen Hunt a lot.
In the same token, Owen is used to losing colleagues, and that's part of coming from Iraq and working as a surgeon in a war zone. He's become very assimilated to that, so he's got a better [grieving] mechanism than others in the show. I think he actually becomes a rock for people because he's so used to dealing with loss and grief of war colleagues.
Q: Do the producers have plans to replace George? Is someone new going to step in?
A: I don't know the answer to that one. They haven't said. But I know there are a couple of new interns coming in. It'll be exciting to see who shows up.
Q: How is Cristina and Owen's relationship going to develop this year?
A: It's going to get quite complicated in the sense that I think they have gotten over the whole trauma of his past, but then his past comes back again at some point to haunt him.
Someone comes to the hospital that he was connected to in his past, not his ex-fiancée, but it's somebody we didn't expect. I think it could get a little tricky, but still exciting and interesting. Hopefully it will bring them closer together in the long run.
Q: Bottom line: We should be rooting for Cristina and Owen this year, right?
A: Absolutely. They had a rough time last year, and they deserve some happiness this year. Whether they get it, I don't know.

I personally love Owen and Christina. Owen is in my opinion a far better man for Christina than Burke ever was.. What kind of a prick leaves his bride to be on their wedding day!! He was always a jerk to Christina and he never deserved her. Owen despite all his faults really loves her and wants to be with her and has made that known from day one. That is what I love about this couple they really want to be with one another but obstacle come their way that they have to overcome, but it's not about their not loving each other. I can't wait to see OC's love story unfold!!

TR said Shonda became distant with him the moment she had to fire isiah. His airtime started to decrease and decrease the moment Burke left. Do they think we are stupid enough to think that's a coincidence?
TR would have made a big deal? TR Knight? The guy who talked about the IW situation twibce in three years? Do you even know TR or are you confusing him with isiah?
TR is a professional and a classy guy. He said he was frustrated by the way the IW situation was handled and that Shionda grew distant with him. He won't bash her mroe than that. He is too nice and classy to do that, and he is not Isiah.
Isiah is only being pro-gay to get his career back and because, unlike TR, he is an attention-whore.
Whuich Gen am I talking to btw? The real Gen or the one who borrowed her name to defend Isiah and bash TR?
TR leaving ahs everything to do with isiah and TR and most of us know that.

Actually, Owen(Kevin McKidd)is the youngest(except interns) actor in GA. Just Shonda made him that tough look to fit in an attending age. I think they are hot in different ways.

Anuflas,
Thank you for your reasoned and thoughtful responses, sans myopia.
And yes, DI has a new gig. Also, PH is still supported (people go to his website) otherwise he could not continue his gig, self employed or not.

Again, I think that the IW situation is absolute irrelevant to TR's decision to leave. IF it is, I have no doubt that TR would've made a huge deal about it to be able to fight discrimination for gays in work areas. Because he didn't, I don't believe it was a factor.
I don't know why this keeps coming up.

And please enough with the racist crap. People hate IW because he

Is that the real Gen or the impostor Gen again? Last time Gen was saying someone was impersonating her. I think it's the impersonator because Gen is a TR fan and would never say we should forgive IW.
No we shouldn't. I would if I thought he was remotely sorry for what he did. He's not.
I saw him on Entertainment tonight too and the man came off as arrogant, opportunistic and really full of himself. He doesn't care about gays aat all. He said himself this was about making people realize he was not homophobic. This is about rebuilding his career.
He was twice interrogated about TR leaving the last few months and both times, he came off as ecstatic TR was leaving. He was smirking, grinning and really smug about it.
The man and Shonda cost TR his job. TR stopped getting any story the minute IW was fired.
Shonda did this as a payback to make IW happy and it's working. He is thrilled about TR lo0sing his job. He makes me sick.
I never want to see this man again.

Hmmm just cause I don't like Owen I'm shallow. WOW!!! And can't stand Burk cause he was and ass. What does that make me racist? No that makes me a person that can't stand to see anyone degraded cause they are gay or lesbian. Everyone says they love George, and then can turn around and say since George is going they should bring back IW they do that and I'de never watch the show again and I love this show.

Gen,
I think that IW did all he could to 'erase' the homophobic slur. He is now an activist in gay marriage and gay rights, which was a complete turn and he is now doing his best to get back on track. It is up to people to either forgive and forget or hold a resentment.
The problem (how I see it) was how he handled the situation. Originally, it was only the altercation that he had with PD the problem and later the release of the 'why' (to be honest, I think there is much more to it. As much as PD is a great person, I don't think that he'd get into a fight just to defend someone else.) and the drop that spilled the glass was at the Golden Globes. IW did everything wrong at that moment and killed his career.
I think that due to the fact that both PD and TR are much more liked and sympathized by more people than IW is, the resentment to IW is held.
To me, IW is absolutely irrelevant. If he is on TV, ok. If he's on the news, whatever. I thought that his actions were disgusting

"If Burke comes back, it can't be IW. Not after what he did to TR. I saw that man on ET the other week and got sick. He was pretending to be all pro-gay rights while smirking about TR being gone."
Funny how people are unable to forgive IW even though they were not there and know not what exactly happened or everyone's partcipation and responsibility in the situation. IW apologized in private and public numerous times for his part in the situation and continues to do advocacy work for gay people, some of whom he has personal relationships with according to the et psa behind the scenes interview.
Yet Don Imus, can disparage and try to humiliate African Amrican girls/children and not only get his job back but be forgiven once he apologizes.
Hmmm, wonder why that is?
Wonder how many African American girls DI had relationships with before he maligned them or that he has now since he's got his job back?
Wonder how many people unable to forgive IW are also unable to forgive the
