this is so depressing...they've completely annihilated george. the only way t.r. can come back is as a face transplant patient. however i am extremely excited to see how it all plays out and what suprises shonda has in store this season. the closer we get to the premiere the more excited i become. so bring on the tissues...

Silly television writers.
If they visited www.donottransplant.com, they would have known that if you live in a state like Washington State that has adopted the 2006 Uniform Anatomical Gift Act, it is presumed that you are an organ donor until they can find evidence of a contrary position. This includes hooking you up to life support systems even if you have an Advanced Healthcare Directive that says otherwise. They can keep your body alive until they can talk to your family, to convince them to make the donation.
It is a bit incredulous that doctors would be opposed to organ harvesting. It is a $20 billion a year business in the United States and careers are made based the cutting edge organ, tissue and body part transplants that they can perform.
Residents of any state that has adopted the 2006 Uniform Anatomical Gift Act have the right to refuse to participate in an organ harvesting procedure. You must register your desire with a known organ registry. There is only one
ok i totally think that one of george's parts will be transplanted to izzie. My guess is bone marrow...This will be realllllly cool!!

I am pretty disturbed by the whole gore scene AND George dying. I'm so sad that he died, but I understand what people are saying. It won't make me stop watching...I am A Grey's Anatomy Fan not JUST a George O' Malley fan. I have faith and trust in Shonda, she has led us this far with a great show...and I trust her that she will lead us to greatness this season also....she believes in everything coming full circle...i think ti will be ok

I have to ask...Are the people who say they aren't going to watch true loyal fans to the show, or just to ertaing characters? Because like Talia said true fans are fans until the end.

I dont mind the gore....I am a DIE HARD Grey's fan, and no matter what happens on the show I will watchthrough the good the bad and the ugly...cause I'm a loyal fan.
It is a tv show, its fake, but if it was real it is something that would happen in real life. If your an organ donor thats it...it doesn't matter how you die, or when your die, if you have viable organs then they are going to be used. Who cares if its gory...we have seen gory on grey's before. George is gone, and Grey's is still a tv show that needs ratings.
I always say if you dont like it, then don't watch and dont complain!
I agree with Kristen...maybe Izzie will get his liver...and cancer patients can get transplants...my aunt did.

I was all for it until I read the part that this was some gory horror fest.
Why are they making a horror fest out of organ donation?
I love George. I don't want to see this!

Why is she showing us that? I don't want to see George being torn apart. I just don't.
I love George and I don't want my last image of him to be this.
TR was right. The elevator scene was the perfect ending.
I won't be watching this, and I don't think the people who love George will either.
The funeral is heartbreaking enough.
I don't think I ever saw a character being put through as much horror as George has.
Does he remind Shonda or someone out there of a person they hated or what?

It's not surprising George would be an organ donor. He's such a selfless caring man. That just shows how amazing he is even more.
The man had the biggest heart, but I'm really disturbed at the gory part of it.
I don't want to see George's organs being pulled out of his body. I don't want gore. I want a touching tribute to George, not him being ripped apart and fought over by people who don't even care about him.
I don't care what Shonda's beef is against TR, but she put us George fans through enough.
I won't be watching.

Organ donation is great but why do we have to see it? People donate organs all the time on shows and we don't get to see all the gory details. This is George not some livestock we get to see picked apart.
George's death has been so violent and now even his afterdeath is violent.
Doesn't Shonda think the George fans want to have their last image of George being a bloody guy whose organs are being ripped apart?
TR didn't come back because he wanted the elevator scene to be the last George scene, but it seems Shonda didn't want that.
She absolutely wanted us to see him taken apart, ripped apart, mutilated.
That's what you can't wait to see. Do you hate George that much?
I don't get how anyone could love to see a character we have loved over the last five years being torn apart limb from limb?
I won't be watching Shonda's continuous trashing and mutilation of George.
It's sick. She's sick.

Yeah I thought of Izzie too...I think that is such a good way for George to atleast live on...I mean hes dead but atlest if one of the central character had his organs his legacy would live on...who knows what Shonda is scheming...Izzie has stage IV metastatic melanoma that spread to her brain and liver, and she had mets on her lungs....I'm guessin IF it's Izzie it would be the liver that she would get....that would explain a lot. Maybe they put the new organs in her before the funeral...who knows...what I DO know is WHY IS THE PREMIERE SO FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!

Isn't it bad enough that she threw him under the bus, now she wants to eviscerate and have people fight over him like vultures. God she really hated George, didn't she? But how about some respect for his fans? That's disgusting.
Poor George who was so kind died to save a girl who didn't give him the time of day after being ignored all year by his co-called friends, and now they're fighting over his organs.
That's just sick.

Izzie's heart was damaged with the high doses of chemo - that's why she was coding at the end. She may end up with his heart.
LMAO, no. Izzie's heart was fine. The reason why she coded was because the potassium level in her body was too high - a condition called hyperkalemia, Cristina and Alex even mention it as Izzie is coding. With the proper medication or the potasium level can be lowered to normal levels and that's what we'll likely see happen. Izzie isn't getting any of George's organs especially since she's a CANCER patient and therefore his heart would go first to someone who is cancer-free and on the transplant list.

This spoiler is rather disturbing-just the idea of surgeons vying for George's organs reminds me of what Owen said about doctors picking at injured people like vultures.
But I, too, immediately thought that Izzie would be a recipient of George's organs. I think the cancer spread to her liver, so she may need a new one. It would make sense that the others would be okay with the organ donation if it helped save Izzie.

"It's one of the goriest scenes they've ever done because you literally see each of these organs get pulled out of his body," says the supposed on-set insider.
Why would they think we would want to see that? I'm still having nightmares over seeing George's face all disfigured. I love George. I want to remember him all beautiful in the uniform, not a body with organs being taken out.

well you cannot transplant a brain since that is Izzie's problem I doubt she is getting any organs. Of course I really no longer believe any supposed news from the GA camp. I am not along in doubting what we hear since TR suggested in his EW interview lies and false information are often given to the cast and crew as well.
I think the character of Marsha Plimpton will and her son will be the ones that are "the lives that will be saved" by George's organs. I don't know just guessing.

is it just me or does the wording "hears what lives will be saved" make it sound like at least one the transplants is going to Izzie??? I'm sorry that's just too much!
